The mofongo with chicken broth and garlic was really good and flavorful however my chicken with garlic sauce and egg fried rice was lacking in flavor. The egg fried rice flavor was non existent. There service was good, the lady behind the counter was nice and brought our food to the table. Seems like even when eating in the serve you in styrofoam which is ok in my opinion. Not the worst thing but not great for the environment. It's a typical Chinese take out restaurant so nothing fancy about it. Overall it's not bad but not great either. I will say in my humble opinion it's pretty pricy for what you get. We spent nearly $50 which would have been about $30 at another place. Would I go back? I came here on the recommendation of a neighbor who swears by this place. I'd call it a counter-service Chinese restaurant with a serious Latino side. (The food was all cooked to-order: no steam tables.) All our food was served to-go despite the fact we were clearly staying to eat - I missed the lady's explanation of why. We started with the Crab Rangoon and BBQ ribs. The Rangoon were only crispy in places, and their lack of flavor was the harbinger of a trend. The ribs were OK, nothing to write home about. We shared three entrees: shrimp and onions with mofongo (the pick of the day, pretty good), cashew chicken with house fried rice (the chicken was OK, the fried rice (despite a decent amount of shrimp, pork and ham) was pretty flavorless and dry) and fried pork with fried rice (the pork was both dry and flavorless.) And, the bathroom is out of commission (and has been for some time, judging by the boxes stacked to block access to it.) read more

Where's the Zero? Someone that is in charge of the phones today lost her customer service skills, perhaps never had any. My order was delivered wrong. Missing the rice and I got referred to call door dash instead of fixing. A $3 rice or a fake smile would have helped the fact that the order was incorrect and the driver was willing to go get the rice that was missing but instead I get yelled at and also the door dash driver by a member of the Flamboyan team. I do not need free food, perhaps that's why we ordered an $11. We were so looking forward to liking this place; however, we were so disappointed. Both meals (Mongolian beef and beef w broccoli) were so bland and the least amount of food for Chinese take-out we've ever seen. This place costs more than the other Chinese restaurants in the area and does not even compare in taste or quantity. The fried wontons appetizer was 6 small wontons that were so overcooked, it was incredibly difficult to bite into them. ($3.25) Mongolian beef only had like 5 or 6 pieces of meat. House fried rice and 3 pieces of shrimp put on top (not even cooked w the rice). Each meal was approximately $9.50, definitely not worth it. This is my favorite Chinese spot to go to when I'm in town. This review is focused on their vegan options. Essentially any "meat" style they have you can also get made with tofu. After having some pepper chicken at my neighbor's house I ordered from this location a couple times. The food quality appears to be good but my complaint is about the quantity and the counter staff. First sometimes they do not answer the phone and your only option is to order online and you will get all kinds of status texts and emails. Not necessarily a minus but they don't answer the phone. I ordered the pepper chicken every time and I have ordered three times plus the food I shared at my neighbors. She had the most generous portion I saw and she got that through Uber Eats. The pepper chicken comes in your standard foam clam shell. The large part is filled with rice of your choice. The two smaller compartments have the chicken meat and peppers and onions. I would not say they are completely filled but with all the rice my husband and I split this dinner along with an appetizer. I paid 50 cents each time for extra sauce as advised by my neighbor. We have ordered the steamed dumplings twice and they were excellent and the sauce is just right. My problem is today I paid the 50 cents for the extra sauce and $3.00 for extra meat. I got the same amount of food or even a little less. There was barely any peppers or onions and so I expected those compartments to be filled however the volume of food was about the same given they shorted the vegetables. Net is I paid 3.50 extra and got roughly the same quantity of food. Today we also got the fried plantains. These were over cooked and cold. Almost like they had them sitting around and boxed them up along with my hot food. When I went to pick up my food I asked the lady at the counter for an extra small container. She said something about how I could have a very small one and then charged me 50 cents. So in fairness I tried to phone her to discuss my issue with the chicken/vegetable ratio and I was surprised she answered the phone (I got my food at 3:30 PM and it was only 4:00 PM) so I guess it was slow. The same person who answered the phone was at the counter and said yes yes I got double meat! I am guessing she thought I was a first time customer but she was not willing to discuss my food order. So my advice would be: 1) Get the dumplings they are great 2) Don't pay for extra except maybe the sauce 3) Even though they tie up the bag, check the contents before you leave I won't be back. There is an Asian food restaurant in almost every plaza in this area and they don't make me feel like a valued customer read more

Great casual dining experience last night! This place is not like most Chinese restaurants, as you can tell by the name. I hope my review is comprehensive enough so that you can make a decision based on my honest opinion. Food/Taste (9/10): I ordered their Pepper Steak with house fried rice and their Tostones. My friend had their Sesame Chicken with veggie rice (kudos to whoever posted that photo!) that was featured here on Yelp, and my other friend had their Fried Pork Chops. Our food was delicious and fresh - I thought the experience was above average. They have a ton of selections! We decided to order their sugar doughnuts for dessert after our meal. Price/Portion(9/10): As some reviews have stated, their price is a bit higher than other places around here. But, the quality is unparalleled. The steak that they use come from the flank! The food wasn't terribly oily as you would expect it to be at other places. Above all, they prep your food fresh when you order it - you won't have this at a chain restaurant. Their portion size is average. Cleanliness (10/10): This is the cleanest Chinese restaurant that I have ever walked into, period. It doesn't get any cleaner. I need not elaborate on this. Ambiance/Feel (7/10): It's casual, but not cafeteria casual. It's definitely not *fancy* but it's not an eyesore. The food and cleanliness more than makes up for slight lack of decor. I've ordered a variety of items from their Chinese and Puerto Rican Menu and they are always consistent with their great quality foods. The restaurant is very clean and open.
