Terrible service, the food was tasteless, the rice was hard, the salad had no dressing, and the waitress was very bad.

Did not have the rotisserie chicken. Kind of expensive for amount of food and ambience.

The food is consistently good, the cocktails are well made, but the real highlight is the location. The Hudson River views are absolutely beautiful, especially at sunset. In the summer, sitting outside is hard to beat. They often have live music, a fun tiki bar atmosphere, lawn games, and it's even pet-friendly, making it a great place to spend an afternoon or evening with friends and family. During the winter, they set up heated inflatable dining domes, which create a cozy and unique experience while still letting you enjoy the waterfront views. The atmosphere is casual, lively, and welcoming. Every now and then you'll even spot some interesting people dining there--we've run into writers and storytellers, which adds to the charm of the place. Whether you're stopping by for brunch, seafood, burgers, or just drinks by the river, The Sailhouse is worth the visit in every season. It's one of our favorite waterfront restaurants in the Hudson Valley, and we highly recommend it.

What a treat! My…read morefriend and I grabbed an early dinner for the first time at The Pier, it won't be the last time. We started our dinner with a shared plate of fried calamari. The calamari was tender and the coating was crispy. A perfect appetizer. I enjoyed, a delicious meal of Littleneck Clam Linguine, which I've been talking about ever since. My partner dined on the fresh fish of the day and thoroughly enjoyed his meal as well. Everyone we came in contact with, from the gracious woman who seated us to Beth our helpful and friendly server made us feel welcome. Can't wait to return.

I thought it was an order at the counter and then find a seat restaurant so I was disappointed when they said there were reservations and they couldn't accommodate our party of two. When I had looked on the website, there was no place to make a reservation so I was surprised by this. I wish it had been more clear. Additionally, there was a sign to inform customers that the prices on the menu would be higher due to increased costs. The staff was friendly and asked if we wanted to order takeout instead- which we did. However, one of the reasons I chose this place was because I thought it was a casual counter style restaurant, that would have lower prices. I do realize seafood is expensive, but I would've chosen a seafood restaurant that would allow us to sit down. We ordered lobster rolls Connecticut style. They were fantastic and crabcakes, which were full of crab. The food was 5 stars but the lack of info about reservations coupled with the increased prices is 3 stars so I am settling on 4 stars. This restaurant is good as long as you know to make reservations and expect higher prices.

We had our dogs so we were seated outside. The service was good, but a little slow. The desert took forever to come out (though we put it through with like 3 different staff) so the restaurant comped it at the end, which we appreciated. The scallop salad was just okay, and it had bacon in it, which was a bit off-putting. The pizza Margherita was fresh and I really enjoyed my harvest autumn salad with a very recent amount of grilled gulf shrimp for protein. YUM. Highly recommend the Goat (Cheese) Brûlée. It was deeeliiiciiiious! I would definitely come back and enjoy a nice lunch on the water. For the food, the prices were also decent and not as high as full on dining city prices.

The hostess asked if we had a reservation, I answered honestly that I didn't know because my cousin had invited us and they weren't there yet. She said "party of 7"? I said yes and we were escorted inside. As we were being seated, I asked to confirm that the table we were led to was under my cousin's name. Hostess confirms yes. My cousin has a very distinct name. I think, ok great. Our waiter takes our drink orders, the rest of my party arrives and are seated. Turns out, my cousin did *not* make a reservation (honest miscommunication with me) as we learned when the hostess returned and told us we now had to leave. I fully own that we didn't have a reservation and they were booked up, but the way this was handled was strange. No apology, no grace, just "you have to leave." I got up, found the hostess in the front, honestly apologized again for the confusion and asked if we could be moved anywhere. I was told they were fully booked and didn't have a table until 2 hours later. Ok, I get it, but we shouldn't have been seated at all then. This was one of the weirdest experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. I emailed the manager privately about this the day after it happened, but didn't get a reply. Will not return and will not recommend this place to others. No idea what to rate the food (menu looked nice but expensive) since we didn't get to order food. Hope they figure this out and that the restaurant does better in the future.
