Awesome food and service!! My husband had been here a couple of times before (without me) and highly recommended it. It did not disappoint!!! This is now our favorite go-to for Mexican food in the Show Low area. Really good flavored salsa and chips to start, then dinner arrived and...OMGOSH, it was a lot of food and boy was it fabulous!! This place is HANDS DOWN the best Mexican food I have ever had. I have never had a bad dish here. Their seafood dishes are my favorite and if you like seafood you have to get the civiche San roke. Went there today for the first time for Taco Tuesday and it was amazing! The tacos were incredible, the refried beans were delicious, and the chips and salsa were soooo good. We were seated right away, our server took our drink order less than a minute later, and she took our food order right when she came back with our drinks. Our food was served less than 10 minutes later. I don't know why other reviewers are saying the food is bland, everything we had today was full of flavor and just really, really good. All of the staff members were very friendly and courteous. With the Taco Tuesday special, drinks, rice and beans, it was only about $25 for 2 people, which is very reasonable given today's costs. Food and service are both excellent! Parking can be a little tricky sometimes, but other than that it's great.

The chips and salsa were yummy. I ordered the Beef Chimichanga with beans and rice. The shredded meat in the chimichanga was tasteless; rice and beans had absolutely no salt so those were tasteless as well. I ordered a side of Philly sauce and it didn't come out until I was halfway finished with my food. The Philly sauce was disappointing too! It was a watered down cream cheese, with a soupy consistency that tasted like water. I don't recommend this place and will never come back! Not authentic unless you are a person that has no idea what authentic really is. read more

We live in Show Low and eat here at least four times a month. For us, this is the BEST Mexican restaurant in Show Low and we tried them all. The staff is always very kind, and the food is so delicious. You can't beat the happy hour. At times, like any other restaurant, there will be staff shortages which will cause delays, but we are willing to wait but most times the service is really fast. read more

We went there in late March 2022 and the food was excellent, though the margaritas were on the very small side and mostly ice. After bragging about the Chili Crisp, a group of us went in May 2022 and, while they had beefed up the margaritas, the food was horrible. Granted, we went on a Monday but, if you can't do Mondays right, don't be open on Mondays! The experience was so bad that we are not inclined to give them another chance. read more

El Charro is a refreshing new taste in Mexican food authentic cuisine. Their service is excellent. Particularly like how the restaurant is using young men and women to train as hostesses, waiters, and waitresses. A kitchen staff has quality recipes that they obviously follow making every time I've walked in and walked out with a smile. This family owned place is amazing!! It's not every day you can find authentic Mexican cuisine in the mountains. Especially, with many seafood items to choose from. I had the Caldo Del Mar (Sea Food Soup) it was hands down one of the best assortment of flavors I've ever had. I wanted to just drink the broth in a cup it was that good. Then, we tried the Barria tacos and the dipping sauce was phenomenal. The staff was very helpful and friendly they all work together to service their customers. To top it off they make one of the best Micheladas ever! I wanted to try so much more but the portions were generous and I left very satisfied. You can tell this newly opened restaurant has a passion for food and family because you can taste the love in every bite! read more

The food was amazing! Some of the best I have had in a long time. The seafood was absolutely outstanding. However, the service was ridiculously slow. I am one who likes to sit and enjoy food but this was just so slow. That is the only reason why I am giving it 3 starts. We were there 2 hours. 30 minutes before our waitress took our order. If we hadn't ordered drinks we would have left. Then it was another 45 minutes before we got our food. I really wanted dessert but was too scared to order it because I didn't know how long it would take. It didn't look like they were short staffed so I didn't understand what the problem was. Some of the staff acted like they didn't know what to do. Hopefully next time we go things will go quicker. read more

Took our son and his wife for lunch - we were there right at 11am - it took 40 mins for my husband to get his beer after we asked for it 3 times. Notice the servers catered very well to certain few in there which is a shame and our food was below par! Spent $130 on our bill for horrible service horrible food and we will never step in there again. read more

We decided to give this place a try and we were not disappointed!! We got the chicken flautas (can easily feed 2 adults), the chicken fajitas which were DIVINE, and the barria tacos which my husband loved. We normally go to Los Corrales but get tired of going to the same place all the time so decided to change it up. What a pleasant surprise. Hubby had Tacos Birrias - totally loved them. I had a bean tostada and a Taco al Pastor. Both were delicious. Chips and salsa were awesome. But the topping on the cake was the super wait staff. El Charro is a really nice place. The decor is great and the staff are friendly and very helpful. Now for the meal. I ordered the whole fried fish. This was my first time here and was impressed by how much Mexican style seafood was offered. The fish was so over cooked it made the fish snap like dried kindling. I have had Pescado Frito dozens of times and this was clearly the worst. I do plan on going back but I don't believe I will order the whole fried fish again read more
