    Taco Dinner Lengua Taco
    Precious B.

My man and I decided to grab dinner here Friday night. The location was nice and had its own parking lot which made things easier, not to mention it was nice and spacious inside. We picked a table and our waitress asked if we wanted anything to drink so we ordered two large Jamaicas because I noticed they don't serve water when you first sit down so that was a negative for me. I ordered the lengua taco dinner and my man got 6 Al pastor tacos. The portion was nice and came with rice, beans and a side salad. I didn't really enjoy the lengua because it was really bland and boring. We were both full nonetheless but I think the tacos are tiny. I'd still come back on a late night.

3 tacos (birria, cecina, Al Pastor)

We usually go to the Los comales in the city, and we like it. Just so happened we're in Niles, so we decided to come here for dinner. We go the Al pastor tortas dinner, and 3 tacos (cecina, el pastor, birria) The food just didn't taste the same , the meat was really greasy, the Al pastor was really dry like you're eating crumbs, burnt ends. The only one that's good is Prbly the Cecina taco. The tortas was okay. Service wasn't bad, but the food just wasn't on par to other Los comales.

Left tacos: tripas (crispy) Right tacos: camaron and cecina

I ate at the restaurant for the first time and it's a very chill location with lots of space. This time, I ordered the tripas (crispy), cecina taco, and camaron taco. I didn't realize how small they are, so they're a bit pricey for $2.50. But it's ok to me. Taste-wise, I did like the tripas tacos. They were a bit too fried and completely crispy, but they tasted fine. The cecina taco was ok too, not great, not bad, but just average. It didn't really have much flavor, so I added the hot sauces and the complimentary salsa to give it a kick. The shrimp taco surprised me! It was pretty filled and pieces of shrimp were falling out as I bit into it. The shrimp was seasoned and was covered with shredded cabbage and an aioli sauce. I thought it was the most worth it out of all the tacos I ordered. As for the atmosphere and staff. All staff were wearing masks and were very friendly. I liked that they came around just enough times to check on me and my friend, but also gave a lot of space where we could sit and talk. The environment gave me more like a whole-in-the-wall vibe, so it was nothing fancy. The tables and seating were decently clean. I would go back with friends to eat here because it's so close. It's not the best or my favorite taco joint, but for the suburbs, it's alright.

I usually order carry out from here and eat at home with my family but this time, I went here for lunch and it is unbeatable. Such great flavors every time. The birria was amazing I think it's a new menu item because I've never had it from here before and I loved it, came out with the consomé too. I love the green salsa. Service is always kind and quick which I love. Was not super busy but we went on a week day during the lunch time so as expected. Have been coming for my whole childhood, will continue to come back.

My parents live very close by. Decided to stop here after a very brief visit after not eating here in many many years. I started of with the the chips and salsa as always when you visit a Mexican restaurant. What i enjoy about this place is the spicy picked vegetables they have at each table. These are great additions to chips and your meal. I ordered the chicken burrito. Let me tell you, they do not skimp on the chicken. They load it up! The taste was great. Not like other burritos where they add rice. This one includes chicken, beans, cheese, lettuce tomatoes, sour cream and avocados. The size was decent as I was only able to finish half of it. Dining in was not too busy. But the kitchen was working non stop with carry out orders. I mean customers were coming in to pick up what appeared to be every other minute. They were attentive to my requests even though they were prepping carry out orders. Try this place if you happen to be in Niles.

Our family used to live on the same street a a Cafe El Tapatio in the city, and we loved it,…read moreespecially for their beans. Instead of being the canned stuff you can tell they put both a lot of care and seasoning into it. We moved out to the burbs and I saw this one on Yelp...but was it related? I mean, they have two different websites, and the one for this location literally has on their website "Serving you at one location!" We weren't sure, but we were willing to give it a shot. We came early on a Saturday, and inside they had a picture of the one in Chicago, and street signs for Ashland and Roscoe, where the Chicago one is located. So it HAS to be related...right? But the menus looked a little different... We got started with the chips and salsa, and the salsa has a real kick. Note that you only get the first chips for free and more chips would cost more. My wife got a torta, and I got tacos with steak and eggs on it, while my kid got the kid's quesadilla meal. And sure enough, there were those beans. Not dry at all and super flavorful. Next time I need to do my wife's play and order double beans instead of beans and rice. My tacos were messy but cooked well, with lots of bits of steak. I was a little confused because I thought my kid's meal would come with a drink, but they charged for his lemonade. I assume it's because it was a special blended drink and not just from a soda fountain. Now that we know this is here, we'll definitely be back, especially seeing that they have a patio for warmer weather. Glad to see we have an option when we're missing our city days.

After ordering my food at the register by the friendly guy behind the counter he told me the table number that I would be sitting. The dining room was neat and tidy with a lot of plants. Even near the restrooms. Once seated they bought out chips and salsa. The chips were warm and crisp but the salsa were good but nothing spicy. My food arrived and the server asked if I wanted the spicy salsa. And I'm like Yes Please!! It does have a kick but not as much as I have hoped for. I dove into the refried beans first, they were creamy and didn't have that burnt taste. The rice was good with corn and a couple of green beans. The burrito wasn't one of those overloaded burritos, it was a great lunch size burrito that was loaded with steak and not a lot of filler such as lettuce. The burrito with the spicy salsa was flavorful and a great bite. It wasn't wet and held together really well. This place is a bargain compared to the other spots in the area. I'm looking forward to trying the other daily specials for $8.99!

If you are looking for a good ol Mexican place, this is the place for you! They do take reservations and are pretty sizable. We went on Saturday night which was a bit crazy. It was very crowded and we were concerned about the service. While the service was a little bit on the slower side and we were there for almost 90 minutes, all the food came out hot and delicious. I got the Enchiladas in Mole Sauce which was excellent. It also came with a soup or salad which was a nice surprise. I went with the black bean soup which was great! If there was any downside, my House Margarita tasted a little weird. I probably could have complained, but I kept with it. Pretty good size, but I think there was a little too much tequila in it! Either way, this place isn't inexpensive, but you do get quite a bit of food and everybody at my table enjoyed their meal. Sometimes thats enough! This is a great icon in this part of Chicago/Rosemont.

Maria's has gone downhill!…read more Very disappointed with Maria's today. I'm never going back after what happened today. First of all, there's nothing vegan on the menu. So when I usually order veggie tacos or they're called vegetariano I used to have a good time with them. This time, I ordered the vegetariano tacos and I said no cheese and I also ordered the black bean soup. The black bean soup came with a whole bunch of grated cheese on top of it. She dumped it on the table and left. She just walked away. In my mind, the waitress was telling me to uck off. I could be wrong. Instead of waiting for her to come back and sending the soup back, I scooped up all the grated cheese and threw it on the plate next to me and ate the black bean soup. When the veggie tacos came, there was no salsa. So I waited for the waitress to come back, and I said, I want some green and red salsa, and she brought me two bottles of hot sauce and left. So my sister asked the busboy in spanish, "green and red salsa" and he said, okay, I'll get it for you. He didn't, the waitress came back, and we told her I wanted green and red salsa, and she told me the green salsa was very hot. I told her to take back the veggie tacos cause they're cold already, and I can't eat them. Wth all this back-and-forth, I'm now in front of naf knaf grill, and I'm gonna get some falafel there. What a waste of time I'm never going back to marias, again, never, never never never! I think the waitress did not speak English that well too bad. So sad, i'm never going there again and I eat veggie tacos several times a week, and many other places which are better than maria's. If you're thinking about going there, forget it, there's much better places out there in this world that are vegan friendly.
