We just ate lunch at El Cabrito and everything was fantastic! I've been to Oaxaca, so when I say I feel like I was there, I mean it literally and in the best possible way. The food was so fresh and of such high quality, and presented beautifully on real (not disposable) dishes. I had the ensalada de la casa. it had the freshest ingredients and exceptional flavors and was hearty enough to be a full meal with chicken and garbanzo beans and a touch of queso. We shared an order of molotes, which were phenomenal. Mole enchiladas were also stellar! Inside seating is limited but so colorful and inviting. Patio seat beautiful and comfortable. One of the worst Mexican food I've ever had. This truck was at Westlake and I craved some Mexican for lunch. I ordered carnitas with my platter but I swear it tasted a bit like mystery meat with a bit of lamb and beef mixed in. It's like they cooked every kind of meat they have in the same pot because my "pork" tasted goaty and gamey. Whatever it was definitely was not the pulled pork/shredded texture of carnitas (pork shoulder), more like low quality pork chop meat. The rice and beans tasted like they were straight out of a can and just boiled. The salsa was bad also, nothing memorable, probably just tabasco or something. No TLC in this food. It was expensive, too!! $15 for a platter and a soda. Ughh so bad, never again. If you want Mexican near Westlake, go to La Vaca Burrito Express. So unimpressed. Way better options out there. I had walked to the market on my lunch break and the tourist lines were way too long so I was pretty stoked to come back through westlake park and find short lines at a taco truck. Tacos are the lowest common denominator of food trucks! How could you possibly do it wrong? A taco plate (4 tacos) with rice and beans and tax came to $15. I asked for al pastor and steak. I waited more than 15 minutes in the hot sun while they served all of the numbers before and after mine. My number was called and I was handed a flimsy paper plate covered in foil with a paper clamshell and a little plastic container of hot sauce balanced on top. I already had market flowers in my hand and had to hustle back to my office balancing hot food and my wallet and my flowers. Since I was now late back to work and had to relieve my coworker but super hangry, I peeked in the clamshell and was greeted by tiny (less than 1/2 cup each) portions of unseasoned white rice and black beans that just looked like they came straight out of the can. I quickly wolfed down one of the pastor tacos. It was so dry. The tub of sauce they gave me had no flavor but at least it was some moisture. An hour later, I get back to my desk, even hungrier, to cold tacos. The steak is thin and grey, full of gristle but has good flavor at least. The pastor one is just SO DRY. I really enjoyed this taco truck and the delicious al pastor they make with grilled pineapple. I got one taco just for a taste and came back after the dog park for a couple more. We stopped by about 30 min before closing on a sat night. The spot itself is super cute, it made me miss my home of cdmx very dearly. I have to get here more often because my first and only trip was wonderful. The brick and mortar location on Ambaum is a cozy (small) spot with friendly owners, spotless facilities and quick turnaround from order to service. I loved the mole dishes and the feeling of being treated with friendship rather than just another customer. I'm fortunate to be able to walk here if I wanted to, and that might be a great idea because the portions are generous. I hope more Yelpers try this out as it is a valuable addition to Burien's thriving ethnic food choices. read more

I grabbed dinner from El Cabrito tonight while they were parked at Black Raven's brewery in Redmond. Things looked very promising at the onset: I'm never one to turn down cheap Mexican food for dinner. Furthermore, the dude manning the truck even said that our food would be ready in two minutes. That's pretty great time for a carnitas plate and a taco plate. Right about then, things began to head south. "Your total will be $17 with tax." "OK, so what's the grand total?" "$17 with tax." "Umm, sure." At that point, I hand over my credit card (if he'd given me an exact amount, I would've used cash). He then punches numbers into his calculator, swipes my card for the mystery amount, and then hands me the receipt (which tells me the final amount). Never before have I had anyone at any dining establishment ever tell me only the pre-tax total at the time of payment. Well, that was weird, but whatever. We now had our food in hand, and headed back into the brewery to devour our plates and wash them down with some beer. Unfortunately, these were some pretty terrible chicken tacos. They had literally just chicken with a white, creamy sauce on the tortillas (surprisingly dry chicken, too). No onions, no cilantro, no pico de gallo, nothing. Very disappointing. The only saving grace was that the four tacos set me back just $7. My boyfriend's carnitas plate was also underwhelming. It had decent meat, but the completely flavourless beans accompanying the meat kind of destroyed the taste when eating them all together. I will definitely be passing on this truck in the future. I think I'll just stick to Tacos Chukis whenever I need a taco fix. read more

Well the mole is out of this world good. I've only had the mole enchiladas, tacos adobada, and a steak burrito. All were totally delish, but these were mole enchiladas with grilled pork and I can't wait to go back for more! The enchiladas must be a Oaxacan style, because they are mostly flat and not filled, the ingredients and mole lie smothered on top, and the grilled pork is on the side with tasty beans. You sop up everything in this mole sauce that must be a secret recipe, because I've never had better mole. The tacos adobabda are also unforgettable. It seems the food here is made by artisans. Be prepared for a wait, as this high quality Oaxacan food takes time to prepare. It's totally worth the wait. We live nearby so very excited to keep coming back here. Nice people too. Tips: This taco truck is red in color, sitting on the East side of Rainier Ave S between S. Dearborn and S Charles, at the North end of the Shell gas station parking lot. There's plenty of parking. The address I used for this mobile vehicle is not an official address, just an approximation. EDIT: For some reason, Yelp shows this location in Phinney Ridge. It is NOT in Phinney Ridge; no where near there. I asked Yelp to update the location several weeks ago, but no love yet. EDIT: The tacos barbacoa are to die for! Wish I could talk about the food, but 30 minutes after ordering four tacos, they still weren't ready. Gave up and walked away. This wasn't a single lost order; several other would-be customers had been waiting just as long. This truck takes orders at a rate of about one every 30 seconds, and delivers orders about one every three minutes. The cook has to prep each order, wrap it, carry it outside and around the truck, and try to find the right customer in the large crowd waiting for their orders... before going back to prep the next order. You can see the problem here. If you get a couple of hours for lunch and it's a nice day, this might be a nice way to pass the time if you bring a snack. Otherwise, avoid. read more

Then when we got the food it didn't have any flavor and we got white rice with black beans with Mexican food mind you. Plus he only half sprayed down the area we were supposed to order from. The staple steak burrito is seasoned with cilantro and lime. Get beans and rice on the side. Otherwise, too smushy. The tacos are scrumptious, carefully wrapped for preparation to eat in your car. Very friendly service...although, the white bald man counting the money didn't look up to smile once, or acknowledge anyone....which makes me wonder that this isn't a family business.....? This is a legit Oaxacan food truck. I tried the chicken enchiladas, which come with white rice and black beans. The guy working spoke flawless English so I'm not sure where the concern about ordering comes from... Good news: they pile on the food! My plate was FULL. Saw this food truck last friday outside chucks hop shop but according to the schedule posted on the bar el cabrito is only there between 9pm-12mn. Anyway Had the asada plate for $13 including tax. Serving was pretty big so if you're hungry it should be enough. My friend and I shared it coz I wasn't that hungry but after 2-3 bites I wanted to finish it by myself. The steak was season well as well as the rice underneath the steak. There was a small portion of salad on the side and some black beans which I think was good too but I'm not a fan of salad so I wasn't able to finish it. My other friend had chicken quesadilla that was priced at $8 and i think the portion was pretty good too. It had 4 big slices. According to my friend it tasted good so maybe it's worth trying next time. read more

Happened upon this gem when they were at the Bellevue food truck hotspot on 106th, decided to give them a shot and was not disappointed. They were out of the chalupas by the time I got there, but the tacos were outstanding. Had the carnitas, which were tender and flavorful, and also the chicken which was simmered in a fantastic mole. I'm from Portland and love Mexican food carts. I tried the burrito and my friend had the pork plate. As somebody else said- the burrito is really mushy. It's 80% rice, a little bit of beans and even less meat. The salsa was underwhelming and they only gave a little. The pork plate lacked flavor. I would pass on this food cart. The quesadilla looks ok.. I guess. Would be the only thing I would consider trying next time. Disappointed. read more

This truck was at the Ridgecrest Public House tonight. I tried the pork mole enchiladas. The tortillas did not contain any stuffing and were folded flat with the meat, rice and mole sauce on top. The pork itself was just OK as were the beans and rice. The mole was complex and had a nice balance between sweet and spicy. I am picky and tend to prefer just spicy but this was pretty good. The salsa they gave me with it was delicious. There seemed to be just 5 or 6 combo options and less mix and match potential than most trucks. I did see one person walking away with a huge carne asada plate and I knew that is what I should have ordered. The food was decent enough that I want to give the asda, tacos and lamb barbacoa a try. Wow! What an excellent meal with great prices for a Seattle food truck. This truck was at Ridgecrest Pub so we gave it a try. We are from the Southwest so very picky about Mexican food. We hired their food truck to cater our daughter's wedding reception and couldn't have been happier with the choice. Every guest, from toddler age to great-grandparents, loved the food. They custom made every serving to the diner's request. The salsa was excellent and plentiful, and was set up as soon as they arrived. They stayed until everyone finished eating (many guests had seconds, thirds, and took home a plate for the next day). The family was kind and customer service excellent. I'll use them again any time we have a large gathering! I highly recommend El Cabrito, as do all our guests! read more
