We were on our way to the Seattle airport and looking for snacks. We stopped here and ordered cookies. We had oatmeal chocolate chip and peanut butter, both were fresh and delicious!!

We randomly found this little bakery in Burien, and it turned out to be such a pleasant surprise! The place was packed when we got there, and it had that warm, friendly small-town bakery vibe. Everyone working there was kind and welcoming. My husband ordered the French Ham sandwich -- not quite like what you'd get in Paris, but definitely one of the top five French ham he's had in the U.S. I had the Turkey and Chutney sandwich, and it was excellent. The soft como bread paired so well with the cranberry chutney and roasted turkey, and the fresh, crunchy lettuce gave it a great texture. Prices were around $13-$17 per sandwich, not cheap, but the bread itself was quite reasonably priced. Most loaves were about $5-$7, which is a great deal compared to the usual $10 sourdoughs elsewhere. The bread was slightly smaller but still good value. The matcha latte was mild but enjoyable. Definitely worth checking out!

The jam, while having good flavor, was a little too gummy

This is my second trip to Grand Central Bakery, only because bakery Nouveau is closed on Mondays and tuesdays, and it will be my last. Got the marionberry jammer and a cinnamon roll with currants, and the only reason I bought that is because it wasn't raisins. The cinnamon roll, while warm, was either doughy in the middle or dry on the outside. The marionberry jammer, while looking delicious, was dry, crumbled apart and sorely lacking salt, if there was any salt at all. You want to like something that looks so good but you just can't when the quality isn't there. Sadly that was money wasted.

Hello Haley, I appreciate your response to my review, but I think trying to respond to my food as appearing fully cooked by the photograph is dismissive! Much like your barista, not being able to read a simple name with five letters! This was clearly a new experience for me and not a good one! Hummm! Customer service is the key to any successful service orientated business, so if you're asking for somebody's name, you should either be able to spell it and read it and say it! Saying one's name correctly and not rolling your eyes and being dismissive would be a good start! Or don't bother, asking anyone name if you have a literacy problem. My apologies that I did not see your response sooner as I travel for work, however, the fact that I'm new to the area and have not experienced this in any other establishment over the last month as I've been going around to the different establishments, enjoying the community, the vibe and the food! This is not something I have experienced in any other establishment in the Burien community and hope to never experience again so whether I come back or not is irrelevant m My experience is my experience please don't be as dismissive by trying to grade my food by photo it's just as rude. It's not being able to say my name, but it only has five letters. Best regards Sent from my iPhone

Just a quick stop for a small breakfast for the day. It is pretty spacious inside and would be a good place to come in to do work, if need be. The staff were really friendly and helpful! Bonus: Free parking!

Fidel Cash Flow: A rich and savory combination of braised pork belly, sliced ham, swiss cheese, dill pickle chips, fresh cilantro, plain mayo, and a spicy brown mustard on a telera roll (4/5). Served with your choice of sides (hand cut fries, waffle fries, chipotle mac salad, & jalapeño slaw). The sandwich size was a bit smaller than expected but it did come with a side. The bread was so soft and good. I also wish it had a bit more meat to enjoy. Otherwise, still a good tasting sandwich. Come support your local business.

In the back there is a huge mural of Dolly Parton, Anthony Bourdain, and a tiny Bob Ross in the style of American Gothic. The walls are covered with trinkets from the 80s and 90s like Homies and California Raisin figurines and KISS Pez dispensers. The food: Smashwich - A really good breakfast sandwich. The hash browns give it some added crunch that is surprising but welcome. Chicken in a Biscuit - The biscuit and chicken taste great. It's a bit hard to eat because of how large of a bite it is and how firm the components are. Vanilla Cream Shokupan Doughnut - The donut portion is tasty and there is a ton of whipped cream on this. The cream is quite heavy though and leaves a fatty mouthfeel. Wish this was a lighter cream that's fresh filled into the pastry, but that's another prep step before serving. Overall, really fun place in terms of the decor, music and interesting twists on food. Oodles of nostalgia is always a positive in my book. I have been wanting to try this place for a while. I got the iced Cardi B (a latte with house-made…read morecardamom brown sugar syrup with espresso and almond milk) and my fiance an iced mocha. The first sip of the Cardi B, my eyes rolled back, and I nodded to how good it was. It's not too sweet (I ordered all of this online on their website for pick up and was not able to ask for it half sweet, but glad they didn't over-sweeten it). The cardamom flavor is prominent, so if you don't like that flavor, I'd choose something else. I also ordered some breakfast items. I got the Lil' Verda, which is a breakfast burrito on a flour tortilla with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, avocado, and salsa verde ( I also added sausage to it). It's pretty tasty! It's a big burrito for being on a medium flour tortilla. I got the fiancé a breakfast sandwich on a brioche bun (you can choose what bread you want; they even have gluten-free) that came with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, and I added bacon for him (adding a meat was only $2, which is reasonable). As I said, I pre-ordered everything on their online ordering system. My order was ready when I got there as promised. The staff member who helped me was super nice and pointed out where the hot sauce (Tapatio) and straws were. They do have separate windows for ordering and pickup. If you order online, just head to the pick-up window. It is a little spendy (breakfast sandwich w/ added meat $10.75, burrito w/ added sausage $12.75, and two espresso drinks at roughly $8 and some change), however, everything is going up in price (Gas is up to $5.09 +), so take that as you will. Overall, it's a cute little spot nestled in a neighborhood. There is street parking, but it's in an area that isn't too hard to find parking, as it is further away from the very busy spots of West Seattle. I'd come back, perhaps take the fiancée there so we can enjoy it fresh.

I'm actually not a bagel guy, nor do I ever think about them when it comes to grabbing a quick bite somewhere but this was a perfect opportunity to try it again. There was an assortment of bagels, and I got half of an everything bagel and - the one that several of my coworkers highly recommended - the rosemary bagel. Both go well with cream cheese. - The everything bagel was pretty standard; I could taste the garlic and sesame seeds throughout. Garlic was quite powerful on this one though, and I almost thought of garlic bread until I remembered bagels are harder to chew on. - My favorite was the rosemary bagel, just like my coworkers. I could taste the herbs clearly on this one; it was aromatic yet a little bitter. It was balanced with the saltiness already present on the bagel. Since I didn't go to their physical location - which looks like quite a walk from Georgetown - I have yet to see the inside of this place.
