Stopped for lunch along the way between DC and Williamsburg. I was in the mood for some ceviche and it did not disappoint! So deliciously fresh (octopus, fish, Peruvian corn). I'll tell you my favorite way to have it - order some fresh guacamole (also well seasoned) and they give you unlimited chips. Take a chip, add guac then add some fish & red onions - pop it in your mouth!! YUMM! The rest of our table got the steak and chicken fajitas, grilled tilapia, and a cheeseburger - everyone enjoyed their meal but GET THE CEVICHE! Our waiter was friendly, parking was easy and right outside. Looks like there are plenty of games/pool tables/tv's for when it's time for games or drinks at night. Lots of music vibin (medium to loud noise). It is part sports bar so expect the noise to be louder during peak times and game time. We came around 3pm so it wasn't busy at all. My wife and I sat in a booth where my seat was about six to eight inches too far from the table, which caused me to have to sit on the edge of the seat to reach the table comfortably. A minor infraction, but also quite annoying--and the seat couldn't be adjusted. Because of these inconveniences, I'm giving this experience four stars. We decided to eat at Perfect Pollo Peruvian & Tex-Mex when we were going to Shenandoah. For most people at our party, it was our first time eating Peruvian Chicken, so we didn't know what to expect. Ambiance: The restaurant reminds me of a Filipino eatery with a food bar for food selection. Since we were dining in, we didn't order from the food bar. We ordered from the menu instead. A billiards table and game night machines are on the right side of the entrance. There are posters for some live viewing of certain sports events. Price: We were surprised at how inexpensive their food was, and their servings are also huge. Food: I ordered half-size dak meat Peruvian Chicken with yellow rice and fried plantains. The half-size dark meat is 2-leg quarters. They were flavorful. The highlight of our meal was the sauces. I don't know what they were called, but I enjoyed mixing them up and dipping my Chicken. The fried plantains were one of my favorites as well. Service: The staff was very welcoming and open to suggestions. We got a chance to talk to the owner, who explained what to expect when eating a Peruvian chicken. Perfect Pollo has multiple locations. I ordered lomo saltado and my husband ordered bbq wings and sweet chili wings to go. The only thing that had flavor in the lomo was the onions and the price was ridiculous for the portion size - almost $23...served in a Chipotle bowl! The wings were tough and tasted old. Me and the crew moved a crane across the street from this location. Went to grab dinner, and straight out the gate, service was proper. I personally ordered the half roasted chicken dinner, and I can not emphasize enough, I accidentally threw my head back and blurted aloud "BRO" as the chicken is that fucking great. So good it had me offering the homies a bite. Yucca fries and plantains were solid too, but man, that roasted chicken had me running trying to get people to take a bite. Stopped in Ashland on a 2 day road trip because the rain was so hard that there was zero visibility. We landed at Don Lucho. The place looked closed. Very dark and half of the tables had the chairs on them upside down. My girl got cheese quesadillas and they were fine. I got steak tacos. They were decent enough. But for a place that was crazy dead the service was embarrassing. Not once did anyone come to check on us / refill drinks / anything so they had no idea we had finished and were waiting to pay. Driving back home to NoVa after a weekend in Richmond and stopped here for lunch. The food was average. We ordered the wings, lomo saltado, and a steak quesadilla. The wings were the star, perfectly cooked and not overly seasoned (we did ask for the sauce on the side). The lomo saltado was too salty and the accompanying fries were undercooked and limp. My son enjoyed his steak quesadilla. The service, however, was excellent: very attentive and super friendly. Unfortunately, the restaurant is right next to a cigar store and the smell is pretty strong, it is noticeable as soon as you walk in the door. We might return for the wings and service but we'll sit on the other side farther away from the wall that they share with the cigar place. read more

My husband and I had the best taco salads ever......we were on I95, and got off on Exit 92A in the Winding Brook complex. The server Wilmer and Lewis were so welcoming with great personalities and nice. They make their taco shells in house ....and they were fabulous. Our family was in town for the youth state wrestling tournament in Doswell. We didn't get out of the tournament until after 9pm on a Saturday night. This area is a food desert unless you want fast food. Looking for a place to eat on Yelp, we noticed a lot of places around here close either at 9 or 10pm. We found a couple places that had extended hours, but when we went there, they had their chairs up and were closing due to being slow. We pulled up to this restaurant as almost a last resort, and they had some chairs up, but there were a couple patrons at the bar, so we asked if they were still open. They said yes even though they were kind of closing up. They were only able to provide a limited menu, but at this point, we were happy for whatever. Still able to order a burger, kids chicken tenders, and wings and some adult beverages. The wings were great. Our waitress was great and she didn't try to rush us out or anything. While traveling south on 95, through the Ashland area, we stopped in here for some Peruvian chicken. I came here about 9 months ago and it was a different name then, called Chicken Fire and it as amazing. Seems the ownership changed, but this is still a good place! The owner greeted us when we came in and talked us into trying their Lomo Saltado. The owner said their chef was known for making the best Lomo Saltado in Peru! Well, this was probably the tastiest Lomo Saltado I've had! It was seasoned perfectly! The rice was (white rice) was decent, nothing much there. The yuca (As I never get it with fries, only yuca) was just ok. Price was very high for this particular dish, but the other items on the menu were decently-priced. Plating/presentation of this dish was beautiful though. Overall, it was a nice visit and I'd definitely return! He's got another location in the Fredericksburg, VA area... About two years ago as I was driving from Philly to Charlotte I stopped here to grab some food. I fell in love with the sweet chili wings and since then, I've been stopping here either heading to Philly or back to Charlotte. It's about midway between both cities and has become my favorite pit stop. On one occasion, I left my credit card and wasn't coming back through for a week! The manager locked it up for me and when I came back for it, he gave me a free meal! Some of the staff know me and I tell all my family and friends to stop here if in the area. I don't know that the chicken is perfect, but it's quite good. Very moist and flavorful. Has a nice marinade that penetrates the meat. The chicken is highly recommended. It falls apart with the sides though. Mac and cheese has no discernible cheese. I mean none. It's buttered noodles. I like buttered noodles so not a total loss, but that's not what's on the menu. Mashed potatoes are not really mashed--some mashing but more chunks of red skin potatoes than any mashed potato smoothness. Perhaps the cook started to mash, got called away, and forgot to finish the job. Not really sure. It seems they were blended with sour cream which is very unwelcome. Don't adulterate the product away from the norm unless you specify it on the menu. Pet peeve alert. No soda fountain here. You'll get canned soda. That means no refills. Boo!!!! Service is perfunctory. It's the indoor equivalent of what you get when you order off an app at a fast food place and they bring the burger to the car. No real check ins from the server. If you eat in you're provided with excellent tortillas and an unusual but tasty dipping sauce So go for the excellent chicken. The rest is pretty questionable. read more

We would get take away if anything. Chicken was good, wings were good but food was luke warm. Side dishes are normal veggies. Guacamole made table side was good and of course fresh. Main issue- service. Abysmal. Guy took our drink order one drink at a time, meaning going back and forth to the bar. No water. Whole night was So slow. Paper plates, plastic forks. There were plenty of workers so it's not lack of, it's training. Probably took 20 minutes just to get receipts back, no offer of water, another drink, dessert, etc. it's like a bar inside, large TVs - all with volume on- and music playing. We have been here numerous times since they opened in 2021. Food was fantastic at first but has gone down hill in the past few months. The last 2 times we came, rotisserie chicken was very dry and obviously cooked previously. Also plantains were reheated. Chips weren't fresh either. All of the food used to be fresh, so they know how to cook it right, but disappointing they are now cutting lots of corners. read more

Very good food, tasty, at perfect temperature hot!! No spicy!! I ordered 1/4 white rotisserie chicken black beans, white rice and sweet plantains, good portion. Very clean, very roomy to keep safe distance and they use covered plastic silverware. $12.00, not bad for the price. I will definitive come back! read more
