I really enjoyed eating here! The staff was friendly and accommodating and the vibes are top tier! They recommended the Tres Leches and I did not regret getting it. It was a nice sized slice and was so moist! I will be returning soon.

This place is a vibe. Great layout, lots of window view, comfortable bar seating, fun decor, hip staff, FANTASTIC menu of ALL VEGAN street tacos, Mexican fare, drinks and desserts. The space isn't enormous but the windows & high ceilings help it feel more so. We loved our server and the other staff who checked in with us throughout our date. It was exciting to be in an all vegan restaurant where everything on the menu is safe for compassionate people to order. We started with loaded nachos. My husband and I both got the "taco plate" entree which is a combination of any three tacos you want, plus refried beans and rice. We had a dessert I can't remember the name of but it's a delicate spongy cake with fruit preserves and creamy drizzle. DELICIOUS!! A minor mixup w our order was speedily and happily resolved. We loved it. We'll definitely be back. YES: 100% VEGAN

We are so excited to welcome another 100% vegan restaurant to the Richmond/Churchill area! This bar/taqueria is very busy and for good reason - the decorations were so well done, there are 3 TVs by the bar to watch the games, and there's something magically charming about the open kitchen where you can see the chefs working behind the scenes. Once seated, we ordered the burrito bowl and not-a-Cali burrito - talk about flavor, this meal was on point! Portion sizes are also healthy, so you won't need to roll out the restaurant afterward. We didn't order any drinks, but should've - they looked amazing and would have paired with the food perfectly. Overall a great experience!

I want to start off by pointing out that we went in their second week of operations. The place is a little tight but we were still able to get a table for dinner. Now with that being said, we were not feeling it. Our server was nice but knew nothing about the menu. We ordered the guac to start and that was good because there were no onions you had to crunch down on and it was seasoned/flavored appropriately to our liking. I ordered the burrito and my partner ordered the "chicken" tacos. When her plate came, she noticed that her rice was not on the plate but mashed potatoes were there instead. When we finally were able to flag the server down, she said that they ran out of rice and had to make more so she took her plate to the back to fix it. We were thinking that if you ran out, why didn't you come back to the table to ask what other options would she like or simply just wait on the rice to be done and update us on what was going on? She eventually came back with her plate but no rice was there yet again. She said they were still waiting to make some. Now we're thinking, how could rice be the issue here? At a Mexican joint at that. Now, I will say that my burrito was great yet a bit small in my opinion for the price. My partner and I didn't enjoy the beans. It lacked flavor and tasted like it came straight from the can. Also, the "chicken" lacked flavor as well. I'm talking about seasoning and not that fact that it was vegan. At the end, the manager came over out of no where and apologized for the rice debacle which was pleasant. She took a percentage off of our food which we appreciated since we didn't even ask for that. As I stated at the beginning, this was their second week. Maybe those issues have been worked out. As far as the food goes, I think some things were good and some lacked flavor including the salsa which I felt needed some salt to wake it up.

Taco Vegana delivers some of the best plant-based tacos around. The flavors are bold, fresh, and creative--each taco feels thoughtfully put together. Their tortillas taste homemade, the sauces are vibrant, and the textures actually satisfy like traditional tacos. The staff is friendly, the vibe is relaxed, and even non-vegans will walk away impressed. If you're looking for delicious, feel-good food, Taco Vegana is absolutely worth the stop.

Their menu items are inspired by a variety of international cuisines with a level of respect. Knowing this, it really makes you savor your meal. I get sad that it's not permanent, but I'm also excited for what's next to enjoy for my next visit. I have not been disappointed by their food once. Also, so very RVA of them to set up a restaurant in a beautifully renovated grade school. Also very apt! It's like going to geography class run by classically trained chefs. I always forget to take photos because it is so pleasantly easy to enjoy the present at Blue Atlas and I immediately enjoy their food as soon as it's put down in front of me. If I had to describe Blue Atlas in one word it would be "intentional." Intentional food, design, atmosphere, and being in your own intentional experience because it's hard not to.

I had only planned on spending $60 or so but ended up spending $140 including a great tip for my waiter. I got the Fried Chicken Banh Mi, Dan Dan Noodles, and my guest ordered the Brisket Pho, and Singapore noodles alongside a Mojito and their coconut ice cube drink (blanking on the name). I loved every bite of my food. The Daikon Radish was the highlight of the Banh Mi and I was in love with every bite. Visibly dancing and gleaming with joy while eating + the great music being played also helped. I didn't eat my sandwich until it got cold as I like to finish a dish before trying another. I started with the Dan Dan noodles and had to drink 3 of the liters of water by myself to finish my meal . I took my guest's peppers and my peppers and crushed them up into my Dan Dan plate with all the seeds that came with them. In addition I also used all the chili oil paste it came with as well. It was so damn great I enjoyed every second. My guest loved their pho and didn't stop eating it and ate half of their Singapore noodles before getting full and having to take it home. They absolutely loved their drinks and it was so fun to watch the bartender make the drinks. Two shakers in hand mixing the drinks and oh boy were they strong . We will definitely be back!!! Oh and they also had chopsticks for us to use and we ate our entire meal with them. I knew I was in for a whirlwind of flavor when the ethnicities of the cooks matched the restaurant and patrons of color from Pakistani, Black, Indian, Korean, Thai, and more were dining in . Only downsides for me personally were the Singapore noodles but it wasn't my dish. I tasted them and didn't think they were for me I usually prefer a different ratio of seasoning for my Singapore noodles. My guest whose favorite dish is Singapore noodles quite adored them. Though they did say the Singapore noodles I make at home are better they still crushed it and the next morning woke up and crushed the rest with a smile on the face . Only thing I didn't like was the pho but that's my personal taste getting in the way. I don't like fish based broths but my guest ate every single last dropped and loved it! So if that's your alley go for it!!! 10/10 will try again!!! P.S. please tip the staff graciously they work so hard. If you're going to order a $100 worth of food don't be the person not tipping or tipping $10 when the service was excellent. Yes tipping cultures shouldn't exist but until they're paid a fair wage please continue to do so. I really hope this restaurant doesn't sell out like other restaurants (En Su Boca )

So much so that I was unable to eat more than a few bites. My lunch companion had ordered the same dish (with added shrimp). Bartender also helped me select a glass of wine to go with my dinner. Everything was phenomenal. I highly suggest the octopus. I also suggest a sandwich. Their gluten-free bun was amazing. The broccolini that I had was good. I just personally prefer mine to be more well done than it was and the lemon aïoli that goes with the fries..... good night. Kids chicken strips were a chicken patty that was overcooked and cut up. Also came out lukewarm at best. The Rueben was soggy and had about three slices of meat on it. Very little sauce on the sandwich no and was charged for extra when I asked for more. Added the Parmesan truffle fries which were powered Parmesan with some truffle oil sprinkled on top. Again all lukewarm. The Timberwolf burger had maybe two jalapeño's on it and the onions were burnt. The regular burgers and kids are the same size. Housemade pickles were soggy and the cucumber skins were tough. The quality of food from when we had eaten here a couple years ago was subpar in comparison. If you are going to charge for upscale items then they need to be upscale in the quality of what you are serving. Will not be back.
