I nearly cried tears of joy biting into one of these pies. Got several to try: chicken pie, beef & beer, and a regular beef pie, for a quick sit-down lunch. The chicken pie is so savory and it tastes like all the good parts of a chicken soup but without the soup haha. The chicken is ground and the sauce is creamy, going very well with the golden flaky crust. The beef and beer pie is the star. I don't even wanna tell people because it's that good, I wanna gatekeep this pie to myself. It sells out of the fridge first so I had to get some hot to go ;) the filling has large, tender, soft beef chunks cooked with the juicy filling that has a earthy, hoppy taste from the beer. It really adds something special to the flavor. Highly recommend trying this one hot in the store! Lastly, the 'just beef' pie was also super yummy, the crust is thin and buttery, and the insides were piping hot. It's the perfect pie and a good size for one to fill you up if you're a medium to small eater, and two will do it for you if you're a big eater and wanna be stuffed. Omgosh this place is absolutely legit! I was in town visiting my son and he kept telling me about this place and how he would go there an every week when he first moved up to Burien a few years back. I really would have loved to taste these pies but I could not so this review is based directly on their shipping and safe food handling processes, not the taste of the pies which I'm sure would have been delicious. I ordered a dozen pies to be delivered to Scottsdale AZ. When they arrived 36 hours later (and I do praise their swift shipping) they were completely thawed out and warm to the touch. I was shocked to find that they were simply placed in a polystyrene cooler with no other insulation or dry ice to keep them frozen during the shipping process. I have ordered many meat based products online and this is the first company I have seen not to properly insulate their products. This is very poor safe food handling and they will make someone sick if they do not move to safer practices. I would have liked to think that they would have then offered me a full refund, of over $200 for their malpractice, however I was told that they could only offer a refund for the price of the pies and I would have to take up the shipping issue with the shipping company. So what they are essentially saying is that I am to blame for the shipping company that THEY chose and that I should spend my time trying to recoup lost funds, even thought it was their packing issue that caused the problem in the first place. In a nutshell this company should have eaten a little humble pie and given a full refund for their mistake, and they definitely need to address the shipping issues before some eats a salmonella pie! read more

Turns out the day my friends and I went was on a Thursday when Farmer's Market occurred. There was a sign outside the little shop indicating that ALL meat pies were only $4. WHAT A STEAL. Of course I had to get the best one: The Mouthful. We were already somewhat full so my boyfriend and I shared one. The pie was as big as my hand, and it was hot as if it just came out of the oven. It had steak, mashed potatoes, mushrooms, cheese and onions. So much in one pie! There was also gravy inside, complementing the entirety of the pie. YUM!
