I knew when I saw the to-go orders being made on disposable plates and wrapped in foil, I was in for some authenticity. I ordered three tacos lengua, al pastor and carnitas. The food was definitely great and authentic. I had known about this place through a student and had only saw the delicious dishes. We stopped in for a quick lunch (so we thought). But to our surprise, the service was not great. There were only 3 other groups seated and eating. But it took almost 15minutes to get our order in, then it was not communicated properly so we ended up paying more than expected. I am understanding of language barriers, but when you the waiter asks in the best English and confirms, that may be a problem. This is authentic in that it tastes delicious but without the exorbitant prices. On Tuesday's tacos are $1.50! The salsas are hidden gems and the pupusas are loaded with amazing refried beans. Well, this is certainly an authentic Mexican restaurant. A broad array of Mexican dishes are represented. You've got central classics such as birria, northern delicacies such as burritos, and even a lot of Oaxacan dishes. I think the variety is just great and the dishes are all collections of diverse flavours arranged very nicely. That being said, the taste is great, but not perfect. The restaurant is dirty, the management could use a bit more conscientiousness, and the parking situation is atrocious. Authentic!!! Real Mexican cuisine and atmosphere! The employees are super nice and you can really feel the unity of the culture. I had the taco salad and two chicken tacos with rice. My sister tried the whole fish with 2 Birria taco. So good. We shared the meals.Love the onion and jalapeño that accompany each dish! Its excellent. El Cabrito has made use of such a small space very intelligently. Its very clean, plenty of booth style tables, with restrooms off to the side. Parking in front of the building only has about 3-6 spaces for all the stores but off to the side is a parking lot and behind the bldgs is a very large FREE parking garage. So drive to the left of the bldg and you'll find plenty of parking. The service was extremely fast and friendly. Clean-up is prompt. Food delivery was fresh and prompt and I really enjoyed their Barbacoa tacos. Two layers of soft tortillas guarantee that your taco won't bottom out. Their salsa has a bit of kick with large chunks of peppers. Yum. Its not a typical bottled Salsa, it looks homemade. The only improvement could be their heavy chips and their Carne Asada needs to be a tad more juicy, it was a bit dry. However, I would make the trip back for the Barbacoa. I tried 3 tacos: barbacoa, carnitas, and carne asada. My husband and I both agreed that the Barbacoa was the way to go. Overall, 4 out of 5 and its always a good sign when you walk into an ethnic restaurant and that said ethnicity is heavily represented as customers. Best thing: they serve Jaritos soft drinks! Went on a Sunday around 12pm. It was a bit more crowded than normal but still tolerable. Staff was pleasant and great cozy atmosphere as normal. Food was great. Normally I get the seafood soup, but this time I switched it up and got the 4for4 Shrimp.... It was GREAT! read more

So happy they opened a location in Owings Mills. My wife and I used to drive to Pasadena just for this place. Small place feels like almost a carry out, but has seating. If you want some authentic Mexican food I highly recommend it! Also, try their cantaloupe juice. Glorious read more
