    Soft serve pineapple margarita

Three words, soft-serve margaritas. That was absolutely phenomenal. The food and service are standard of a moderately priced Mexican restaurant. I commend them for being innovative and being the 1st restaurant in Birmingham to perfect the texture and taste, and alcohol content, of the soft serve marg. You only need one!

We have always had amazing food and service here. The new soft serve margarita flavors change weekly and are always a hit. The food and prices can't be beat. Love this local spot!

Wanted to try something new from the menu this time. Burrito Maravilla option did not disappoint. Have to add it to my regular rotation of favorite dishes. Always feel welcome from the moment I walk in the door. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restaurant has just the right amount of charming decor on the inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The chips and salsa are plentiful throughout the dining experience.

I don't even remember the name of this dish. It looks like chicken fajitas.

I live near this restaurant. Like right down the street. However, I will gladly drive to the Festival shopping center to eat at Los Arcos before I go back here. I am one of the most optimistic people you will ever meet. However, [[HIGHLIGHT]]I get weird, unwelcoming vibes every single time I eat here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The first time, I thought it was my server or just something I was imagining. So I decided to give them another try a while later to see if things would be better. Nope....same vibes-unpleasant. In fact, several of the servers sat and watched/glared at my dinner companion and I throughout the entire meal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is authentic Mexican and it is decorated very nicely inside with artifacts and pottery from that region.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This location didn't offer some of the options that I'm used to (such as flaming cheese or veggie burritos) but that wasn't necessarily a deal breaker. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The deal breaker is the unwanted and unpleasant feeling I get when I eat here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I won't be returning. It's a shame because I can literally walk to this location from where I reside.

Food is great ! Customer service is a little iffy.. sometimes you'll get someone who is nice and welcoming and other times the service can be standoffish. Not necessarily rude but I've ordered takeout a few times and the person taking the order would seem bothered. I haven't actually dined in at this location but the restaurant is fine. It seems clean enough..

We were staying in a hotel nearby as we passed through Birmingham and decided to try this place. Upon entering, it was not clear if we should wait to be seated or seat ourselves. No signs and the employees near the Cash register weren't eager to help. After awkwardly standing there for a minute, someone offered to seat us in a disinterested manner. We got 2 burrito dinners. One had beef and the other chicken. Both meats were very tasty. There was very little cheese topping on the chicken burrito. We also got a soft taco kids meal which was plenty of food for our 4 year old. Prices were very reasonable. I gave this 3 stars because the food was ok, waitress was friendly but host staff was terrible. Overall, we were hungry and we got some food. Nothing exceptional about this experience.

Service and food are both terrible! Queso tastes like water. Don't waste your money here.

Quick meal! Queso and chips were excellent. We had enchiladas verde and steak fajitas! Service was good and food came out quickly!

The food is delicious but the service was very slow. I recommend the fajitas- only thing I would change is to cook the vegetables more.

In fact, I'm getting warm feelings right now just thinking about my time here. Their vegan option is a nopal taco (tender, marinated cactus). It's excellent, but what makes it next level is that SALSA BAR with the best salsas I've ever had. It reminds me of taquerias in California. I drowned my taco in all of the sauces. In fact, I could probably be happy eating tortillas and salsa here. Because, yes, the tortillas are that delicious. As is that guac. Again, some of the best I've ever had, gimmicky tableside guac included (never felt that was such a great thing anyway). Here, you get a generous portion of the creamiest quality guac you can imagine. I can't report on the margaritas other than to say they look gorgeous. The wine pours are also generous and the prosecco is damn good.

Also the guacamole, the cheese dip and the tacos. They do have a full bar and can do frozen drinks. I loved that you can add your own toppings to your tacos. The tacos come with just meat. You can add onions, limes, cilantro and pickled onions and pickled jalapeños as well as sauce. They had a Verde sauce as well as regular salsa, and a Salsa Borachja sauce with onion, garlic and Mexican beer. It was spicy and delicious. They have plenty of counter seating, a few tables inside and several tables outside. This is a tapas bar more than a testaurant.

When we got seated outside by the friendly staff, we were given menus and free chips and salsa. As I nibbled on the chips and salsa which were just okay I browsed the drink menu. There's a full bar here and plenty of options. Over the course of the afternoon I tried the Frida's Rita and the wonderful rabbit. Both drinks weren't in your face with the tequila mezcal, they were mixed nicely and had a well rounded flavor. I much preferred the Woderful rabbit though as it tasted less watered down and the ginger beer paired with the mezcal was almost quenching. Overall if you're looking for a relaxing spot to enjoy Mexican cocktails this is a good spot! We did feel rushed to get out of there, and maybe it was because we weren't ordering food. Overall good experience however.

We…read morewere seated quickly upon arrival and immediately served chips and salsa (the salsa was delicious, might I add)! What we ordered: -Taco Salad (added steak) -Shrimp Tacos -Rumba Bowl (added shredded chicken and substituted white rice for Mexican rice) I can only attest to how the Rumba bowl tasted, but everyone's food came out incredibly fast. The bowl was a decent portion. It wasn't a ton of food, but it was the *right* amount of food- a fair serving that I would've made for myself at home. The bowl was good and my friends liked their dishes too. My overall consensus: Frida's is your typical Mexican restaurant. If I lived in this area I may eat here more often, but it's not necessarily something I'm likely to drive too from the outskirts of Hoover. I can probably get slightly cheaper and similar Mexican food closer to home. I'm happy to have tried it!
