This place is spectacular. I'm not even exaggerating. Every single thing was so full of flavor & really made me tear up. The owner and cooks are friendly and luckily I got there early and we spent a good 5 minutes talking. The inside of restaurant is a piece of art itself, it's beautiful! They did a great job with this one because you'd never expect to find this place in that area. Take your time and look up the history of this place if you can. It's truly a gem.

This has always been a great breakfast spot and today was no different. I had a shrimp, mushroom, onion and spinach omelette that was very good. The beans were a little under seasoned but still good. Service is always kind and friendly. You do need to come checkout the inside of this place. It's a work of art.

We were in Socal from NorCal celebrating our anniversary and on my list was to bring my husband to Chicano Park so he could experience it for the first time. I love me some chilaquiles and this place has the best I've had in Cali!! The service is basically order at front and wait for food. The place is cute with funny quotes. I enjoy this place and the food won't disappoint!! I recommend it!! Check it out and come get you some Chicano experience!! If you leave room go the fish guys for some of the best fish tacos you have ever had!!

Still delicious! I took my father in law for his first ever chilaquiles. el Carrito did not disappoint. I love the paper cafeteria plates, so old school. These have the right amount of spice, frijoles are creamy and just the right amount of potatoes. What better way to compliment breakfast than w Mex Coke. They've also added some high tops outside which are perfect. Muy Bueño y mí favorita

Visited this Friday morning. LOVED. The staff goes above and beyond with their customer service. Super helpful and kind. You can order first at the cashier and sit then they bring your food. Orrr you can sit and order from a qr code at a table and I thought that was unique and cool. Everything was delicious, flavorful, and fresh. My favorite was their carnitas on the chipotle chilaquiles.

I was really looking forward to Mexican food and decided to try El Carrito in Barrio Logan. We ordered the enchiladas, Chilaquiles Chicanos, and a carnitas taco. Overall, the food was average (and a bit disappointing). The enchilada sauce lacked a bit of flavor, and the meat inside was kind of bland. The rice looked like it had been sitting for a while, some grains were hard and dry. The chilaquiles were okay. It didn't fully satisfy, though the machaca had good flavor. Service was a mix. Nice staff. However we waited over 30 minutes for our food. One positive was being able to refill our agua de horchata. The restaurant has eclectic décor and plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors.

I remember coming here years ago with my dad, we sat in the main compartment-- known as their trolley car seating area. And I recently went again, but since I was with a large group we sat in their extended seating area. This area could hold a lot of people! There was also seating outside in front of the establishment, but with smaller tables (seats 4 people at most). The workers are kind & if you want any recommendations they will give it to you. Their menu is big, some prices might look high-- but you actually get a variety of items with it that makes it worth it. I ordered 2 carnitas tacos since I wasn't super hungry for a burrito. The tacos were perfectly sized and stuffed with meat. The onions were crunchy but without that raw onion bite-- which is why I ate them. (: usually I take the onions off, but not this time. In addition, the guac was vibrant and fresh. I also liked the tortillas because it wasn't thin & broke when you bend it. It was slightly thicker than your usual and had a softness to it. The salsa that came with it was slightly smoky but not spicy. My friends ordered a variety of items off the menu and devoured it! So it's safe to say, you'll be good with anything you order. One friend even ordered pancakes! She said it was fluffy and the bacon/eggs were delicious. The cucumber agua that they had was well loved by everyone that ordered it, some went back for seconds. I recommend El Carrito if you're in Barrio Logan!

Good chilaquiles. Beans, potatoes, and rice are nothing special. Overpriced for a taco shop. Nice covered patio with plenty of seating. Fast, friendly service. Meh.

This morning I woke up feeling depressed, I took the trolley over to Barrio Logan and got a Cafe de Olla and a Torta Logan and now I feel not so depressed. The torta was pretty good and the cafe de olla was nice but not the best I have had.

This was a hard rating to decide. I debated between 3 and 4 stars. I just couldn't get over the amount paid for a burrito and the portion size. Especially in Barrio Logan with soooo many excellent alternatives in every direction. Flavor-wise it was delicious, but it cost over $16 for what I would call a petite or kids size burrito. It did come with a small handful of fresh tortilla chips and 2 tiny sides of red and green salsa. No salsa bar with any other condiments or salsa. The decor was really cool, they had a nice seating area in the back and a ton of tables in the sidewalk. It's located in the heart of the revitalized part of Logan Ave. Service was fast and friendly. You order and pay at the register and they bring the food out to you. They have a small bathroom hidden around the corner. Everything was very clean as well. Parking on the weekends is a little hard to find.

Came here on El Barrio Logan Di de Los Muertos Event. Really busy Day. This was a busy business but they were fast. They were cooking all the food they had good really good customer service even when they accidentally forgot someone item they got it fast! Omg I got a Torta and it was Delicious!!! I ate that fast ! The cashier was nice the server was Really friendly totally coming back!! This is what I'm looking for when I come to a Hispanic Restaurant a welcoming place !

Mexicana here and unfortunately this place is definitely for non ethnic foodies. The service is not there and the food was flavorless. I ordered red chilaquiles and it said made with guajillo sauce, which I'm pretty sure they were not and just used the powder chili mix because it had no flavor whatsoever. It is very sad to see places use false advertising with their food. Again for anyone who doesn't cook or is not a foodie, it'll be good enough. For me, won't be visiting again. As for service, we were only greeted and sat for 20 min no one came. We had no clue we had to order up at the front, unfortunately the place was totally empty as we visited around 11 for brunch and not a soul in sight. I guess they have built a reputation but that's why I wanted to try it (visiting from AZ) and it was definitely a let down.

Came back for the same breakfast that was unbeatable before to find that it had changed. You now only get one egg instead of two & the sauces had also changed since last time & not for the better. Don't get me wrong, the food was still good but not as good as our initial visit. Bummer.

Beware there's only street parking, no valet service (unless you're a hotel guest), so that can present a challenge. Reservations a MUST on weekends, especially with a group. Now for the food reviews. Everything we ordered was delicious from the squash blossom and smashed tuna tartare appetizers to the El Festin platter (made for groups) . Since the main dining area is kept dark for the dramatic gothic effect, it's tricky to rely on your sense of sight for the presentation of each of the dish. The highlight for me was the chili garlic shrimp tacos. So full of flavor! The only drawback is that many of their dishes are made with nuts. So if you have a nut allergy, which one of us in our group did, the menu was limiting. Overall, it's an incredible place for first timers and out-of- towners. I might return for a special celebration, but not repeatedly. Once is good enough experience, especially with so many other special dining options in our fine city.

It's one of San Diego's top scenic date-night restaurants. You get to take in San Diego's night views from a unique vantage point, and the scenery is breathtaking. Boasting unbeatable ocean views, the restaurant faces straight toward the downtown skyline and the Coronado Bridge. Sunset hour offers incredible photo opportunities. It features a huge outdoor terrace with fire pits and refreshing ocean breezes, making it perfect for watching sunsets, snapping photos, or romantic dates. The weather wasn't ideal the day I went, and I arrived a little late, so I missed the sunset glow, but I still had an amazing experience overall. The menu centers on modern Mexican cuisine and fresh seafood. Must-orders include table-side guacamole made fresh right at your table, ceviche and aguachile with ultra-fresh seafood, fish and shrimp tacos, as well as Mexican paella meant to share for two. Their fried cauliflower appetizer was also outstanding! The bill came out to around $55 per person, and it's totally worth the price given the stunning surroundings. I highly recommend it for anniversaries or anyone chasing one of San Diego's most gorgeous sunsets. It's also a fantastic spot to bring friends and impress them!

So I was very excited to see what this place had to offer. Celebrated my daughter's 19th birthday here this week, and to be honest, I was not impressed. The location and views from this place are unmatched. Tons of covered patio seating with a breathtaking view of the downtown skyline. As for the food, it was just ok. It was mostly mexican seafood, but there was a good mix of other items like steak and a wagu burger. Everything was served hot and fresh, but in my honest opinion, everything just lacked flavor. Everything I tasted was just bland, and I tasted a little bit of all of my family's meals. But everyone agreed. Maybe we are just spoiled with San Diego Mexican food. My biggest complaint of the night was the service. Our waiter started off well. He took our drink orders and when he returned, asked if we wanted to get appetizers started, which we did. Our appetizers came out and were finished and we still had not seen our server to order our main dinner. This continued to be the issue all night, we were constantly looking and waiting for our server. There were other servers that came around and filled our drinks and took our plates, and they were great! But we really didn't see our main server most of the night. And one of the times that we did walk by, my daughter asked for a new glass of water because she had dropped food into the glass. He took the glass and never came back. I ended up giving my daughter my water. I did notice that the servers at the other tables were awesome. They were attentive, and we constantly saw them checking on their guest. And like I said, we are fans of all of the Cohn restaurants we have dined at before, so the level of service we received is not typical. Maybe our server was new??? I will say, this is not a cheap place to eat. My family of 5 spent almost $240 and that was with no alcohol or desserts. So you would expect to receive a high level of service. Other than the ambience, our experience was just ok. I would highly recommend the restaurants next door, which are owned by the same owner, and have never disappointed us in quality and/or service (Island Prime or C-Level).

We left right away to pick up the food and sure enough it was ready waiting for our arrival. One quick drive back home to dig in and the aroma was so enticing. California Burritos is very apt for their name, my bf rates it a 10/10. As a California Burrito connoisseur, he liked the addition of sour cream in it and said the flavors were delicious. He topped it with their green salsa for a little bit of a freshness to cut through the richness and fattiness of the meat and fries in the burrito. He didn't care for the fish taco that much and rated it a 4/10 but said the restaurant overall was a 10/10, as he thought there was too much lettuce and tomato throwing off the ratio of the taco. That said, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this burrito. It's large, filling, but their sauce had an almost artificial red color to it. It's a small tack shop style place, made more for to-go orders. Service was fast and friendly. Their horchata is where they really lose a star, it's from a fountain and tastes like it, watered down artificial flavor.
