Honestly this place was 10/10. The food was so good and the staff was really nice. The atmosphere actually felt like you were eating at a real Mexican/Tex-Mex restaurant and it had a really good vibe. I've seen people hating on this place but honestly I don't understand why because my experience was great. It does seem like they could use a few more workers because it got a little busy, but overall I had a really good experience and would definitely come back. 10/10 read more

The staff was very, very friendly and always ask if I needed something else. I don't have any issues with the staff. They were marvelous. The food on the other hand left a lot to be desired. I had two tamales and they were basically tasteless. Grease soaked flour. They were covered with unseasoned ground beef. You could actually see the grease floating on the plate. They just was no taste. It was a totally bland meal. They had no hot sauces or condiments on the table other than salt and pepper. I'm not sure it would've helped but I gave it a try. It's a great place, but they need to update the quality of their food considerably. Those tamales were probably some of the worst I have ever had in all of my years. Kind of an emergency stop, but ended up being really good! GPS took us past it a tiny bit but was pretty accurate. We had the hawaiian and added steak. The food was delicioso and came out very quickly. Server was matter of fact, but took great care of us. They didn't have a changing table, but were family friendly nonetheless! Our food was nice and hot. Chips were warm. Salsa was very salty but ok. I got the special with bacon, chicken, shrimp and veggies. It was delicious. My husband got an enchilada combo and said it was "OK". We are traveling and got hungry for Mexican. read more

When we got there it was about a 5 minute wait, then after we got seated we got our drink. The service was great so was the food. The prices were reasonable for the amount of food you got. The food was garbage. I ordered a burrito, enchilada, what they call chilli con queso, and the supreme nachos. Nothing was made as described on the menu. There was no flavor what so ever. The nachos were loaded with shredded lettuce which actually had more flavor than The whole meal. I feel very sorry for the young lady who had to serve us the meal. I could get more flavor out of a dried up McDonald's hamburger. I DO NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone the prices were very high for what they served. What?? A good Mexican place in Vinita, Oklahoma?? Super!! It's a great change from the Sonic next to the hotel! So I get to travel here once and awhile to visit one of the frozen bread dough plants. Seems like a lot of meat and potatoes in this area... Where's the food??? Yes there's miles of diners. But I need more! I need Mexican!! Well, I've had better but considering the location I'm willing to let them have less than fantastic chips. The salsa wasn't as burning hot as I thought it would be which for me was great. I had one of my faves: chili relleno. It was stuffed with beautiful creamy cheese and the breading was light and crispy. It was a little greasy and soggy in places. I have always enjoyed this place as an after work place to go. However recently, I've had someone at our table find a human hair in their food the last 3 visits this past year, the final one happening today. And there was not COVID precaution taken, no rearranging seating to encourage a social distancing practice and no staff members were wearing masks. It was a bit disheartening. El Cabrito is a great lunch option if you want something a little less barbecued or fried and you happen to find yourself in Vinita, Oklahoma. You might be underwhelmed by the exterior and interior decor, but the minimum 10 waiters who are waiting to assist you will make sure you get what you need well within the confines of your lunch hour (or really, even a lunch half-hour). The chips and salsa are delish, fresh, and plentiful. I think my crew and I go through a minimum of three baskets each visit, not to mention the fact that they give us each our own salsa dishes. It's the little things. I've only been disappointed by one meal there and it's probably because I didn't order well. The fajitas are my favorite so far. The beans and rice are done well. I like Mexican food. I have eaten at restaurants from California to Florida and Kansas to south Texas. I just don't think it gets much better than El Cabrito. I love their Poblano Relleno. No one makes it like they do. It's a HUGE poblano pepper stuffed with chicken and little white queso or asadero cheese. The chips are thin to average which I like. i don't like thick, cold chips. Their salsa is just right. But most amazing is the speed of service. Your food is delivered in the blink of an eye nearly! Truly amazing speed. They have a large and varied menu and everything I have tried has been very good. We have never had poor service. It's a bright and clean restaurant with interesting murals on the walls. I would never hesitate to recommend El Cabrito to someone. read more
