Speed of service was awesome. However when I got home and opened my order the food quality was awful. Where's the meat like it doesn't even cover the taco no cheese then the sour cream just thrown on top so messy. I understand prices going up but why did the quality go down? I saw you guys were super busy but it still doesn't justify me spending $36 on 3 plates of tacos then leaving a $5 tip to get home and open a dinner that looks like this. Buy one get one free margaritas deal? $1 if flavored? DONE! The margarita deal drew me in (I think it's for Wednesday's) but the food was delicious too. I didn't have my phone at the time so I don't have photos, but I will get some next time! Definitely try the house and strawberry margaritas! For food I highly recommend the super burrito. It was delicious. Perfect amount of each ingredient for filling. Their salsa is good and their chips aren't overly greasy or too salty. The quac was also delicious. I enjoy Tacos de Carne' Asada and theirs are very good. My wife likes the burritos and I have to agree that they are very tasty. This is an updated review after several return trips for dinner. The service has been utterly FANTASTIC and amazing on each of our return trips while our orders have all been delivered fast and completely accurate. The food has always been amazing here and our only downside was the order accuracy and service during busy times but we must say they seem to have improved on all of the things we found issue with on our first visit. This past week I have probably referred at least five couples, telling them each that El Campesino is by far and above our favorite Mexican Cuisine in the area. We always order chorizo tacos and tacos al pastor. They are always delicious. Service was good and our food arrived in a timely manner. The standout for this meal was the salsa bar. We've been here plenty of times and don't remember the salsa bar. I'm assuming it's a fairly new addition. The salsa bar is complimentary and there are many different varieties. Our favorite salsa was made from grilled chiles de arbol and tomatillos. It was nose-running spicy, but a manageable spicy. It was hotter than jalapeños, but not as spicy as habanero, which was also on the bar. The tacos are very good and a solid 4, but the salsa bar makes it a 5. read more

I really like this restaurant. I had Chicken and Steak Fajitas and my sister had Shrimp Nachos. According to her these were the best Shrimp Nachos Ever! I was a fan of the frozen Peach Margaritas and so was my sister. And I was very happy with my meal over all. Everything was seasoned well. I muat say that I think this is one of the best Mexican spots I have tried in Georgia. I did have two small issues. ¹ The steak was a little over some and 2 The free nachos were cold. Ordered chicken fajitas for two and got home to find enough chicken inside for 2 skimpy fajitas. Called and spoke to manager who barely could interpret what I was saying. All he would do is keep mumbling that it was right for the order. Wasn't willing to make it right even if I drove back up there. Shitty place with even shittier customer service. Hope this place folds up soon. Will not be going here ever again! Senor Fiesta is a much better place to eat anyway. Don't waste your time or money at this place! the past 3 visits to this location we have been unsatisfied. the first visit our order was correct but we were charged $6 more than the online menus stated. The manager said their prices had gone up and the page had just not been updated yet, our second visit we ordered 2 shredded chicken taco salads both were missing the beans and barely had anything else, today we ordered 6 soft taco supremes and got hard ones Instead. When I called to complain they laughed, when I ask his name he gave me two different names and when I ask to speak with the manager he said if I called to complain again they would call the police. poor management, poor customer service, and overall not a place I would recommend. A fraction of one star would be a generous rating. I'm on holiday with my guy and our two children, whom all voted Mexican food for lunch. I'm not sure how this place has a higher rating. First foul: Ordered a margarita, lime, triple Sec and tequila only, call liquor Centenario Reposado, 12 oz, no salt. Received an 8 oz margarita with sour mix, salt, and an orange garnish. I'm certified in many different areas including mixology, spirits, bar management, etc, so what I received was unacceptable. The tequila I ordered was not top shelf, yet I was charged $8 + $6.50 margarita price. Ordered vegetarian taco salad-- that means NO MEAT. Meat causes instant vomiting with me. There was chicken in my salad, which made me violently ill, immediately. The server argued to my guy that I ordered the vegetarian taco salad with chicken, which was a lie, a contradiction in terms, and he wouldn't repeat it in my presence. We ordered a side of beans for the table and it was practically slammed onto the table. Our daughter's chimichanga was covered in runny guacamole, sour cream, and a lot of lettuce. We requested a basic chimi, only cheese sauce on top. After all this and a demand to speak to a manager, the server tried to overcharge us by $22! He charged dinner prices for lunch items and overcharged for the margarita. The margarita, part of my meal, wasn't what I ordered and I had just vomited, so it SHOULD HAVE BEEN immediately removed from our bill. The server continued to argue with us. So we went on a search for the manager ourselves to resolve the issue, whom adjusted the bill immediately and was somewhat apologetic? Though if it were my establishment wherein the ingredients had made a customer sick, not by taste, but by a major error from the kitchen-- AND if my server tried to gouge customers-- that family wouldn't pay a penny and would leave with a thousand apologies. Stopped in for the first time just after the lunch rush. We were seated immediately and got our chips and salsa in less than a minute. Alberto was an attentive server and took our orders quickly. Food was delivered very quickly. Chips were warm and the salsa was delicious - not too spicy and had the look of homemade. Veggie fajitas were very tasty. Serving size was generous. Speedy Gonzalez was very tasty, as well. Our frozen strawberry Margarita was exceptional, with just the right amount of tequila and a wonderful strawberry flavor - what a treat! The ground beef tasted old (we didn't eat it), the beans tasted like they had just been dumped out of a can, the salsa had NO flavor whatsoever, and the margarita had at least a TABLESPOON of salt down at the bottom of the glass. El Campesino is probably the best restaurant in Dawsonville, if you consider food for money value. Must-haves; Texas Nacho's, Pollo Asada, El Campesino Special. Atmosphere is great. It's a loud place, so don't go for an intimate date during peak hours, but its a blast with a group of friends. Service is top notch. Never have an empty glass or mug, chips and salsa flow like the Rio Grande, and the waiters will usually try to talk us gringos into upsizing our beers, with a pretty good rate of success. The food is prepared quickly and efficiently. Food is great. I have -never- had a bad meal here. Check what I mentioned above as must-haves. Pricing is FANTASTIC. So much value for the portions and quality. Alcoholic drinks are delicious.... And stout! You can't go wrong here. read more

This place is quick, sit down Mexican food. The food comes really quick so I know most of it is already made. The red sauce they pour on their burritos tastes like tomato paste. They have the nice thin chips and give you a container of salsa to pour into a bowl. Everyone is friendly here, but nothing stands out in terms of decor or food. WOW!! I have just had the best and most amazing fajita seafood plate I have ever tasted. I have been from Hawaii to Cancun from Texas to Canada and I have never sampled a seasoning so well. If you look at my posts, there are rarely five stars given by myself. But this place deserves the recognition it needs, I give credit where credit is due. This is the most amazing explosion in your mouth SEAFOOD plate I have ever had. The seafood fajita place comes with calamari scallops shrimp fish onions and bell peppers and that is the best dish on the menu well worth the $17 I paid , & I would go back and pay double just to have it again.
