The food is great. I think the service is fast. I find the atmosphere is very great in my opinion.

Drove an hour to Ruidoso to have some sushi which is located right next to all of the shops and restaurants in the cute touristy town. The cute little restaurant is located in a small little plaza and was quiet and quaint. I ordered my sushi roll and also noticed that they had ramen on the menu so I had to try it. My sushi roll was excellent. The ramen was good too but needed just a little bit more flavor for me. The presentation was great. And the service was phenomenal. The waitress was so friendly and attentive. I would definitely drive an hour to go back. They offer a chili oil that had great flavor as well. Stop by if you're in the area. read more

This place is a gem! My family and I are repeat customers, and we are never disappointed in the quality of food and thoughtfulness with ingredients. Sometimes the service is slower, but today we received everything right on time, and we had a wonderful server. First round: a soft and delicate miso soup, green salad with house dressing, and veggie gyozas with a special sauce. Then, we feasted on a variety of vegan sushi rolls - my kids always request cucumber rolls that are not on the menu, but the owner/chef is gracious enough to accommodate, as well as the fried tofu and tempura asparagus rolls. Wrote a review just the other day trying to find out if Ruidoso Sushi was still open....it is. Hot lunch for my wife today. We have eaten there several times, always enjoyed the food and great service. My complaint, not really a complaint, was a lack of information about days of operation, when open etc. Even a message on his phone would be helpful. BUT I also realize that getting workers can also be difficult, and it appears at time it is only the owner and sometimes a waitress handling everything, and they do a great job. Updating my review after recently swinging in on a Saturday afternoon w a craving for sushi. There were only 2 people working and I know they were the two chefs, but we were greeted warmly and sat down without needing a reservation. Understandably slow being that the Village is still recovering, and it was nice to be a local and supporting a local business. We enjoyed some iced green tea and a couple nigiri pieces and a roll. It was all very delicious!!! We had yellowtail nigiri and unagi (eel) nigiri - both were fresh and melt in your mouth perfection. Can't wait to go back for more! We also had the Texas roll and it was great! The beef was tender and cooked nicely and all the ingredients complimented each other and the sauce was delicious. For sure recommend if you're looking for a roll and you want something more substantial than a California roll. This was my husband's first time here and he commented on how nice the restaurant is inside and it has a welcoming atmosphere. We look forward to visiting again and trying more rolls and having more yellowtail ;) read more

This was my second time at Ruidoso Sushi and I again had a very good experience. The Japanese Curry w/ salmon nuggets was delicious. The young lady serving me was efficient and friendly. Others have commented on the icky floors & I've noticed that they are sticky. If you're from out of town, visiting, and a fan of Asian food, then I wouldn't come here. The orange chicken tastes like it's from a frozen packet from the store. The ramen tastes like it's from a ramen packet. Food was good everything was so fresh I loved it wish I could've tried the octopus salad but I assume it was to maintain the freshness. Wowza. This just wasn't good. Where to start? 1) the seaweed salad was from Sam's . 2) the Pork Goyoza were from Costco and were microwaved. 3) the cucumber salad was just some cucumbers with a salad dressing that was probably from Albertson's 4) the beef in the Yakisoba was shaved deli roast beef. The only fresh items in the dish were possibly the onions and peppers but the rest was from the freezer. It lacked seasoning. 5) The eel was decent and therefore brought up them up from 1 to 2 stars. You can sit either inside or outside. I chose inside this time. The menu has many different choices, if you don't like sushi or if your vegan there's options for you as well! The service is good too. Parking is a little different. You have to park on the road or in the free parking areas and walk to this location but it's usually so pretty in Ruidoso, night as well enjoy a little walk. Social distancing is encouraged indoors as the tables are spaced out appropriately and the staff are wearing masks at this time. Food was really good! Legit place to get sushi! read more

Came in earlier around 1:30 and the hostess informed us that to be seated before 5:30 we'd have to have reservations... cool. We reserved 7:00 pm that night. Once we arrived we ordered: Edemame (spicy) - delicious Miso soup - awful, tasted sour, and not fresh. Tuna tataki - pretty good, loved the sesame mustard sauce. Gyoza dumplings - flavorful, and a good dipping sauce! We ordered the Texas roll, and it was fishy (even though there wasn't much to it) sent it back. And had it taken off. Arizona roll - delicious. Rice bowls were tasty, orange chicken, spicy orange chicken, which wasn't spicy but oh well. The chef was running out of everything so we weren't able to order ramen, any sashimi, no soft shell crab or Nigiri. Bummer. Would I recommend this place to others? Probably not, but it wasn't terrible. Oh, and the soft spoken bleach blonde waitress was really nice and sweet. read more

I was in town for a family reunion and was looking for a quick meal after playing the Links Golf Course. I always like trying new sushi places when I travel for work and came across this one. Parking in the Sudderth shopping area isn't the easiest thing but if you like good sushi, this hidden gem does not disappoint. The waitress was extremely courteous and quick with my drink order. I ordered a variety of nigiri and the Almagordo roll because it was similar to one that that I order at one of my usual spots in Texas with a slight difference being cooked salmon and escolar in the place of fried soft shell crab...holy smokes, it was delicious! Walking down the Sudderth I was given a sample of the orange chicken, instantly I was convinced. It was hot, had a home made orange chicken flavor, and exactly what I needed after a long day. I loved how open it felt, it was put together in a way that was simple and inviting. We got seated right away and throughout our meal the service was great. To start I ordered the miso soup, it was hot and the flavor was great. This was followed by my order of orange chicken. I can't explain how yummy it was. The orange chicken sauce had zests of orange in which gave it an extra citrusy tang. The chicken was roughly chopped and breaded and fried to perfection. I think the texture and overall cooking of it made it taste home made. The rice was also really good and it was a generous portion for $10. Up until a few days ago the last time i ate here was about 3 years ago; I remember that it wasn't that bad and really enjoyed the sushi I got; this time around I had their classic ramen and the broth was bland. It felt like it was missing a lot of things like green onion and corn (just a suggestion). I also think the portion of noodles was a bit much. I also took the chirashi bowl to go and ate it later that night. With that I wish they had listed out individually what was in it because i was not expecting seaweed salad and avocado to be in it. The fish was nice and soft, tasty. My boyfriend got the yakisoba and i tried some of it too. It had a funny taste to it and the chicken was dry. Amazing sushi, best in New Mexico so far. They even have green chili and cream cheese stuffed in some, but still have hand rolls, sashimi--anything you would want.
