First time at this location. It was pretty good. I really liked the chimichanga. Their salsa could be better. We had great service and the portion size is good. I had a combo plate with an enchilada, chili relleno and the chimi. I didn't like the salsa verde on the enchilada, but that was my own "taste" issue, not that there was anything wrong. Passing through town of Sedalia one day looking for a place to eat and looked this one up on the yelp app. Thought I would stop and give it a try and was not disappointed. I had the fajita Epsilon which had steak, chicken, chorizo, and shrimp. Ordered the meal for one but there was enough for two and a few leftovers there was a lot of food. It came with flour tortillas, guacamole, sour cream, and pick on the side. The fajitas were full of flavor as everything complimented each other. But for the chips and salsa the salsa was a little bland for the mild but I didn't ask for any hotter salsa.Good place to try if your near. read more

The last three times I've eaten there has been next to horrid. Yes, one of these was prior to Covid, so I don't want that as an excuse. I had one meal completely unseasoned with tortillas that were stale. The last two have been completely overcooked. I ordered steak fajita quesadilla and the meat was dry and charred. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I ordered chicken this last time. It turned out even more dry and the consistency of rubber. Not only that, but the tortilla was soggy. These always come with queso over them or cheese in them. Neither time did have that which kind of defeats the whole quesadilla... I was unsure about El Espolo because of the mixed reviews. It was a good meal with courteous staff. I had a beef chimi plate.. too much food but good. My companions had an enchilada, taco and tamale, all good sized and packed with meat. Thumbs, up! read more

Took my son to eat here before he left to drive back home. Decided to try it because someone my husband works with recommended it. We are from Arkansas and this is the first mexican restaurant we have tried in west Missouri. I guess tastes for Mexican food are different for this area. The salsa tasted like pizza sauce (literally) not spicy at all. The refried beans were flavorful and had a really good taste like they were made from fresh cooked beans instead of canned, this was a plus. The cheese stuffed relliono was good, but not spicy hot like I like it. Overall the food lacked sauciness you would want when eating mexican food. Seriously, I had a chicken burrito, and an enchilada with the fixings along with chips and dip. We are in Sedalia for a motorhome rally, we ate here Sunday after church. We were very pleased with our choice. The service was fast, and friendly. The wife and I each had a "lunch fajita ". Only passing through on our way home from the lake and got on Yelp to find a Mexican food restaurant. Unfortunately, this was the one we chose. Hot salsa was only hot, flavor was terrible. Ordered the burrito, not good. Service was awesome! Very attentive. Chips and regular salsa are about the only thing they have going for themselves. This was our first time to the restaurant. I am sitting in the booth writing this review so disgusted with our experience. The wait staff was borderline rude and our waitress had more important things to do rather than wait on our table. Or food came out cool to the touch. We had to ask for the manager on three different occasions from the different people before they decided to visit our table. The chips were stale and apparently they ration how many baskets they bring. I would not recommend eating here. I am just completely upset with our experience. read more

The restaurant was very nice and very well decorated. Good size also. My expectations for this place was high, because of how the place looked. It's been a long time since I've had good Mexican food. Well I was disappointed, First the rice was microwaved, and I love Mexican rice, so that was a huge disappointment with me. This place was recommended by a resident friend of Sedalia. We were there for a livestock show at the state fairgrounds and the place was east to get to. This place has the standard fare for a Mexican restaurant with about the standard prices. . Nothing outstanding that we could tell nor was anything terrible. My son was very complimentary of the hot sauce. If I am not feeling adventuresome about eating Mexican food, I will go back for a sure thing. Service was good and the place was clean. read more

We were passing through, decided to eat here for lunch. It is in a strip mall type of building. Excellent lunch menu, very reasonably priced. Taco, enchilada, rice complimentary hot chips and salsa for $5.25 (Speedy Gonzalez) we asked for a chicken enchilada, no extra charge. We also asked for a hot salsa, it arrived within seconds. We stopped here randomly on our way to Raven Rocks to climb. This place is truly great for what it is (an inexpensive Mexican restaurant). The salsa and food was tasty, crazy fast, and inexpensive. The favor of the steak is poor. I think they try to buy the cheapest meat on the market. Then cook it poorly. The service is outstanding, very respectful and helpful, the food comes fast. A couple of times I ordered a custom meal, and they had no problem with it, brought me exactly what I wanted. Just thinking about their chips and salsa makes my mouth water, not to mention the rest of the food. My husband and I are frequent visitors, and we are treated like a family. Upon entering the place was dark (never good). I always check out the rest rooms first when trying a new restaurant. It was ok but not as clean as I like. My wife and I split the three taco special. We were also given free chips and salsa.Our server was a very nice fellow. The chips were warm and the salsa was good but we have had better. The three soft taco's taste very good and we were planning on making this our regular weekly stop when in Sedalia. We finished and got the bill, no problem. That is when things turned for the worse. My wife went up to the cashier while I was leaving a tip (I think he was the owner/manager). She told this guy how much we enjoyed our meal. He just snobed her and turned away. Unaware of what has just happen, I walked up to the cashier to pay. I instantly noticed an attitude with this guy and nothing was asked how we liked our meal or anything.
