Wow! This was a great experience! This is one of the cleanest restaurants I've visited. Not just in Mexican dining. The food portions are generous and the flavor is fantastic. You can taste how fresh the ingredients are. We had the steak and shrimp fajitas (requested combo) and the mole enchiladas (also requested). The kitchen is accommodating to orders and staff is very friendly. Why did I take a pic of the shrimp? Look how well they butterflied the shrimp! So clean! Flavor and juiciness is on point! I have trouble finding finer dining with this attention to detail on the shrimp. Totally worth the value of the dish. We will definitely be back. Please support this great restaurant. read more

Food has always been good here but when you go in and order to go and the person taking your order is more interested in her conversation with another employee and gets the order totally wrong that is a problem... we ordered a chicken taco salad with no onions add avocado and have had this many times... instead got a grilled chicken salad with a lot of onions and no avocado and got charged for it too... there were no other customers in the establishment. We will not be back which is a shame because I love dining local.... read more

Wonderful little restaurant! We stopped here because it's literally 2min from the Des Plaines theater. Had a quick little dinner before the show. Yes, you order at the counter but seating is comfortable and the restaurant is very clean. While were there eating at least five people came in for carry out and everyone knew the owner by name. Nice vibe, the owner is personable and friendly. PS the food is great, fluffy rice, great beans and my chicken chimichanga was spot on. Also had a nice trio of house hot sauces. To top it off the have off-street parking! I'll be back next time we see the theater! read more

Los Azares just opened, and it was fantastic! The interior was clean and cozy, the staff were very kind and welcoming, and most importantly the food was on point. Fortuitously we went on a Wednesday, and there were $2 taco specials. We tried them all, and they were all muy excellente with the al pastor and barbacoa being my faves. Flavorful, and not dry or greasy at all. The rice, beans, and hot sauces were all tasty. Also, the horchata is housemade and delicious. Chips were good but not sure if it comes with salsa (we had to ask.) Our kiddos even commented how they loved the quesadilla. I think we might've found our new favorite Mexican restaurant. I'm looking forward to trying their breakfast sometime and know we'll be regulars. I hope they keep up the great work in quality of food and service; bravo! read more

I was in my old neighborhood and craved some Mexican so I popped in for a carryout burrito with rice and beans. Very tasty and very fast. Sometimes, places like LA are maybe a bit inconvenient to get to, but are gems. The LA is a gem. I thought I'd have to travel far to get decent Mexican food as I'd like to mix things up (Mexico Restaurant is a good place, por ejemplo). Los Comales used to be my fave until one employee there basically effed me, but then after checking out Jonathon Zaragoza's YouTube videos, it got me very much in the mood for Mexican food...and I found this place. I placed a relatively big inaugural order: carne asada steak burritos, tacos meal, and an order of cebollitas. Some differences, none of them bad, that made it a bit different from Los Comales but maintains a very similar quality: excellent steak tacos with onions and cilantro, satisfying burritos that are remarkably similar to LC, and the cebollitas were nice, but the stems were longer - no complaints here, I'd like the texture and taste! This is my new local spot! Love it! Also, did a pickup, so I didn't stay long inside, but it seems nice and clean, it's not TBK big but you can eat in comfortably. Parking is available for about maybe 10 cars, so don't bring the whole church in! The nice young lady that greeted me was friendly and got my order nicely wrapped up. No more Chipcraptle or other humongous chains! read more

This was a Grubhub order so I can't really speak for the service or ambiance. The prices are good and there are plenty of menu options though. Our chips and salsa were bland, as were the beans and rice. I do know that midwestern palettes are different from Left Coast or southern palates, so I'm not too surprised. Her asada tostada was a little bland too, but the picadillo tostada made up for it with more "oomph" to it (that's a direct quote). My barbacoa burrito was good and the sauces on the side were delicious. They have that subtle spice that sneaks up on you and five minutes after you've eaten your lips start burning. Perfect! Yes yes yes! I am a loyal customer at the other Los Azares off of Harlem and when I saw they opened up on my normal commute route, I was ecstatic! If you're looking for just classic good Mexican in the area, you've found the spot here. Their steak tacos/burritos are my favorite, but also enjoy their taco salad always. Stopped in on a random Friday since I used to have Los Azares on Harlem when I lived in the city. Sometimes with multiple restaurants you fear quality differs but this tastes just how I remember - delicious! I opted for the chicken nachos and the chicken was juicy, chips crunchy, and no shortage of cheese atop. My mom got the three steak tacos which looked yummy. After a game we checked on yelp and it looks good so we drove here. When you arrive and you look at the place it looks really ugly to be honest and then we heisted to come in because it's not that welcoming from the look. We walked in we have to place the order before you sit. We got barbacoa taco, steak burrito, suizo burrito and steak torta. The steak burrito was good and had big pieces of steak and zero fat. The suizo burrito comes with a hot sauce on top but we asked for it on the side. We tried the sauce and it was very good and warm. The steak torta was very tasty and fresh with lots of flavor. The barbacoa taco was very delicious and I would highly recommend this meat on anything they sell here. The green salsa was very good and so was the red but it had a nice kick too it. The nacho chips are made there so they were good. They have two tv's you can watch while you eat. Good thing we came in because the food was very delicious. read more

We stopped in on a Wednesday, and the special was $2 tacos, so we had tacos of various sorts. It's nice that you can have a choice of different taco shells because some places don't offer a choice. This spot has great tacos and tortas. I especially loved the pork torta which I asked for with all toppings. The torta was huge and the bread kept everything together. My husband tried the steak tacos with cilantro and onion, and said they were really good. We also got a side of guacamole and chips, which were also great as well. My only suggestion would be to forego the torta meal option with rice and beans because the portion of rice and beans were really small in my opinion. Went there for the first time tonight got the lay of the land. I ordered el pastor tacos with cilantro and onions. The meat was very flavorful and lean. Many other places in the neighborhood serve very grizzly and fatty pork but not here. You need to buy the salsa they give you free chips with green or red sauce out of squeeze bottles. We did enjoy the tomatillo sauce but we do prefer chips with actual salsa. Salsa was ok could amp up on seasoning and spice. Hubby got chicken enchiladas with mole which was very flavorful with a nice heat. Reasonably priced and the staff is so very friendly and accommodating in every way. I love the fact that it's BYOB will definitely be back with friends. Got to check it out.
