She asked if we would like to eat in or takeout. We chose to eat in. We were told to seat ourselves and then she brought us some silverware, rolled in a paper napkin and some water. The restaurant is clean, other than the floors that could use a good mop. The majority of the restaurant are booths with a few tables and chairs centered in the middle. I ordered the lentil soup with pita, and my husband ordered the chicken Shawarma sandwich. The lentil soup came out right away with a large pita. The lentil soup was hot in temperature butt did not have much flavor. It wasn't bad it just could use a bit more spice. I also prefer my lentil soup to have a bit more texture. The lentils seem to be more of a purée. The pita was extremely disappointing. It was more like a soft hardtack. Very dry. Very thin. No flavor. My husbands sandwich was fine. The chicken had good flavor, as did the sauce. But again the complaint is the pita. Too dry and flavorless. The french fries were slightly undercooked but had good flavor. Aria was our waitress. Very sweet and kind. She made our experience here. The service is quick and efficient. The food is appropriately sized. Overall, I would give this place 10 stars for Service of all their employees. I would give six stars for the soup. I would give Six stars for the sandwich and fries. And the pita bread gets a one. I hope they can find a new recipe for the pita and the overall stars would be much higher.

While dining at El Rancho, we met a group visiting from Wales, UK in the U.S. for the World Cup turns out Josh Thomas is a professional Rugby Player in Wales they were so nice. The service was great. The sauce was very spicy (I love spice so no big deal for me). I wasn't a big fan of the flavor so I switched to the green side. The sauce had a decent amount of spice but way more flavorful IMO. The tiny rice scoop was decent, but again, all this food was barely warm. The waiter came by once to say sorry about the beans but a random hotel/restaurant guest that was muttering something incoherently prevented me from being able to get a refill of my soda. By the time the waiter checked in again I was over it and asked for my check. I guess I could say the appetiser met expectation but would have been much better had the guac been made to order. With all the hype this place got I expected more. There is a bar and a gift shop connected to it and a historic hotel where apparently come famous people stayed long ago. Since I'm not staying there and was there only for dinner I would have rather had a better meal experience and less hype. My advice is to keep looking unless you have it as a stop on your bucket/checklist.

For entrees we had the meatball linguine and the chicken Parmesan- meatballs are house- made and were so flavorful, chicken on the parm was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Entrees are served with a side salad and their ranch was to die for- so thick and creamy. For dessert we had the chocolate gelato, which was the cherry on top of the meal. Yum! The place stayed busy until we left around 8 - a big party was waiting to be sat. The staff are very hard workers - they were busting their butts all over the restaurant for the duration of our meal. I took photos of it, and they show multiple different slices--all of which had the same raw, gummy texture across the entire slice. This was not just one bad piece. Because of this, we didn't even get a chance to actually eat the pizza. That was our dinner, and we ended up leaving without being able to eat it. What made the situation worse was how it was handled. The manager insisted it was "ranch sauce" and claimed the pizza was cooked thoroughly, which is simply not accurate based on both the texture and appearance. I was also told I was the only person to complain, as if that somehow made the issue invalid. Regardless, we were served undercooked food--twice. They offered a $5 discount on a $21 pizza that we couldn't even eat, which did not feel like a fair resolution. Very disappointing experience overall--not just because of the food, but because the issue was dismissed instead of taken seriously.
