My husband and I went here because it is right next to the Addison Pharmacy, and because of the high Yelp rating. I am glad fellow Yelpers enjoyed it, but we did not. I try never to give one or two star reviews, because I sincerely believe every business is doing their best. This place was just awful. I write all my reviews for vegans, vegetarians and omnivores alike. The good news for vegans and vegetarians is that the rice and beans are safe to eat. They contain no animal stock or lard, which Mexican food often does. However, the service was just terrible. We were the only ones in the restaurant and the server got our order wrong and was rude about correcting it. Then our check was incorrect. The food was overpriced. $14 for chips and the most bland and blah guacamole we have ever had. My husband ordered shrimp tacos which he found unappetizing and they barely contained any shrimp. I brought my own vegan cheese to have them make a vegan cheese and mushroom quesadilla for me and they refused. No Mexican restaurant has ever done this, they have always been happy to accommodate me at menu price. Just a horrible experience and waste of money that left us still hungry. This place has the BEST birria! I prefer to get the birria quesadilla because it's a little less messy to eat with a fork and knife, but both the quesadilla and tacos are amazing. I also really love the birria ramen! It's definitely not traditional, but it always hits. Portions are a good size too! The service is always good here, it can be a little loud at times, but not so much so that you couldn't still go out with friends. Definitely has a small local vibe. Lively decorated, friendly service, and comfortable inside and the outdoor space. My friends like their tacos and enchiladas very much. I decided to go with something different, Tlacoyo. This is of pre-Hispanic origin and made of blue masa, an oval-shaped patty topped with nopales, salsa, fresh onion, cilantro, and cheese you can eat it the same way you would eat a pizza slice, pick it up with your hand and bite right into it. The soup was very flavorful. The chips were a bit hard. The salsa was okay. I wasn't a huge fan of it. The agua fresca jamaica was good. Refreshing on a hot day. Now the birria burrito was amazing. I've had birria tacos before, but never a burrito. It was a little messy, but worth it. I would definitely get this again. There are so many birria options. They also provided chips and salsa, the red salsa was extremely spicy, but we loved it. I went with I think the quesbirria or something like that, and my wife got the chicken enchiladas . I thought the Birria tacos were good, but not amazing. My wife's chicken enchiladas were very tasty though. The waitress was very kind and checked up on us Several times. Margaritas strong and from scratch. I prefer the house lime margarita over the speciality upgrade recipes -- too much orange in the fancy ones. If you like a plain margarita, order the house margarita and upgrade the tequila if you care. Quesabirria tacos huge and meaty. Well worth the premium over regulat tacos. Husband ordered for pick up. Waited over 20 mins so checked in for status. Lady staff checked and it was sitting behind the counter wall the whole time. Asked how long it has been sitting there and with an attitude told my hubby it's been busy. Well it's not our problem is it? I got the quesabirria tacos combo pack. All three was cold and does not taste good. Has high hope but it's a big disappointment. If you're looking for an authentic spot with amazing flavor and Birria tacos in particular, this is the place to go. I went for lunch with my family, and was amazed with the quality of food, ambience and service. The waiters were nice enough to accommodate a last-minute addition to our table, and I was impressed with how fast everything came out. The highlight was really the food and I loved all of the dishes. I tried in particular, the Birria tacos and the enchiladas. They also give you a variety of sauces that complement the meal well. I just found my new favorite Mexican food place! Went there last night for the first time. It's small with a good vibe. The margaritas were on point. They start you off with homemade tortilla chips and 3 salsas. I had their chicken enchiladas with green sauce. My son had the birria burrito. It came with a dipping gravy on the side. I love Sabor De Mi Tierra. I usually go to their Stone Park location but the one in Addison is closer to my house. Service is always good and they are attentive. This location has outdoor seating so since the weather was nice we sat outside. Their tortillas are hand made fresh and their margaritas are huge. Portion sizes are big enough to share. All of their food is flavorful and with a little twist than the typical Mexican restaurant. It's a nice place to go with a large group and have awesome food and drinks.
