The Hainan chicken meat was moist and juicy; the skin was springy and crunchy. Perfectly made. The noodle soup is lighter than I expected - I would try the rice next time. The server was super nice though and gave us some extra soup to take home since noodles soak up soup! The beef chow fun had perfect wok hay and the noodles were perfectly cooked with a light chewiness to it. The fish porridge hit the spot. Smooth fish, lightly seasoned and perfect thickness. Best of all, the price was so reasonable! The dishes average 14.99 here. Will definitely be back.

Ambiance is a bright, sun-lit dining room where the company you're with, and the food you've ordered is the focus of the day. Had to do a walk-in order since I had problems doing an online order and I was nearby. So figured it was easier to walk in and order than to call. GK may not be as fast as Panda Express but they were fast in putting my order through. Ordered, and nicely packed: SHRIMP & SCRAMBLED EGGS OVER RICE - Soft scramble eggs had nice sized shrimp, over fluffy, hot rice. Garnished w/a light sprinkling of green onions Delightfully tasty. Think the eggs were a tad diluted because of maybe chicken broth? Still tasty though. HOUSE SPECIAL HAINAN CHICKEN OVER RICE. The flavor and texture of the bone-in Hainan Chicken were good, peanuts were a bit salty. The dab of housemade ginger-onion condiment was definitely inadequate since this adds to the overall taste of the Hainan Chicken plate. The accompanying rice while supposedly steamed w/the broth that the chicken was poached in, was strangely dry. Maybe it was an off day since this is their specialty. Next time. ONG CHOI (WATER SPINACH) w/GARLIC. Simple sautéed greens dish with garlic. Never fails. GARDEN KITCHEN'S menu looks enticing enough for a return visit when I'm in the neighborhood to try NOODLES, both soup and dry-fried, especially TOMATO BEEF PAN FRIED NOODLES, or SALTED FISH & CHICKEN FRIED RICE, SALTY EGG YOLK KABOCHA. Or rice plates like BRAISED PORK KNUCKLE, HOUSEMADE ROAST DUCK, BRAISED BRISKET & TURNIP. And congees, PRESERVED EGG & PORK, ASSORTED PORK OFFAL, MINCED BEEF, and PORK LIVER. P.S. My order from walk-in, order and receiving order in hand - less than 10 minutes!

We ordered the $75 seafood bowl and it even came with a free seafood pasta, which was a nice bonus. The seafood boil itself was really good, flavorful, and packed with seafood. Only thing was the Ultimate sauce was definitely spicier than expected even though I asked for mild. Still tasty, just had more kick than anticipated. The free seafood pasta was okay, but the pasta was a little overcooked and could've used way more garlic flavor. Maybe it was rushed because they got the order out so quickly. Overall though, solid spot for seafood boils, fast service, fresh food, and good portions. I'd come back again.

I came here with some friends two days ago. We ordered two crabs (salted egg yolk & peppercorn…read moreflavors), df chicken wings, garlic noodles, pepper steak cubes, and stir fry pea sprouts. Everything came out piping hot. The crabs were fresh, chicken wings were not overly battered, noodles were al dente, and pea sprouts were in season. Whenever I have crab, my favorite sauce/seasoning is the salted egg yolk. Just a hint of saltiness but packed full of umami flavors. After tasting the peppercorn flavor, I found myself loving it too! All the ingredients (peppercorn, tons of garlic "garlicky heaven", and butter) blended well together like one big happy family. This is my new favorite seasoning, a slight edge above the salted egg yolk, as it doesn't taste as greasy. I wish we had taken photos but I was very hungry. This place also has a full bar with 3 good size tv's, which is nice when you want to watch the nba finals too. I thought check-in was on the left as this was the waiting area, and there was a small 'reception' counter which I found confusing. Soooo just a note, be sure to check-in on the right side. We left a little past closing time (9pm) and they didn't rush us. Oh and we were given ice cream cones for dessert. Yuuummm!!! Will definitely be back and highly recommend. Come hungry and leave happy.

We were warmly greeted then promptly seated. Shortly after our server approached us, asked if we had questions, then took our order. Short time after our food started coming out which we all feasted on. We were all completely satisfied, bellys full from everything we ate. The ervice was awesome, kuddos to the team for being so attentive. We'll definitely be visiting and enjoying again at PPQ Millbrae soon!

Food: 3.75-4.0. Service: 4.0 (counter) | Ambiance: 4.0…read more DIAMOND HEAD GENERAL STORE at 260 ECR in San Bruno is a clean, great little place for refills of Hawaiian Islands pantry goodies and snacks, and hot lunch boxes. The pantry and snack items can be pricey but, hey, they traveled far to be here for you. They've got Zippy's in the fridge! Li Hing powder and Li Hing Mui, good signs of a connection to the Islands. Their hot lunch boxes are not to be missed, including their selection of Musubi's on the right wall as you enter. Take a glance at the menu on the wall, put in your order, pay, and wait. There's some nice seating set up inside across the space. Otherwise seems like more take out. Lunch boxes come w/rice, Mac salad. Ordered to go: KAHLUA PORK - loved the smoky flavors, a tad dry but really appreciated it was not overly salty like a lot of Kahlua Pork offerings. The pickled onions was especially a nice touch and contrast to the smoky pork. The Mac salad was creamy, fresh but was missing something. I'd order this again for the Kahlua Pork and pickled onions alone. LOCO MOCO - ubiquitous beef patties, over rice, luscious gravy, topped with sunny side up eggs. My go-to fav whenever I see Loco Moco! This LOCO MOCO did not disappoint in flavors and taste but I could go with more, yes!, more of their delicious gravy! DIAMOND HEAD GENERAL STORE will see a return visit to try their MOCHIKO CHICKEN, GARLIC SHRIMP, FURIKAKE MAHI, CRAB INARIS, MUSUBIS, CRACK FRIES, and their famous SHAVED ICE! See you there!

Fast forward we stumbled upon Diamond Head General Store -saw the comment that it is related to Morning Wood! Set our GPS and my girls and I were on our way this past Sunday afternoon. SO GLAD WE FOUND THIS PLACE! In a small nondescript building off El Camino Real in San Bruno. Has an authentic vibe as you walk in to the store..the temperature inside also reflected the warmth. 60s outdoors but felt like upper 70s indoors. You walk into a spread of musubi and onigiris on the right side; on the left - shelves of Hawaiian spices, ingredients, snacks, and other specialty items with a row of fridges along the back wall carrying all kinds of Hawaiian and Japanese drinks and other delights. These visual delights lead you right up to the counter. IMPORTANT TO CHECK YOUR HEALTH AT THE DOOR! Not for the faint of heart or those with medical considerations. The dishes are loaded with flavor and that means a generous helping of salt and fried options. What we ordered and shared family style: CRACK fries: we LOOOOVED the CRACK fries - not only the taste but the fries stay uniquely cripsy even after rit cools a bit. 5/5 Moco Loco with Mochiko Chicken: the gravy was requested on the side - glad I opted for this as it was more saltier than I expected; drizzled a fraction of it on the rice for flavor. Generous helping of rice. The HAWAIIAN FIRE WATER (squeez bottle sitting on the table) paired AMAZINGLY with the Mochiko chicken. I enjoyed this pairing more so than the Moco Loco gravy with the rice and eggs. 4/5 CRUNCHY CHILI GARLIC CHICKEN - tasty but boy oh boy is it filling since it's batter held the oil. Comes with a side of MAC salad. A bit too rich for our bellies but no complaints on the taste. 4/5 MEAT JUN - entree available the day we came but don't see it up on the other Yelpers photos. Beef pan fried with a side of soy based dipping sauce. Comes with a side of MAC salad. 4/5 SHAVED ICE - ooh wee! This was a great end to the meal for my girls. They enjoyed the three flavors of mango, guava, ramune - a ring of sweet kazuki beans and a wooden stick of Mochis at the peak of the frozen ice. 5/5 Salmon/Avocado/Eel/Spam Musubi: 10/10 - rice was nicely seasoned and all the flavors just went together so well. Took it for snack later in the day - so very satisfying! Definitely plan to return for the Kayla pork, and try out some other musubis!

It was a buffet luncheon of prime rib, salmon, rigatoni pasta, vegetable medley and a cake dessert which the club provided. There was one tray of each food therefore we were limited to one piece or scoop to each person. The food was a little chintzy as it was half a slice of prime rib and small chunks of salmon. We were able to offer a second helping of rigatoni and prime rib. The prime rib was A little fatty but was tender. I enjoyed The salmon even thought it was small and not overcooked. I think the restaurant could have made up for this if they added bread and butter and perhaps a salad. We were able to stay, mingle and dance in that private room for the entire afternoon which was an added bonus. Everyone had a good time and the staff cut and plated the cake for all. The room for pretty heated even when the windows were open even with the four ceiling fans running. Otherwise, everyone had a fun afternoon. Thank you sixteen mile house!
