Great Mexican food that's ready in minutes! This is a small joint that we always stop at when we're at Wrigley. The line can get long, but they move fast (and only have three cooks!). This last visit we got a steak burrito and an order of nachos. The burrito was phenomenal. The nachos weren't the best, the cheese was clumped together only in certain areas and not evenly dispersed. I have tasted Horchata in not only several states, but in about 20 different restaurants around the Chicagoland area. El Burrito makes the best Horchata that I have tasted. I am 100% Mexican, and have traveled to a few different parts of Mexico numerous times. This place has THE BEST Mexican food I've ever had. The taco meat is tender and not too dry. Not to mention, the portions are insane! If you happen to stop by, I STRONGLY recommend you try their carne asada nachos, or carne asada burrito with french fries. OMG to die! Their Horchata is THE BEST I've ever had. I've had many and some are gritty, some are too watery, some are just nasty. This one is fabulous. I had the burrito dinner meal with a HUGE steak burrito with everything, refried beans, and rice. The beans were good and the rice was nothing special. The steak was actual steak but tasted like it had been boiled before or cooked in its own grease. Something was off on the taste. The tortilla and fillings were good and everything seemed fresh but not the BEST I've ever had. Everything cost about $10-$11 bucks. I went at about 12:30ish on a friday afternoon and it wasn't busy but there were several tables inside occupied by patrons. The restaurant was clean and the woman who took my order was friendly. Might try something else in the future. The quest for the best horchata has found its home here, but sadly, the best burrito quest continues. read more

The service has been great so far the waitress is working alone and she seems to handle it very well. I ordered nachos with meat. My son got French fries b chicken tenders. I wanted to sample a few of their meats, before ordering a big burrito's worth of any one of them. So I got 4 different tacos. Steak was cut into small cubes... most of it was chewy and not that flavorful. Spicy pork was not hot-spicy.. but definitely had an exotic spice of some sort. Tasted like cloves to me.. which is not my cup of tea. Chile relleno was decent.. on the mild side, pepper-wise. But not worth ordering again. Chicken was the sole winner for me. It had both shredded & cut meat in a paprika sauce.. yum ! That will definitely be my burrito of choice, the next time I visit here. And I *will* visit again, especially after reading favorable reviews of their horchatas :-) BTW... the onions & cilantro on the tacos were very fresh & tasty. They made enough of a good impression on me to mention here ! Salsa rocho (red) had a good charred taste with mild to no heat. Salsa verde (green) had an almost-spoiled taste (?!) with moderate heat. I would have given them five stars in the past but now I would give them zero. The food was actually good until one day we actually sat down to eat we would normally do carry out. But the day we did it was the worst experience Ive had. A cockroach crawled across the table so I called the waitress over and told her. She replied with "you must have had it on your coat and brought it with you" excuse me but No!! Moved the napkin holder and along came another cockroach. Called the health department and they went to inspect they had to inspect it but the owner had already had pest control come by. So they knew something was going on. This is our usual go-to spot if we're all craving tacos after work. There are a plethora of options to choose from and the servings are huge. I've had many things from here, from their burrito (seriously is the biggest burrito I've seen around), gorditas, enchiladas, flautas, bistec, and a variety of tacos. Most recently I tried their tacos de cecina and they were so good! Corn tortilla with the cecina, cilantro and grilled onions---perfect! The shop is easy to miss because it's set back in a strip mall, so it's hard to see off Lake Street. If you do find it, stop here! It's worth it! For a strip mall burrito joint it passes mustard, but it's not a destination type of a place. If you are driving by, or in the area, by all means try it. But don't go too far out of your way. The steak is NOT the best around. Maybe the best on Lake St in Addison, but not worthy of lofty praises some bestow upon it. If you think it's the best, take a fifteen minute ride west to Hacienda de Roselle and try that. Then, come back here and tell me this is benchmark quality (there are better places than Hacienda de Roselle, but I can't think of one in this area). Slightly better than average taco stand fare in big porttions at average prices served by nice people in a place clean enough to pass inspection. That just about sums it up. read more

Maybe we should have kept driving. They were very nice here but the steak tacos weren't anything to write home about. The meat was dry and in big chunks. I like my tomatoes smaller and they also were in big chunks. The fries weren't what I like but that's a personal preference, not to say that they were bad. Salsa was alright.
