I've passed by this place over and over for the last four years since I moved to Ontario. I wish I would've checked it out sooner. I came here cause I saw they had posole on yelp so I figured what the hell new place let's do this so I did end up having posole and let me tell you. It was absolutely delicious. Probably one of the best poles I've had since I moved to Ontario, they serve it in somewhat of a small dish, but it's full of flavor lots of meat really great tasting. It comes with the fixings of course and two freshly made tostadas. I had this with an agua fresca (Jamaica). While I was eating here, the food smelled absolutely delicious and there was constantly people coming in to eat. Let's start this review with one word......Goat! Yes goat. Any Mexican worth his salt knows that real birria is made from goat meat. I realize to some of my Caucasian friends the thought of eating a goat might not be appealing considering your brother in Arkansas has pet goats on his farm but they are as delicious as they are cute. I've never been a fan of goat .....until this place. We had lunch at this place that my wife found. She thought they'd have some options until our server said they ONLY serve goat. I had the tacos Dorado and man..it was packed with meat that didn't taste at all like goat. The shredded meat was tender and flavorful more like beef than goat. The consome that came with it was like a light beef broth that was equally full of flavor. I was taking spoonful of the consome and drenching my tacos. Along with the spicy salsa the thought still makes my mouth water. You could also just drink the consome by itself. My wife and mother in law shared the surtida which was goat leg meat in the consome like a soup. They made their own tacos using freshly made corn tortillas. We also ordered birria chilaquiles with goat meat. We'll definitely be coming back to this place to try the other dishes. You get birria de chivo, heaps of it in a bowl, a mound of it on a taco, and/or a portion of it within a mulita. Entering El Chivito, you find yourself face-to-face with a woman masterfully stamping out fresh tortillas. Another woman instructs you to seat yourself where you wish. Go find a comfortable spot on one of the unlacquered pine benches. Order some goat. The tortillas are rich with earthy corn flavor. The birria itself is a full court press of goat funkiness. The consome is particularly special due to its wholesomeness. Eschewing the traffic light red variety of consome, imbued with a slick of fat, that took over all the socials in recent years, the broth here is clean, allowing more of the goat to shine. It is a palliative for all your ailments. The usual suspects can all be found in the condiment caddy. The cebolla and cilantro. The limes. If you like birria de chivo this is the place to come. I usually drive to East LA for my fix. We came across this spot on Yelp much closer and it didn't disappoint.
