This unassuming taco joint is located inside a gas station across from the soccer field but we know in TX that some of the best tacos are inside of gas stations. This place is family-run and they are the sweetest and most accommodating couple. During the breaks, you may also see the kids helping out, but note the hours are limited also! The tacos are always packed with meat and very reasonably priced. We ordered an assortment of tacos with me loving the Pollo and carnitas while my husband enjoyed his al pastor and barbacoa. They have a variety of other dishes on their menu that we still have yet to try but I bet they are just as good as the tacos! read more

It's located inside a gas station and they have a menu featuring all the usual hits from Mexican fast food. The burrito was priced at $8.95 and the breakfast tacos were $4.50. California people will not eat tacos inside of a gas station. It's weird, but this was actually decent. No stomach ache or anything. The tacos are the best way to go. I thought the Al pastor taco was bomb and the birria has good flavor. I wouldn't recommend the nachos unless you're going to eat it there. They got super soggy because I got it to go. They put shredded cheese and melted cheese on it - chef kiss. The lady who worked there is nice and she gave me samples of the meat to see if I liked it. I usually do a double take when eating at a convenient / gas station. Glad we went in. We were dying for some good birrea tacos and glad that we made a stop here. The queso birrea tacos were really good. I especially loved that they crisped up the outside tortilla which gave the tacos more flavor and kept the taco together. The salsas they provided were really good esp the red chipotle sauce. The consume dipping sauce was good but was a little watery. I wish it was a little more flavorful and rich. The portion size is good. The only other drawback was that the tacos were a little pricey. I would still rate Gaupo Taco in FTW higher but this is a place worth stopping by. read more

I love tacos, especially from gas stations and trucks. I have been sleeping on this location, as I don't pass it regularly on my way into Arlington. Let me just tell you, it is absolutely worth going out of the way for. It is worth stopping at even if you are not hungry. Best tacos in Arlington? Maybe. Best chicken tacos I have found there, for sure. This used to be a subway counter inside the shell station, and the folks who have taken it over are doing awesome things. They deserve their 5 stars, two thumbs up, 10 out of 10. And I have only tried two of their tacos, the asada and the chicken. First off, the price point is fantastic, but the amount of food you get for your money is a STEAL. I ordered three tacos and there was enough meat on them for at least 5. But quantity doesn't matter if the quality isn't there. I tortured myself by picking up food to go and waiting until I got to work. The smell of it was amazing. At a stop light I had to open it up and take a peak. When I finally got to it, I was rewarded. They were tender and flavorful and HEFTY. The chicken was not dry at all. Lots of fresh onion and cilantro, and juicy limes. I got the green salsa, as that is my preference. It doesn't bring the heat but is flavorful. I may get both next time and go Christmas style. What a delight to now live near this little gem hidden inside a gas station. Honestly, we probably would not have found it nor tried it if we weren't looking for a place to grab breakfast tacos near our home and came across all of these highly rated Yelp reviews. You know this spot. The really pretty, clean Shell station on Green Oaks in North Arlington... across from that big green grassy park with multiple fields ever-filled with kids playing soccer. Between Cooper and Greenbelt. But you might not know about El Coyote Cojo, the (very) little Mexican restaurant right inside! It's just a counter and a few small tables, but there's plenty on the menu and every item is served all day. Big breakfast burritos (and you can do build-your-own), breakfast tacos, tacos and burritos, nachos, loaded fries, burgers, wings, quesadillas, salads, and aguas frescas. I typically get the beef birria tacos (beef and cheese and onion in corn tortillas, pan fried and served with a beef consume for messy, delicious dipping). Sooooo good. Like REALLY, really, memorably good. The sides of rice and beans are on point as well. You really can't beat the prices, especially when you consider the house-made, made-to-order, feel-good, comfort food that you get here. Hot, well-seasoned, fragrant, colorful food! I have driven past the Shell gas station at Fielder and Green Oaks right across from the park countless times. I was craving a spicy fulfilling breakfast on the way to work and stopped here. I'm glad I did. The one drawback to their location is that this Shell is not bright, clean looking and organized like QTs and RaceTrac. But the bacon breakfast taco and the chorizo breakfast taco were both delicious. The portions are generous and cooked to order. I selected the spicy red sauce over the mild green sauce and was very pleased, it has a nice kick to it without overwhelming the flavor of your food. I am most definitely going back. Oh wow! What a great experience! Staff was super friendly and explained all the options. Ordered 4 items to take home for a small family brunch buffet. Two breakfast burritos, an order of birrias tacos and and an order of chicken quesadillas. The photo of the burrito cut in half is actually one burrito that is huge, delicious, and worth every penny. I would definitely order the burritos, tacos and a quesadilla again. I was also born away by how quickly they were able to prepare the food. It was also fun watching as the food was prepared on the cooktop. Honestly, I was skeptical at first being that it was located in the Shell station, but read the excellent yelp reviews and gave it a try. You would never know it but this spot inside the Shell gas station has one of the best quesabirra tacos. This is our new location to grab tacos and the customer service was phenomenal. Update: I came back today and she remembered who I was. I got some more birra tacos because the family has been craving these since we had them the first time. I was with a cousin and she said it was expensive but quickly shot that down after seeing all the meat that went into each taco. The consume was flavorful and savory.
