    Calamari
    Sheila R.

Food: 4.5 Service: 5 Cleanliness: 5 Ambiance: 5 My husband and I were on a road trip from up north and wanted one last good meal before heading home. We found El Capi on Yelp and were impressed by the great reviews. When we walked in, it was completely empty, which made us a little hesitant--but the vibes felt right, so we decided to give it a shot. First impressions? The place is super cute and spotless--huge for me. Even the bathroom was chef's kiss clean (major points!). The server was friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Booths were spacious and spotless. You can order from physical menus or scan a QR code, which is always a nice option. Here's what we ordered: * Caldo de Camarón * Calamari * Spicy Edamame * Two shrimp tacos * One fish taco * Shrimp tostada Everything was seriously delicious. The edamame had a great kick, and the calamari was perfectly cooked--crispy, not rubbery--and paired with a zesty tartar sauce that really elevated the dish. The tacos and tostada were fresh and flavorful. My only critique? The tortillas. That's the one area I'd love to see improved. Handmade or at least warmed on the comal would have really taken the tacos to the next level. Ours felt like they came from a microwave or warmer, which was a bit of a letdown. As for the caldo--it was flavorful and came with a generous side of onion, cilantro, and avocado, which I loved. The shrimp-to-broth ratio was perfect, but I wish there had been more veggies in the soup. A few more chunks of potato, some carrots, maybe a bit of zucchini or even corn would have made it feel more complete. One other win: the beans. My husband couldn't stop raving about them. We're not sure if they were made in-house, but they didn't taste canned, and that's a win in our book. By the time we were leaving, more people were coming in--which was nice to see. I have a feeling El Capi might be a newer spot, and I genuinely hope it takes off. If you're in the area, give them a shot and support a small business with a ton of potential!

We loved our first time eating here. We met up with our sons who go to Chico State to celebrate our daughter's birthday. The food was delicious and the staff was amazing. Thank you for making my daughter's birthday special.

The restaurant is nicely decorated and clean. The menu is not your traditional Mexican restaurant. Only fish or shrimp tacos, even though the next item is carne asada or chicken fajitas. Pretty much everything is shrimp shrimp and shrimp. What I found odd was their soft drinks - regular Pepsi but only Diet Coke in a warm can no less. Had to ask for ice. They bring you a small bowl of tortilla chip which appear to be made at the restaurant. The presentation of the food is done quite well. Your food is served on a large rectangular plate with a small ramekin formed rice and small 1/4 cup refried bean. I had the shrimp taco's which come either a soft or hard shell. Shrimp was not over cooked but lacked any real flavor. A small side of 1000 island dressing was provided. What was shocking was the prices !! $72 for lunch for 3 people (tacos). We were in Arbuckle !! not San Francisco. The place has a sports bar setting with TV's with a Art Deco decor. It appears they have a secret menu for local's because I saw their food and it was not $20+ per dish. As for service, are waitress was essentially clueless and spoke very little English. Always had to ask for something but only if we were able to find her. Having grown up nearby - this restaurant clear does not fit the AG community it is in. It's not a traditional Mexican restaurant, ie. Tacos, burritos and enchiladas. Bottom line if you are going to change this high prices then service comes with it. The food flavor was C+

Would have been a 5 star, because it's pretty authentic food from Nayarit (serving mariscos with white rice, not regular Mexican rice like in other restaurants), but man, service was pretty bad! Waiter never came back after she took our order. In addition, it took a pretty long time to get food, and it wasnt even packed. Coulda been a 5, dang!

See my receipt as always!…read more This place is in Williams off the main street ( 7th Street behind Granzellas).I was recommended by a friend to give it a try for breakfast. Glad I did! They open at 8am and I ordered the breakfast burrito and a crunchy taco ( both carne asada ). I ordered it to go. What I liked is that they were already getting busy which is always a good sign! The burrito was HUGE and wrapped up nicely and tight! It had plenty of meat and bell peppers and onions with egg and potatoes. The crunchy asada taco was full of meat! Burrito is seriously enough for 2 to 3 people! Love that they included different salsas ( I like super hot!) Along with sour cream and chips. It's air conditioned inside with plenty of seating and they also have outside seating. They do a really busy take out business as well! It was clean inside with plenty of parking. Such a great experience with a kind waitress! Definitely recommend!

It WAS instant and I have NEVER had any restaurant serve instant! I left it on the table, figuring that was her tip! Probably gonna try to off it on the next sucker. The food, otherwise, was as expected from some restaurant that serves it's customers instant coffee as fresh brewed. Do they really think we are idiots? Of tourists who'll never be back anyway? Worst is that when I paid the bill, the big ugly cook had to stand menacingly at her side, snarling, I guess to intimidate. For the lousy $22. lunch, I thanked them, smiled, and will rot in Hell before either I or anyone else I can tell about this dump will ever go back! (Spits in the dust!)

The restaurant seemed dirty and uncleanly both in the inside and out. The lady who I picked up my order from was nice but the food was just unbearable. The sauce/seasoning was fine but the crawfish meat was tuff and rubbery and discolored. The fat from the crawfish is supposed to be an orangish-yellow color and this crawfish was green and it looked repulsive. I had to throw it out it was practically inedible and I felt like i'd get sick if I ate it. I can tell that crawfish was cooked dead and was probably sitting there dead for a while before it was cooked.

I started with the singapore vermicelli noodles with shrimp, onions, bean sprouts, and scrambled eggs, in a curry sauce. It also comes with bell peppers, which I asked them to leave off, and I asked for the sauce to be mild. The food was delicious! The noodles were perfectly done, there was a good amound of all of the ingredients, and everything was cooked perfectly. The curry sauce had a very mild spice, which was perfect for me. It was just a little bit salty for my personal taste, but not overly so. I do realize that everybody's tastes are different. For desert, I ordered six of the Jin Dui. Sesame donut balls, filled with a sweet bean paste. They were excellent. Not overfried, and the filling was delicious. Not too sweet. I had enough food for 2 full meals. The price for all I got was very reasonable. I want to order from here again. Thanks!!!

Always a good time at C2!…read more I don't always make the trek here, but when I do, I make sure to visit C2. The service is superb. The staff is courteous and friendly, and they check on you during almost every course to get feedback. The dim lighting, personal lamp on every table, and white tablecloths give it the classic steakhouse feel. They used to have these cool light-up menus that illuminated as you opened them. I'm a little sad they don't have those anymore due to vendor issues--it was a small, thoughtful detail that really made a mark on me. The food is great. The steak is always perfectly seasoned--not overly salty or overdone, just right to the point where I don't need to add anything else. Even the roasted bulb of garlic that comes with the steak is perfect for adding extra flavor if I want to. The sides are what you'd expect from a classic steakhouse. One thing that sets them apart, though, is the bread. They always have a great variety, plus a huge helping of butter on the side. If this place were closer to home, I'd probably be here every other month. So it's probably a good thing that it's far away.

The table service was spot on, as if they were watching our every move and no dish was left on the table that was not being consumed. The entrees were well sized and met or should I say, exceeded our expectations. The filet was so tender I could cut it with my fork. The cheesecake had cloud like texture and was not heavy feeling in our tummies. We were quite pleased with our meal and will be returning in the future.
