Either the food is really bland or my expectations are high. I ordered a torta de milanesa combo. Comes with a taco,rice and beans. The Milanesa was bland. No flavor. The Taco was an Asada Taco it was really good as well as the rice. It was very flavorful and I could eat a whole bowl of it lol. The beans were ehhh. The cashier was really attentive and nice which is great. It's a big open area so it can be private, as well as, they have good music playing in the background. 3.5 stars. In a tiny plaza with limited parking in the lot. There is a good amount of seating inside but you can smell the cleaning products. The staff seems to speak limited English. The only service you get is ordering so keep an eye out for your food to come out of the kitchen and it comes out pretty quick. This place is definitely not about presentation. You get your food on a styrofoam plate on a plastic tray. The chips are just sprinkled onto your plate. Chips are great. The al pastor is different from what I'm used to but they were flavorful. Went here for the first time because it was close to work the food is horrible. The quesadilla was so burnt that when I opened my food at the office every one could smell the burnt smell and it tasted just as awful. Hardly any cheese and it's really hard to mess up a quesadilla. Excellent food chicken tacos. I don't speak Spanish so some of the food required translations from my phone. The cashier was really nice trying to translate for me. They even let me sample the chivas (goat) and it did not taste goaty. It was like shredded beef. I looked it up and it said that it's more healthy than chicken. So yummy. Next time I'll try that goat soup. I would definitely come back to try more. The place is clean but not great decor. Simple. At least the photos on the wall were helpful!! Personally my favorite quick bite Mexican spot In the Valley. Not over priced, service is good, the salsa actually taste like salsa (not overly sweet) & the portions are great. By the good reviews, I surely thought I was in luck to have a nearby Mexican restaurant that is in close proximity to my house. It was a Saturday afternoon, maybe three other patrons inside. I asked if they had some sort of fish or shrimp tacos, where immediately I was told no. I opted for some cheese enchiladas, seems safe enough. Ten dollars, and maybe three minutes later I get my order. I think to myself wow, that was fast! Only to arrive home and have a cold plate of enchiladas. The cheese wasn't melted, the sauce was canned, and to make matters worse the rice was flavourless! How do you even mess up rice?? The beans were just about the only thing I ate. Terrible, I called in 30 mins before closing and they notified me they were still open, I responded okay awesome I'll be there in 10. Upon arriving the cashier appears to be locking the doors and turning the lights off. When I walked up to the door, she just proceeded to just shrug her shoulders saying oh well, sorry we are closed ‍ I find that extremely rude , especially since you could've just told me on the phone that you were closing and I would've just gone elsewhere. I've been coming here for years and have never been treated like this, especially for stopping by 30-45 mins before closing multiple times. Clearly it's not being handled at the proper temperature. The food is fair. If you are hungry, this place will fill your tummy for a reasonable rate. The 'cafe de olla' is incredibly delicious and if you ask politely you might even get a refill. After seeing this place many times and it's across the street from kohl's I went here for the first time today, parking can be a little hard but you can find one, I ordered 2 carne asada tacos and enchilada combo to go, lady was nice and food came fast! Called and asked what time they closed they said 10 PM and we arrived at 9:20 PM just to find out that they were closing doors already. we couldn't eat in so we were forced to take to go . in my opinion bad customer service and if they were leaving exactly at 10 they should close their doors at nine. wouldn't recommend it to nobody read more
