Used El Cerrito recently for pick up catering for a party of about 30 people and was very pleased :)

This man will serve you water in a shot glass then "cut you off" lmfao. Service and food is consistent. The customer is always wrong at this place. I was very reasonable in my approach with him While making my complaint, but still received crap treatment from him , possibly because I am female?. Several people I knew there agreed when I had them taste my beverage, so watered down it was slightly recognizable as patron. If you want to eat this is a good idea, drinks with friends I would suggest sticking to the beer in a bottle, or tap so they can't screw you over. read more

Im one of those people who give reviews only when the experience was so top notch. I try not to give bad ones as all businesses and staff have "off" days. However I'm hopeful my review will benefit management. We've been coming here for almost two years. Since the new owners took over, service has taken a nose dive. We have sat and observed for several visits now and here are our thoughts: food quality is still good 5 stars. Servers are nice if you can get the attention you deserve 4 stars. Some are even really good. BUT...there is no management happening 1 Star. Staff are confused. Lots of them, sometimes too many. Last couple times we had two at register on phones that sounded like personal calls while we stood and waited to check out and place was packed and most tables had not gotten their order in, much less gotten their food. Someone should have been directing them to the floor. No one is checking out if they aren't getting their food! Time before it was slower so four of them congregated at front area, sitting on bench and one was vaping. Not a good look. And there is always side work right? Our booths have been dirty a few times so someone should be sweeping underneath if you have time to vape. Our last visit we were there at opening and were told after we got the fajitas that the flour tortilla machine was broken. My husband would have ordered quesadillas then as he doesn't like corn. What Mexican restaurant doesnt have flour tortillas ?? Run to Brookshires, shoot even the Dollar Store! We have gotten quesadillas multiple times, asked if we want pico and ultimately receive it with no pico. Whether thats the staff or kitchen someone isn't getting the request. Last visit we got a basket of broken chips. I mean the whole basket! I had to put them into my salsa bowl and eat with a fork! Clearly the staff have not been trained on what is appropriate there. I would have asked for a new basket but you can't get a server to come back timely. One of the numerous staff should be tasked with chip and tea refills. You might get served by four diff staff rather haphazardly which indicates they aren't working sections, assignments or organized...something is throwing them off. Again most of them are scrambling to do the right thing, but there is a lack of organization. We watched last time while many tables waited easily 20+mins to have their order taken. There is always plenty of staff, maybe too many, and again most have been very nice. Throwing more people at the problem wont solve it. They are lacking experienced shift leadership. There is rarely an apparent manager, no table touches. They need direction and someone managing the flow including hiccups like the tortilla machine. Solve those issues and it should return to being a great place. read more

Just went there for a Veteran's Day lunch. Food and service were great. Margaritas were delicious. Beer was ice cold. That'll get a 5-star rating from me every time. Manager stopped by table and chatted for a bit, too. Super nice guy. We'll be back! read more

Have been coming to El Cerrito for 2 1/2 years. Food has always been good and service great. Went today and had a very long wait for our food. My husband ordered Huevos rancheros and they were totally different than they've ever been before. Just 2 fried eggs with sauce on them served with beans and rice, he ordered all beans. Complained to the waitress that this was not Huevos Rancheros and she said that they were what they were supposed to be. Never had Huevos rancheros like this before anywhere. They usually have layered corn tortillas, cheese and sauce under the eggs. Very disappointed!! This used to be our favorite place to eat Mexican in Springtown. read more

Was a good customer. Came in Sunday evening about 7pm. Had to wait for booth to be cleaned. Sat down with menus that were torn and battered. Waited awhile before waitress came over and said this was not her table but would take our drink order. We had water. She took our order, which was fajitas. Pretty simple right. Waited for chips and salsa. When they did come they were not the thin crispy, but thick hard. Salsa was to hot to eat. Have to managers before someone needs to taste it. No replacements for chips and salsa. Still no silverware on table. A manager type person came by to fill water and took our glasses. Meanwhile we were told they were out of rice. Several tables appeared to not like chips or lack of menu item. We left before water came back. Waitress did her part well but rest fell apart. This is not the first time. We wont be back. read more

Food is ok. Make sure to ask about the dish. They tend to make it different than what is in the menu and not for the better. Service isn't the best and they have a couple kids that work there that are snotty. There are better places in Springtown to spend your money. read more

Food is ok when your in a rush, but if you have time go elsewhere. Springtown is not known for great places to eat. This place I would rate in the top two of options in town. But better food can be had in other towns close by read more

ok, had super there the other night.. service was a little slow but the place was pretty busy and she was young! the have a bar, patio and café all in one...sweet the food was really good, there was 4 of us and we all enjoyed other meals. oh and the price was really good under $50.00 4 for people. I really like this place and will be back for sure. good for dinner, lunch or just hanging out and having drinks! my new favorite place to go! oh yes I WILL BE BACK read more

They have some of the best Mexican food in the area in my opinion! I loved the cheese enchiladas and they have some of the best salsa. Chips are thin but good! The only complain I would have is the staff! There waiters are not exactly the best out there and do not tend to their customers that we'll read more

Despite the fact that we've gotten lousy carry out food here several times, we thought we'd try it again. The food is still terrible. We ordered Chimichanga dinners & basically got a huge tough flour tortilla stuffed with nothing. There was one green pepper strip lots of onions and a teeny little dab of beef. There was supposed to be guacamole and there wasn't any on either dinner. This is keeping in line with all of our prior experiences. Over priced lousy food & missing items. We're never going back. Live less than 2 minutes from the restaurant and it's a crap shoot. However, tonight, after waiting 25 minutes for my to-go order, I finally asked a different wait-staff person to please check on my order. She did and brought it out to me. That's bad enough, especially since the man that ordered after me and got his food before me. The kicker was that lady that brought my order out to me said, and I quote, "It was back there waiting on you." Like I said, it's good when it's good, not so much when it ain't. Crap shoot. Lousy management. Captive audience (it's a 12 mile drive to the closest Tex-Mex restaurant). So what are you going to do??? My suggestion, try El Torritos at 730 South and Veal Station. Never been disappointed, after 5 it's one free Margarita for each 21 or over person, and you don't have to wait long at all. read more

This was one of the only decent restaurants in Springtown. We have been going to El Cerrito for a little over a year once a week for lunch. The wait staff is ok and generally friendly but they aren't the best at keeping their comments to a whisper when speaking about fellow patrons of the restaurant. The wait staff also displays utter hatred if you so much as ask a question about the menu. Also we have noticed since new management has taken over how the quality of the food has SERIOUSLY declined. If you order fajitas they will give you approximately 3 slices of meat, 2 slices of bell pepper and 2 or 3 whole onions on the skillet and exactly 2 corn tortillas. You can ask for flour but they will NEVER EVER arrive. If you order a side of jalapenos (which comes in a 1" x 1" plastic dip ramekin) they will charge you $1, even if the ramekin contains only 3 or 4 small slices. The ladies bathroom is the worst, you cannot flush any type of toilet paper down the toilet so there is a hand written note directing people to throw their toilet paper in the trash receptacle next to the commode. This in itself is DISGUSTING, considering how other people handle their business in a not so civilized way. Please skip this place altogether and visit an establishment that appreciates the business. read more

I just posted this on their Facebook page. Food does suck! We went on Valentine's Day and decided to give it one more try. We've been eating here for 4+ years and each year have noticed the food, drinks and service get worse. We went Friday evening (March 11) and waited and waited for waitress and chip and salsa boy and nothing. After 20 minutes both show up. Chips were small and broken, the salsa came in small styrofoam container and you had to beg for it. I noticed the hostess kept talking to and hugging people at various table and waitress (Brittany W) couldn't quit visiting with one table and got order wrong. Oh, and we didn't get our tea glasses refilled until we got our check. Next time we will go down the street to Ranch Nuevo. And YES I would like the establishment to contact me. read more
