Quesadilla de flor de calabaza
Audry S.

Came here for my birthday with my in laws and it was way better than I expected ! It's a family of women running the restaurant. I love family restaurants and this was a great place to come for lunch. They enjoy it here and they wanted me to try their food from Puebla Mexico. They make all their bread and tortillas fresh in the restaurant. Their quesadillas are huge! It's made with black corn and they don't skimp on the cheese. I got the flor de calabaza which is zucchini blossoms. They ran out of the mushroom one I wanted to try, but this was just as good. Nothing was too salty but definitely flavorful. I also got the cemita de milanesa and they did not skimp out on the avocado inside the sandwich. My goodness. It's a hole in a wall kind of restaurant but their food is very good. They only have a few tables in there so I hope you're lucky to get one. Definitely give this a try if you're in the area! I'd come back.

So, I actually came here to have some tacos, I know shocking right!? They have a nice size menu https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/el-cemitero-poblano-los-angeles?select=c95nBxaAhfy5XtZEp_Ic7Q https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/el-cemitero-poblano-los-angeles?select=hgRhqfu7m0IVWiz66gsCmg unfortunately they were out of several meats that I wanted so I opted for a Cemita, it's there specialty anyhow! NO interior seating but they do have an outdoor seating area, you place and pay for your order inside and they'll call your name when ready. Quesadilla con Carne Asada https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/el-cemitero-poblano-los-angeles?select=GwbKGEXW1Cm9azFFlN0vnQ Look at the size of this hand made yellow corn tortilla!!! Filled with lean and tender chopped Carne Asada and plenty of Cheese https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/el-cemitero-poblano-los-angeles?select=rVi6O60cUXY9W6qVgqPYWw to start off the corn tortilla is fantastic, the carne Asada was lean and cooked well, fresh slices of avocado and some nice salsa. 4-Stars Taco de Carne Asada https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/el-cemitero-poblano-los-angeles?select=qxFID79aYIZILosFKq8GPQ Similar to the above quesadilla but smaller and no cheese, https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/el-cemitero-poblano-los-angeles?select=qxFID79aYIZILosFKq8GPQ a good taco! 4-Stars Cemita de Milanesa de Res https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/el-cemitero-poblano-los-angeles?select=qxFID79aYIZILosFKq8GPQ what's inside your Cemita? https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/el-cemitero-poblano-los-angeles?select=eJ_IqOHHuEucMVte4_BZLg the Cemita roll was fresh they do tend to be on the dry side compaired to other rolls, the Milanesa de Res/Beef was nicely cooked https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/el-cemitero-poblano-los-angeles?select=OIcWehjY61JmlvMuSUEbiA but not the most flavorful, https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/el-cemitero-poblano-los-angeles?select=es_g3QrfJmLdJGoPIE4RNw all the ingredients were fresh. 4-Stars If you're in the area it's a place worth checking out, but wouldn't go out of my way.

Good authentic Mexican food. Food is fresh. Enjoy in ELA. You can park in the street if you can't find parking.

He visitado Los Angeles anteriormente pero no me había encontrado con un restaurancito así, es un lugar muy acogedor, buen servicio y comida deliciosa, y las galletitas ni se diga, me traje 2 cajas y me arrepiento no haber traído más!!

Very simple East LA restaurant. Food was good and made to order. The bread used for the cemitas was perfect! Not too hard or too soft. Was surprised by the vast variety in their menu... with lots to choose from. Cash only. ATM on site.

I tried calling this place 3 times to place an order but no answers. I don't get why they say they're open but no answer.

The staff are lovely humans who really seem to care about their customers. We have some faves on the menu. The bean dip is fabulous and I'm addicted to the baby gem salad. They have recently amped up the filling in the delicious crispy squash blossoms and I love the acidity and heat. The fish is also a hit in my books. One dish that doesn't work for me is the lamb chops, which is a shame since it's my favorite protein. I've ordered them multiple times with clear instructions on temperature and have found them overcooked and tough. The beef tostada was just ok. Whilst I loved the pickled veg on the side, the beef was underseasoned. It wasn't bad - just not up to the standard of other dishes. The vibe in the place is welcoming and the restaurant is nicely appointed. We will continue to be regulars and it's really worth trying if you haven't been yet.

Located between Koreatown and Pico-Union, this restaurant delivers an outstanding dining experience from the moment you're seated. My wife and I both ordered the Mole Coloradito with chicken, and it was absolutely delicious. One detail we really appreciated was being able to choose between white meat or dark meat--a thoughtful touch that lets you customize your meal to your preference. The mole was rich, complex, and full of flavor, exactly what you would hope for from a restaurant known for its Oaxacan specialties. As a welcome appetizer, they bring fresh chips and salsa to the table, but what really impressed us was when they replaced the salsa with their incredible mole sauce. It was so good we found ourselves dipping everything into it. Both meals were served with rice that was perfectly cooked with a great consistency and flavor. For those feeling adventurous, give the Chapulines (grasshoppers) a try. They may sound intimidating, but they were surprisingly enjoyable and added to the authentic experience. The staff was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and patient with those of us who are not fluent in Spanish. Their hospitality made us feel comfortable and welcomed throughout our visit. Great food, authentic flavors, and wonderful service make Guelaguetza a restaurant we'll definitely be returning to. Highly recommended!

As soon as you walk up the stairwell you'll be transported into this super cute place with an outdoor-indoor feel, almost like an elegant treehouse. We were seated on the second level which provided a Birds Eye view of the restaurant. We ordered a few items to share: Cameron ceviche, flautas and for our sweet tooth, French toast paired with a mango sorbet surprise with a candle for our birthdays (tip: we drizzled the melted sorbet on our French toast and took small scoops with each bite - game changer!). Everything was so delicious! We also ordered mocktails, a miche-nada for him and a lemony drink for me. This experience wouldn't have been as great without the exceptional service we had. Our waters were always refilled without asking, our tables were cleaned with every dish, honestly top-notch service! Parking can be a bit challenging but drive around a few blocks and you'll find a few spaces. Worth the walk after an incredible meal. Happy eating!

While it is definitely on the pricier side, the flavors are extremely unique and delicious, making it worth the splurge for a special night out. My only real bummer was discovering they took the vegan ceviche off the menu--that was actually the whole reason I came back! I'm sure they have their reasons, but I was pretty disheartened to see it go. Overall, the menu doesn't have a ton of vegan items, but they do have some room for adjustments if you ask. Despite the menu change, the incredible atmosphere and unique menu still make it a must-try.

The building is an original piece of the City's history, boasting a menu that features their famous burritos that vary in size from a regular to a huge party size beast that can feed several. I tried the Hollenbeck and the Okie burritos on two separate occasions via pick up, as aforementioned, the service was quick, convenient and the pick up window is seamless, parking is located next to the structure and I haven't had problems getting there. Hollenbeck was good but I definitely enjoyed the Okie burrito more, I ordered the "original" size once and didn't seem to learn my lesson the second time, these burritos can feed two in Original size. They offer a "Mini" version which would be satisfactory for one person. My favorite thing about these burritos is how "home-made" they are, the salsas and meats are fresh and taste like they came out of an abuelitas kitchen. I still need to try the crunchy tacos and nachos which look great, I recommend trying this classic establishment at least once if you're in the area.
