This place is tasty. Hole in the wall Mexican that meats expectations. The downside is that they can mess up your order. I encourage you to ask them to wrap the tacos separately because you may notice you're missing some by the time you come home which sucks. The food of this Restaurant is not worth getting. The place is unsanitary and they wear no gloves. Lady in front is rude and impatient, and refused to give my order simply because I didn't sound like the person on the phone (one of my family members ordered). She gave my order to the wrong person and mixed up my order with somebody else. We toke the food anyway and tried it but it was terribly over spiced, which it was too spicy and didn't taste good. The al Pastor was flavorless. The carne asada was good but it would have been so much better if it was a little crispier. Salsas were very flavorful so that edged it up to a three. Damn the food is good. I have been here so many times, and I always have to get the nachos. They have carne asada, guacamole, beans, chopped tomatoes and lettuce, a bit of sour cream, and melted mozzarella cheese. None of that yellow salt water people call nacho cheese. The meat is seasoned enough to have its own taste, but not enough to overpower the taste of every thing else. That is good, because the beans are amazing, and the guacamole is out of this world. When you get a bit of every thing on one chip, man is that good. My father loves the menudo here, he used to come all the time. He says that my mom can not do what they do to menudo, and she is a pretty damn good cook. It is a bit disappointing, because most of the time there are drunk men or angry homeless people outside that scare people off. I have seen people heading over here many of times, but then changes their minds and walk the other way. Personally I still go in regardless, because the inside is clam and nice to hang out in. The people who take our order are sometimes scary, because they seem really angry all the time. Other than that, this place is still worth going to. read more

Menudo was so tender, although the soup was not thick as he was used to, but really would you not want Tripe to be tender rather than rip out the teeth? This is my favorite burrito spot in the valley. I go here pretty often to get my fix. It is pretty hard to find spots that sell good tasting Mexican food that doesn't make you run to the bathroom for the rest of the night.The carne asada burritos are my favorite. & there is conveniently a liquor store next door so you can also have your cerveza with it when you take it to go. When I am driving I don't usually let people cut me off. But today I prepared myself to flip them off until I noticed it was my burrito lady from this spot. So I smiled and waved at her instead. I entered on a rainy night, the cold breeze freckled my husband's vintage Broncos jacket with rain drops. Ordered two carne asada burrito (cheese inside burritos) combos + 2 large horchatas. Have been to El Caporal in Sylmar which has set a high precedent on Caporal restaurants in the valley. Red sauce is bitter fiery pit of hell which is A1. Green sauce is a bit watery for those less inclined to sleep with a bottle of Pepto under your pillow. Had to drench my burrito for flavor with sauce and a light sprinkle of salt, horchata was too sweet it hurt my teeth. There was no cream or tortilla chips in both of our plates. I would say for $25 I am taking El Caporal to Caso Cerrado con La Doctora Maria Polo for a refund. I give it a 2 out of 10. Wait...I don't have a husband. read more
