After getting food here a few times, I started noticing a trend, if you are nonhispanic you get really bad meat pieces. All the fatty parts. If you are hispanic they give you really good chunky steak. That's kinda bad, considering the white folk is your main customer. I have found better mexican joints now, so have not returned here. And will not. Also don't need your attitude and btw I am hispanic, just because I don't really look like it, doesn't mean I am not. Also it's kinda dirty looking in there. read more

I had no time to head over at 10am to hunt down the food I ordered at 7am. I had much to do and had to order breakfast somewhere else since this place did not provide such things for my husband and I. Fast forward to today, I forgot I got charged $20 something dollars from this restaurant and so I called for a refund. A man had answered as I tried to explain my situation and if they did ever receive my order, to which this man replies very quickly and mumbles, "you never picked up the food and it had gone to waste. I will not give you a refund". Will never attempt to eat here again. First and last time I will ever order from here. read more

El Fast Burrito had very good homemade Tex Mex food. For around $10 you can get a meal that fills you up. There was a stage, sometimes they have bands. I had a burrito and a unique stuffed pepper taco. read more

BE CAREFUL with this place. I had just gotten a new credit card and used it for the first time at this place. The following day, I got notifications of Starbucks gift cards purchased using my credit card. I called my credit card company to file fraud transactions and to lock my card and get a replacement. The following day, they tried to use my card again to pay for parking and also buy more Starbucks gift cards. So glad none of them went through. And how do I know it was from this place? It was a new credit card and I used it only ONCE. I inserted the card in their machine up front to pay. I'm guessing their machine has some sort of skimming device in it. I absolutely love this place. Family owned and operated. I've been eating here since 2012ish. The food and the prices are great. They have good customer service and the food is prepared in a timely manner. I eat here whenever I'm in the Desplaines area. If it was close to my house, I think it would be over! I loved the food here. The pastor and chicken have good marinades. What I didn't care for was coming by on a Saturday at 8:30pm and they're closed. Sign says 9pm. I also found the bathrooms to be 20 years old. Time for an update. read more

Craving some fast and delicious Mexican food? Look no further (if you around Des Plaines) than El Fast Burrito! With specials every day, how can you not go there for lunch or dinner? I especially like the Taco Tuesday deal ($1/taco) and the options include chicken, pork, steak and vegetarian on a corn or flour tortilla with onion and lettuce and green or red sauce. I recommend getting any of the tacos with the green sauce that has a bit of a kick. The taco meats are sliced very thinly and cooked well with great flavoring. The Friday deal is also pretty good if you can't go on Tuesday - 3 tacos for $5. The menu is quite extensive so anything you crave will be found here. This is the best restaurant at the low price point! The location is pretty convenient too - situated in a strip mall area with tons of free parking and nearby shops (UPS and Ace Hardware). The restaurant itself is very large and even has a small performance corner in the front - it looks like a very nice place to hang around, listen to some music and eat some good and affordable Mexican food during normal times. Went in on Taco Tuesday and bum looking cashier gets mad at me for remaking an order because he can't pronounce "$1 tacos" correctly. Should've just said " do you want cheap tacos or expensive tacos" but there's prob no difference between the 2 options besides the price lol read more

This place is a recycle of El Famous Burrito, with the same decor, probably the same employees, and almost definitely the same food. It's a good place, especially since they do tacos the non-Taco Bell way. But on to the review... Food - it's generally good, though the steak here is a bit varied, usually it's quite good, but sometimes (not at the fault of El Fast) some gristle is in there, but that's to be expected in bulk meat. Expect the same or similar menu as with El Famous except they make tacos both the Tex-Mex way as well as the method close to 'real' tacos - the meat with cilantro and onions. That's yummy. Same with elotes, which doesn't seem to be offered at many restaurants. Service - it's basically a self-service place with tables and chairs, like McDonald's but they keep up the place fairly clean. Misc - plenty of parking in the lot, it's a bit noisy especially if it's got the fútbol game on. Atmosphere is decent there, though it doesn't speak much to me, but that's a me thing, not a problem with the restaurant plenty of chairs and tables and a couple of TVs. This place is no El Faro in terms of the tasty burritos, but it still holds its own well, accounting for the 45 minute trip (one-way) to El Faro, I'll take Fast. read more

For a work event, I tried to order for delivery from this place but 45 min after I had placed the order someone called me and said that it could not be completed for "personal reasons"? I am not too sure what that means, nor have I ever had this problem anywhere else. read more
