No one's ever offered to feed me a canoe! So imagine my surprise when it's just one of the normal items on the menu. I was shocked. I was amazed. So I had to order it. Turns out it's a fried banana, sliced in half and filled with Salvadoran cream and topped with raisins. Pretty tasty. The pupusas were solid and curtido was deliciously spicy and interestingly kind of dry. Good solid chow. 2013 #78 / 365

Not a very sanitary place I was about to order when I saw this.. I wouldn't trust the food either.

The masa was perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and the filling was packed with flavor. The cheese was rich, creamy, and incredibly delicious. You can truly taste the quality of the ingredients; they definitely don't cut corners. The pupusa is not huge and It's not small. It's perfectly proportioned just like my mother in law makes them Every bite reminded me of the traditional flavors of El Salvador. Pair it with the curtido and salsa, and it's perfection. If you want a pupusa that stays true to its Salvadoran roots, this is the place to go. I'll definitely be coming back! Ashley is amazing and you can pay ZELLE! Thank you guys we will be back

It was right next door to my appointment and I thought I'd give it a try while waiting for my mom to finish up with her pedicure. They are $3.50 per tamale and it took approximately 10 minutes for my order of two to come out. I think they were steaming them. The restaurant was quite large and there was only one other customer there at about 4 PM on a Thursday. They had the ARV playing on the TVs and have bar seating. The service was friendly. Tamale is 8.5/10: it's packed with a lot of really fun, filling items, like a green bean, potato, olive, and hominy with white meat chicken. The chicken is a little bit dry. But the tamale is very flavorful!

I used to love the food from this place, specially the "mestizo" plate, and the red chilaquiles…read morewith chorizo and eggs. About a month ago we went to eat there, and I ordered the mestizo, but the meat was so tough that my hand hurt just from trying to cut the meat, it was so tough to chew, and to me it seemed that the meat was boiled and just heat up on a pan, it was not grilled, it was pale. The casamiento (rice n beans) was super dry. We were the only ones there, that should have been a clue. Today we ordered 3 red chilaquiles with chorizo and eggs (they used to mix the chorizo with the scrambled eggs). The rice was so tough, it was not edible, it was undercooked, what we got were the scrapes that were probably stuck to the pan. The chorizo was not mixed with the eggs, they just placed a whole piece on top of the eggs, the eggs had zero salt. The orders were missing the crema and queso fresco like they used to. The chilaquiles were bitter because some of the tortilla chips were burned. They charged my husband $100 Just for 3 orders of chilaquiles. They charge $4.00 for the small piece of chorizo they add to the plates. So the total should had been $72.40 with tax. I noticed when I tried to replicate the order online that they automatically add a 15% tip. I am sure they do the same when you order in person for to go orders or dine in because their totals never matched my totals. My husband never asks for a receipt, so there was no way for me to double check, but today he told me how much he paid because he saw how upset I was with the scrapes they sent us. This was the last time we will give our business to this sorry a** place. I took a screenshot of how much our total should have been without a tip because our order was to go.

I was skeptical of this spot, but my fiancee is Salvadorian and I knew it would likely make him…read morehappy so we decided on this spot for breakfast. First sign to walk away should have been that you have to ring a doorbell to be let in, but whatever, we were already there with company and hungry, so no turning back at this point. The outside and inside of the restaurant is old and outdated, the tables are wobbly and the cherry on top is the cracked dishes. The lady taking the order does not speak a single word of English, so my fiancee translated "chilaquiles" for her. I felt very out of place. The food has 4 star prices with 2 star quality and presentation. If I'm going out to eat I'm not just looking for convenience, I'm also looking for taste and service. The drinks were great, I got the passion fruit juice, fiancee had a bottled Coke and bestie went with a horchata. I paid with card, and I typically decline the tip so I can leave that in cash, but somehow the register decided to add a tip anyway, luckily I noticed so I didn't leave an extra tip. If you don't speak Spanish, don't bother coming here. I would love to give them a try for other items, but sadly the breakfast experience left a bitter enough taste that I will not be returning here.
