I tried the Mondongo, and the flavor was outstanding it truly reminded me of a dish my mother in law would make. My girlfriend had the Mofongo, which she adored for its garlicky taste and perfect seasoning. The service was incredibly sweet and friendly, with quick and attentive staff. This restaurant has a spacious layout, plenty of seating, and a bar. It's an ideal spot for a large group gathering or a nice date. I feel the service could be more attentive but they are friendly. The interior is clean but not super upscale. A mix of high top, bar seating, and low top tables. The music is nice and not too loud. I went with a cocktail and appetizer sized sancocho. The sancocho didn't have much to it but was tasty. 2 pieces of veggie and one piece of meat with a lot of bones. Was greeted with friendly hellos and was sat down quickly. I ordered from them in the past when I ordered delivery in my area since they were close by. They have great reviews so I always planned to visit their location in person. They explained that they had lunch specials that came with tons of sides to choose from. I got the crispy pork which was cooked perfectly and got a passion fruit juice that was a perfect level of sweet and tart. I ordered a Yaroa to go and they packed it full, definitely money's worth. Heard about this spot that it was a mix of something like Dominican and Puerto Rica ...yup, say no more, I'm already sold. Was. Wrong. They served the Mofongo in what looked like a kings chalice, and they were loaded. No over loaded to the top, and still piled on more with even more meat, and even more flavor. The skirt steak was as thin as a 2 credit cards but luckily it was fresh and seasoned well. 2nd the arroz con guandules came out semi luke warm with actual cold spots around it. My only complaint, and the only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars, is the wait staff. Yes they're friendly, but we always wait about 10 minutes before a waiter even gives us our menus, and another 10-15min to get our drinks/water. Several times, food items were forgotten and given to us at the end when we were all done eating. At first I thought they were short staffed, but even on slow days where it's literally just me and another table, I'm still waiting just to be seen and given menus. On busy days with plenty of waiters and waitresses, the service is still slow. There just doesn't seem to be a sense of urgency from anyone.
