The only reason why I'm giving this a two star is because the lady inside was very nice. It was a little dingy. The food doesn't taste like Puerto Rican food I'm married to a Puerto Rican. This tastes nothing like Puerto Rican food. They didn't have a liquor license. It's a bar we don't live here just letting everybody know. read more

The food was so tasty, it almost convinced me I was in Puerto Rico. Too bad there weren't any Puerto Ricans around to complete the illusion. Instead of the usual salsa music, they had some Bad Bunny playing which was fine . I could almost hear the laughter and chatter that would have filled the air. The colorful decorations gave off island vibes, but without the local warmth. Still, the flavors managed to whisk me away to a sunny beach, even if just for a moment. I ordered the nachos and the sliders. The flavors were absolutely amazing. Food was fresh! Servers were very friendly. It wasn't too busy when we were there so we got our food fast. Seems like maybe only one cook bc all our food came at different times but I really have zero complaints and plan on going back! read more

My husband and I went and Jamie waited on us and she was spectacular. We got the wings as an appetizer and they were deliciously fried to perfection. The I got the Peril (pork and white rice with tostones) and that also was delicious. My husband got the Quarter Rican Chicken and it literally fell off the bone as he went to pick it up and also said how the crispy skin melted in his mouth. Very small menu. No seafood or fish. No fountain drinks. Bottles of ice tea, no extra offered. I ordered the Cuban sandwich which mediocre at $18 with $3.00 extra for frozen French fries. My companion ordered tea with spaghetti and chunks of pork. He was not impressed, kept apologizing for the choice of venue. Meal was $51 before tip. Service was poor. Do not recommend! read more

Outstanding friendly service on a Saturday afternoon. Popped in after stopping at Tractor Supply. As others have noted, the Empanadas were outstanding, delicious filling en robbed in a light yet crunchy shell. The half Cuban sandwich (lunch special) was very tasty and more than sufficient for a mid day meal. read more

My first visit, I dined alone but I enjoyed the friendliness and personal and attentive service from Coach. I liked the place so much on my second visit brought along a friend. Coach was there and we received the great service from him but a little disappointed in the quality of the food in relation to the price My third and probably my last. I was rushed to make a decision on my drink order. I ordered a salad, the chicken was good, hardly could see any veggies , the main veggies was romaine lettuce ....lots of it!!! Coach was polite, but was stressed and busy getting ready for the band. I felt like that was more important than his customers . The female bartender only talked to a young gentleman and never and I mean never acknowledged me. Didn't even asked me how my food was after taking my plate. And only had two salad dressing to choose from! What's up with that? Will go back probably not!! read more

I expected something good with the food. Empanada was good except oil dripped from it. The entree was meat and starch. That's it. No canvass fries, no plantains, nothing. Thumbs down for food bring served on a metal lunch room tray. No plates. Lastly the food is over priced. Hopefully they can make some changes soon. Best of luck. read more

Their empanadas were amazing - the best we'd ever tasted. It was a quiet afternoon when we were there. Staff was attentive.

Unfortunately this was a miss. Our server was great and checked in on us often. We thought the food was tasty, however the portion to price ratio just didn't add up. 18.00 for small lunch portions. I know food costs are high now more then ever. Also the drinks are expensive as well. I do want to support local businesses. The tray the food was on wasn't appealing. Really pleased to see some variety here in Shallotte. We all very much enjoyed our first visit. The empanadas and chicken wings were great, we'll definitely have those again. Our friends had the quarter chicken and the pork shoulder entrees, both were quite good. Our server was outstanding, very helpful and attentive. Overall atmosphere was very warm and welcoming.
