The interior is spacious and functional, but in my humble opinion, it could use more aesthetic or character. People tend to turn away just because the inside does not feel or look inviting. The Pupusas here are soooo THICK & full of cheese, beans or chicharrón. Delicious! Service was a little slow but after receiving my order I could tell they take pride in their food. They had a DJ playing getting ready for the night club I think it turns into. read more

Placed an order on a Friday night so I knew to expect a long wait. I placed a phone order (they had live music so it was very hard to hear on both sides of phone). Ordered pupusas revueltas, queso con loroco, and calabaza con queso. I also ordered yucca. The pupusas were $3 each and they were able to accommodate my request of jalapeño. The pupusas are great, the service was great, and the prices were very reasonable in relation to portion size. The salsa was lacking something, maybe it was late and last of batch? This place has changed names a couple of times. It is now a salvadorian restaurant, I hope this one lasts because I really like their food, this is my go to place for chicken soup, the service is always attentive and the owners are friendly and welcoming. We've come here a few times and we always leave satisfied, their pupusas and breakfasts are really good too. The inside is not luxurious but is well kept and clean. The parking is very limited so if you find parking on the street, go for it. read more

First of all, I am super happy that I gave this place a chance through Grub-hub! I usually Order Pupusas pick up at Carrusel Bakery and Let me tell you That that recently they have not been on Point ! It is too hot to cook, so I decided to try this awesome place! Their Pupusas are easily, the best that I have tried in the valley ! they arrived hot fresh with an amazing cheese pull !!! I had to call the restaurant because the option for jalapeño and cheese was not available on Grubhub. I spoke with Rosy , she was super nice and accommodating , she told me just choose queso and Loroco pupusas and Ill know you want Jalapeño and Cheese I I will literally be ordering more stuff from this place. Great quality excellent price great customer service 10 stars for this amazing restaurant. I hope to eat at their place soon and try their fried calamari that looks delicious. The service was atrocious, period. Our waitress took what felt forever to come to our table. We had to wave her down to get her attention multiple times since she never came to our table to check in on us. We asked for the bill and waited yet again until I had to get up and walk up to her during a conversation she was having with some drunk customers and asked for the bill which she responded with "yeah in a bit" and continued to talk to customers until we had to ask her for the bill again. 1 star well deserved. read more

Pupusa TIME!!! Holy hell one night I was in the mood for some refried beans, cream, platanos *fried bananas* and of course Pupusas! If someone thats reading this has no idea what pupusas are..they are stuffed floured tortillas with cheese inside. No this isnt some quesadilla that you get a taco bell, this is the real deal! You have to try it. Me coming from the valley, there isnt many pupuserias around my block but i found La Fonda de Don Cuper the other night. The place is AWESOME, it looks like a cuban home. You go inside and its a home, literally a home! Has old pictures of family members, famous musicians ( a huge A+ for having the beatles up there) and cute furniture to give you the comfort enviornment. Off to the menu!! You have your usual Salvadoran foods. Pupusas (different kinds) Breakfast Menu, Cocktails, Seafood, and has a cute small American food section. Have i told you guys that the food taste was....um.... On a quest to find the best salvadorian food in LA, I have been to a number of places. Little did I know that the best one yet would be so nearby. First, this place has an attention to atmosphere and decor that other salvadorian places do not even attempt. It is quite small, but also has a patio for when weather is warmer (very cold the night we were there). They had karaoke on a Friday night, but only one guy was signing. He seemed to be the host, and he was a good singer thank goodness. So with that out of the way, on to the food. It was wonderful. Now, this is not fast food. It does take some time to come, but when it arrives you can tell it was made fresh! We had a sampling of a few things: pupusas revueltas (these were good, the curtido is very spicy) panes con gallina (tastes like a homemade chicken sandwich with assorted veggies, a mayo based sauce on a french roll) platanos fritos con casamiento (tasty as always, and i noticed these were not dripping with grease as in some places) chilate y nuegados (nuegados=two little dumpling like things, bananas and sweet potatoes doused with a sweet syrup, in which I could see included cloves. chilate=a corn based drink served in a half coconut shell that is like a chaser to kill the sweet of nuegados). I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu, as I looked around the restaurant and saw what other people had. I highly highly recommend this place. read more

Every aspect of the food was perfect. I got the carne asada and it was cooked medium as ordered. I barely needed a knife it fell apart so well. Let's start with the parking. It has its own parking lot on the back, that's very convenient. The place looks clean, it has some tables outside but we sat inside. It's small and cozy, I liked the atmosphere. It has 2 big TVs. The service was good, the waitress was nice. The food: I got the traditional breakfast plate and my sister got two pupusas. The food was good, decent but not the best Salvadorian food I've tried. The eggs -scrambled with vegetables- were a little salty, the chips and salsa were on point, the coffee was really good. I guess the pupusas were just not the best I've tried. I may come back to try other stuff on the menu but definitely not the pupusas. The price is very reasonable. We paid $22 for 2 pupusas, 2 coffees, and the traditional breakfast. read more

I had the carne asada combo which comes with skirt steak and 4 jumbo shrimp and a dinner salad. My mom had the yucca with chicharon, my dad had the sopa de pata (soup) over all the sopa (soup) was delicious according to my dad best ever . My mom and I shared the yucca and the combo plate it was tasty but for the price I would of excepted a better choice meat.... I tried the Pupusas with cheese and loroco, coctel de conchas, and ensalada (beverage). The pupusas were really good. Fresh tasting loroco and the cheese they use is rich and strong. It's accompanied with a delicious, fresh tasting curtido (pickled cabbage slaw) and some sauce that comes in a squeeze bottle which I really didn't care for. This was $3 and totally worth it! A- Coctel de conchas has chunks of black clams, rough chopped white onion, radish, tomatoes, and maybe a hint of worcestershire sauce and thats it! So its a a little plain but honestly very fresh tasting. It tasted like the ocean. I did have to pick out some pieces of broken shells which was kind of annoying and unwanted. I also added lemon juice and salt but that was for my own personal liking. This was about $13 which was a rather good price for this type of dish. C+ My ensalada drink was sooo good. You gotta try this if you come here. Its light and refreshing with pieces of fresh diced fruit and shredded lettuce. A Parking was easy. They have plenty of parking in the back and on the street. The only thing that i found odd was that the entrance was in the back. Overall my experience was good and I will be coming back to try other things. I give 3.5 stars.
