Sadly have to say that this please is a joke. I went through drive thru and ordered the following: 1. Large shrimp cocktail- was given 4 large shrimps in a tub of ketchup ‍ and charged $15 dollars. I am sure the majority of you have eaten at multiple Mexican restaurants, therefore have either ordered or seen what I am talking about. It had little to no veggies, very watery and didn't even provide crackers (which is typical with the cocktail. To make matters worse, I explained to the employee that I believed they gave me a small order and that I believed it was incomplete (veggies missing in the cocktail and crackers to accompany the same). She went and called the manager. To whom I explained the situation; that I had ordered a large shrimp cocktail, was given what I believed was a small (since the large container was half way), and all it had was the ketchup sauce (which was watered down enough that we clearly counted the 4 shrimps and a couple of chopped onions in it. To my surprise, the manager said and I quote "Well ma'am that is what we serve here and there is only one size cocktail, so what do you want to do"? With attitude and all SMH. I am not of eating out (specially since I cook all these foods as well) but on this day I had a very hectic day and wanted to make sure my family was still fed at our normal dinner time. Well, I told the manager to please change my order to a spicy shrimp platter instead. After having me pulled to the side of the building to wait for my replacement order as well as other meals ordered (beef taco plates) and waited for over 20 minutes (which is fine if your making my food fresh), I make it home, open my plates and everything looked like leftovers that were packed to go the rice had beans in it the sauce was over the shrimps as if were scraped from a plate vs mixed in a pan, etc... Needless to say I WILL NEVER GO BACK OR RECOMMEND!!! read more

We came here with our friends for our first breakfast in Texas. I had already chosen the Migas Rancheras before we came down. I was not at all disappointed. The food and service were outstanding. I could've drank the bowl of salsa but decided to behave myself. I also could have made my way through a bucket of charro beans, but that wouldn't be the best idea if I want to spend time with my friends. The food and service were so amazing that I would actually have given them five stars, but they are going to have to earn that fifth star, because yes, they just opened their brick-and-mortar store a week ago, but there are a few things that need to really be worked on. In no particular order, here they go: no silverware and/or napkins on the table, and yet they bring you not only chips and salsa, but then your food (EVENTUALLY . . .), and still no napkins nor silverware. Second, the noise in that place is unbelievable - - they need some decor on the walls and maybe even some acoustic tiles on the ceiling or a drop ceiling, because my husband and I, sitting directly across from each other at a little table, could not hear one another talking. It was like being in a bar late on a Friday night with 1,000 other people. Third, even though the place isn't terribly large, although they do have an outdoor patio, the parking lot is dinky. And they have a drive-through, which very much crawls, as each order is cooked to order, which I find rather difficult to understand with a Mexican restaurant, except that that is how they started out - - with a little tiny drive-through that was always busy. So that part I get. Which leads me to the worst part: and I'm certain this will get worked out, but for now, it was difficult. Their chairs are EXTREMELY cheap and uncomfortable, which wouldn't be bad if you got your food quickly and got out of there inside of 45 minutes, like the average restaurant stay. However, from the time we sat down until the time we left, and we did not dally because there were people waiting, was an hour and 25 minutes. And for 50 minutes of that, we waited for our food. People kept coming to make sure we had plenty of things to drink and chips and salsa, but the wait for the food was unreasonable. Now for the good part(s): in addition to the excellent service, in terms of making sure we had plenty of chips and salsa and drinks prior to the food getting there, their food is off the scale! Amazing!! And the way they plate it is wonderful, especially for Central Texas in a small mom-and-pop restaurant, and you don't ever have to worry about your tea/drink running out. The staff is quite friendly, and there are probably more of them than they will need once they get the kinks worked out, but you definitely get taken care of. I grew up military and married military, and we have lived all over the world, and we've had Mexican food just about everywhere you can name. And this is some of the best Mexican food I've ever had in my life. I do not know where they get their bacon, but you can better believe I'm about to call to find out, because I had the Alambre (something I'd never even heard of, much less had, but another plus is that their menus have beautiful BEAUTIFUL pictures in them, and I could not resist -- kudos to the food photographer, as well!!), and my husband had the Carne Asada, and the fried bacon in my Alambre was enough to make your heart weep. So we will give them a couple of months, and then we will go back. Date night was not meant for sitting in an uncomfortable chair for an hour. Not when you're past 50 like we are! And the drive-through was constantly busy the entire time from when we got there until way past when we left. So probably go early. I thought 5:25 PM was early enough, but not on a Friday. Came in around 4:30pm yesterday and maybe 3 tables were occupied. The lady serving chips to tables didn't speak a lick of English (we asked her for breakfast menu and she didn't have a clue). Our server (Kimberly) was more interested in sitting down and eating while playing on her phone than to take care of her tables. We were there a total of about 45 minutes and she never came to check on us or see if we needed anything. The quality of food has gone down hill and isn't consistent on their dishes and flavor. Was in Cove visiting family and decided to pick up dinner from here. Service was amazing! We called in the order ahead of time and was told 25 mins for our food. The young lady we spoke to also said their drive through was really busy so when we got there if we called, they would bring the food out to us. We picked up our food and the young man who brought it out was very polite. The food was good and good portion sizes. I had the chicken fajita taquitos although I'm not sure why they are called taquitos. I live in San Antonio and they looked like street tacos to me but that's what I wanted so I'm definitely not complaining. My daughter had a kids meal quesadilla. This is by far the worst Mexican food I have ever had I ordered food for my family and got the following: Two chimichangas no beans and a steak ranchero both plates were seeping in oil and water. You would think it was a little moist but no, it looked like they deliberately poured water on top of the rice and vegetables that were swimming on the side. It was so hot you could tell it was microwaved for the longest and the meat on all the plates were undoubtedly dry. I will never return back to this place even if it was the last place on earth. We have eaten at the old drive thru place for about 9 years. Today was our first time at the brand new bigger place across the street. First of all: they are still learning (a bunch of new employees). So it might take a few weeks before everything gets as smooth as in the old place. We came in The food and the prices were just as it always was. We did not wait for a table but a minute and our food came in a very reasonable time... we will give them a bit to adjust and then revisit. PS they do have a nice little fenced in "courtyard" for outdoor seating, serve beer now and yes, the high celing makes it a bit noisy.... read more
