To a person we were thrilled with our meals. Big portions and big flavors. The chicken fried chicken was plate size with a side of green chile battered and deep fried, like a chile relleno sans cheese. Delicious! Our server kept up with the calamity that was our table and I couldn't believe she did it with such grace. Great job. I added a salad bar trip to the CfriedC and it included dessert. Many options on the salad bar and everything was fresh and stocked full. Everyone enjoyed their meal and a couple left with to go boxes. One thing that I would change was the volume of the live music. Good song choices and singing but it was so loud we could not comfortably talk to each other during the meal. We'd all go back and may this trip. Enjoy!

But lo and behold, k-bobs has a salad wagon. It is every bit what you want and a few extras, roasted green chilies and a great green chile corn chowder. I opted for the rellenos with steak strips, they were not traditional rellenos but still great the meat was satisfying and the chile spicey. They were on rice pilaf, it worked and thier beans are flavorful and satisfying. They have home made rolls i think are better than rodehouse!! All in all it was a win, great iced tea friendly service and a satisfying meal. I will gladly come back!!

I had the bean burrito with potatoes, cheese, and chorizo, with green tomato sauce on the side -- it was amazing and full of flavor. My mom had the chile relleno, and my dad had the menudo, and both were excellent. Everything tasted homemade and fresh. We always make it a point to stop here when we're in town, and it never disappoints. Highly recommend for a delicious, flavorful breakfast in Ruidoso!

The staff was incredibly friendly, and even though it was busy on our first visit, we were seated quickly. My husband loved the shrimp cocktail, and I ordered the New Mexico Omelette both times because it was that good! The portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable, especially compared to Texas. The only thing I wish they had was a spicy green chile salsa since New Mexico is famous for its green chile. The red salsa was good but not spicy. My oldest also thought the chorizo burrito was a little too greasy, but everything else was delicious. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Ruidoso!

Building is a pretty light brown stucco in the Santa Fe style. The inside had two seating areas and room for all.

I wanted to rave about this restaurant, as we had our hearts set on steak and seafood. I had the…read moresteak sandwich which was quite a good size portion with nice dipping sauce. Lots of french fries come with the platter. My husband had the catfish and fries. The catfish was a bit over cooked. The food was good, but not delicious. Without the dipping sauce the sandwich was quite dry. The service was fine, our waiter was a bit slow on checking up on things, however. All in all, would probably not return.

It's a beautiful place with a nice dining room and bar area. The menu has just enough to choose from that anyone should be able to pick something they would like. Nothing is too fussy and the prices are decent for a steakhouse in a small mountain town that depends a lot on tourism. I have been there for lunch, for dinner, by myself and with friends - probably over a dozen times over several years. Not once have I walked away feeling like I had a great experience. The service is usually decent but the servers always seem way more interested in chatting with each other or hanging out with other employees. On more than one occasion I've heard them complain about other customers or getting another table as more customers come in the door. The food is generally okay but nothing special. It's not a complicated menu but you can order the same thing more than once and who knows how it will show up to the table. Over or under cooked, way over seasoned or missing ingredients listed on the menu - this has happened to me several times. Walking into the restaurant you are rarely greeted by someone right away. It takes a while for anyone to notice you and then if someone does it's usually a busy server or someone who doesn't look like they work there. Today I was greeted by someone who was dressed like they were cleaning out their garage. Several times I've been seated at the only clean table in the room. By the time I've left, the tables have all been dirty and no one has touched them during my entire meal. A table was only cleaned if it was needed for someone else coming in. It's a really bad impression. Something needs to be done to isolate the kitchen from the front of the house. You can hear the kitchen staff yelling, cursing and playing loud heavy metal music throughout the dining room and bar. During meals I have learned a lot about the personal lives of the staff and not because I wanted to. All of these things are fixable. I keep going back because I'll hear that there is a new manager or a new chef but it seems like nothing ever really changes and it's a shame.

They were out of the wine my friend requested and did not have cranberry juice for a cran/soda for me. Not off to a good start. The bread was mediocre at best. And the server didn't offer to do olive oil/red wine mix for us. I was craving something fresh so I ordered a Caprese salad to start. There was nothing great about it. The mozzarella was thick and dense. I also ordered a garden salad and lasagna. The garden salad smelled and tasted like dirt - like it had not been washed - that got pushed to the side and uneaten. The lasagna - ugggggg - how do you screw up lasagna???? There were gobs of ricotta cheese on top of the dish - literally piles of cheese- and not in a good way. I scraped most of it off and set it aside. The dish itself was bland and greasy. Honestly, Stouffers makes better lasagna - truth. We were offered dessert but passed. Ben and Jerry's was a safer bet. Overall I'd rate this meal a 2 out of 10 - they had Diet Coke so that was a win.
