A small little hole in the wall place located in a strip mall which I had no expectations of besides getting something to eat while I was waiting at another business close by. I decided on getting the California burrito with asada as the meat and it had avocado, sour cream, rice, and beans. I can't say that anything really stood out besides it was a giant burrito and as far as flavor goes it was pretty good since I could taste everything in it and none of the ingredients stood more than the others. I was in the neighborhood when I passed by and saw this establishment. They are located in a strip mall, so ample parking. The outside of the building gave me hole on the wall vibes so I had to check it out. The interior matches the exterior but the floors, tables, and salsa bar are all clean. I ordered 2 carnitas burritos with everything. It came to $31 and change. The cashier tells me all the salsas are located in a 2door prep station next to the counter. I lift the lid and find individually wrapped, roasted jalapeños, a red salsa, a green salsa, limes and radishes. Everything is fresh and very flavorful. After about 5 minutes my order is ready. I grab the bag and head home. I get home and unpack a bag of chips with packets of salt, and 2 giant burritos. I cut one in half and take a bite. The avocado and pico de gallo are super fresh. The meat is tender and juicy. It has a nice fresh flavor and finishes with a hint of garlic. Overall the burrito is solid, I think it needs more salt but they did give me salt packets so I can't complain. I do wish the burrito had some cheese. The salsas had nice heat the roasted jalapeño was great. I would come back and try more things. read more

My family and I have been coming to this place for over ten years for a good reason, the friendly customer service and the great food. Well that was until a couple years ago when they began to quickly increase their prices. Today was my first time there in about six months and was not expecting to buy my most expensive burrito ( The price is now higher than many Mexican dine-in chains; e.g. Acapulco and Chevy's). Though the nostalgia from my past great experiences with Carnitas Michoacan told me to go along with my purchase expecting the usual high quality burrito. I was not expecting a burrito composed almost entirely of rice, cream, and beans. Note that my burrito was supposed to be a carne asada super burrito. I'm disappointed, and considering all the other options for better burritos for almost half the price, I probably won't be going anytime soon. Sunday night cravings fulfilled! Originally we were going to order with postmates but since it was our first time trying Carnitas Michoacán we decided to drive down the street instead. Delicious delicious food and friendly staff. We ordered the Berria- flavorful and tender meat perfect comfort meal for cold nights (too bad it was almost 80degrees outside) also ordered the pastor burrito and a Care asada taco combo plate served with rice and beans. If I could give this place 0 stars I definitely would. This place is OVERPRICED for the quality of food you get and on top of that they still charge you $1 dollar if you are paying with a card. I ordered the taco dorado plate and let me tell you the beef has to be extremely old I'm beyond positive Taco Bell gives you fresher ingredients then this place and for half the price. So if you want to pay $17 dollars for an horchata and some crunchy tacos you could get at Taco Bell then this is the place for you. There is no alphabet rating anyplace it looks greasy and grimes from the time you walk in! They charged 9$ for a burrito. With tough steak. No cheese and mostly beans. I was in the mood for a Menudo and decided to try this spot. I ordered the soup and after adding all the condiments-lemon, oregano, onions, cilantro, and crushed peppers, the taste was vague. I felt the soup was really heavy thick taste compared to other Menudos I have tried. I wanted to check this place out but think I'll stick to my favorite spot. What I found perturbing is that I pointed out that he was charging me the wrong price for the food I ordered, based on the prices posted on the sign. He unapologetically stated he was charging me the higher price. So the review is mainly about their awesome burritos since I haven't really tried anything else on their menu (but others have said that their carne asada tacos are bomb). The service was friendly and the tacos came off the grill with pretty good speed. The usual fixings and drinks were available. I didn't try any of the other stuff, and to be honest, it's probably not worth driving out to Sun Valley when there are countless great taquerías closer to wherever you live, but it worked great when I was looking for something out by the airport. I have tried and recommend the following dishes: Carne Asada Burrito, Caldo de Res (fantastic beef soup-be ready to wait a while for it though maybe better to call ahead for this), Carne Asada Taco, Carne Asada Torta. They have a good seafood menu to explore as well - I am going to start trying those dishes next. Salsa bar is great and includes grilled jalepenos and onions.
