The entertainment was absolutely amazing, and the food was delicious. The atmosphere and overall experience had a lot going for it, and we genuinely enjoyed ourselves. Unfortunately, our experience was somewhat overshadowed by the way our waitress explained the pricing. She made it sound as though the full meal was included in the price of admission, which was not the case. We felt that the way it was presented was misleading and left us feeling deceived when we received the bill. I have no problem paying for a meal when the pricing is clearly explained. What bothered me was the way the information was communicated. Customers should be given an accurate and straightforward explanation of what is included with admission and what costs extra. The entertainment and food were both excellent, but the misleading explanation about the meal took away from what otherwise could have been a fantastic experience. I hope management addresses this because the restaurant has a lot to offer, and clear, honest communication about pricing would make a big difference read more

What an awesome experience it was. A group of ladies and I joined the Valentine event schedule at restaurant and it did not disappoint. The options for food and drink were fantastic and tasty, the service was very kind and personal while the band delighted us to our hearts content. This was our first time here and we absolutely loved it. The ambiance and customer service were excellent, and the food was good as well. We came because my wife had always wanted to see a live salsa band, and it turned out to be a great, unique experience. Highly recommended if you're looking for something like this. Overcharging for drinks They said they give margarita with don julio and i saw the pour it was house tequila. They overcharged me one drink and the bartender girl said she gave me it and never did. Lovely place. Gustavo, our server was amazing! Excellent hospitality! He served us with a warm smile and always made sure we were doing well. We Med Diego, The Bartender. He was also very kind. He took a minute of his time to come to our table and welcome us. The food was very delicious! El Churrasco was the bomb!! I am definitely coming back on my next visit. Passed by this restaurant a few times. Decided to give it a try for lunch today. It was really good! Felt like I was in someone's back yard eating a homemade meal. I come here every year for an annual holiday party. The evening is filled with music, salsa dancing, food and gift exchanges. The staff is always great, providing whatever is needed for a crowed of 50 or so. There are a few stand out dishes here, ropa vijeas is really good, the filete con pollo is juicy and the empanadas. I enjoy them all with rice, beans and plantains. My beverage of choice is usually the margarita or mojito. Located in a small strip mall, the shared parking lot is usually crowded. There is metered and free parking on the street. Great Cuban food here. read more

This place sucks. Music is way too loud. Prices are outrageously high for the flavor and quality of the food. We will not return. We tried to get food to go once about 4 years ago. Some female screamed at my sister. From this last attemp to ear there, well, it's another fail. It's a place you got to dance and get drunk so you don't notice you paid $70 for you meal. Old School vs New School I will always choose Old School. And this is my ultimate favorite old-school spot of mine. Service was top-notch our server whom I've forgotten his name(sorry) was a young gentleman with a very handsome face. Could be a model. Absolutely best Cuban food in all of LA! It's been years since we've been here and it's reassuring to know nothing has changed. The chicken is still moist, flavorful, tender with lots of garlic. The arroz con frijoles negros and plátanos maduros were spot on and the yuca out of this world. Salsa night is fun here, too. This is for the dancing, not food. I have heard about this place forever but unfortunately it is far from where I live. I go to Latin dance clubs that are around my area. Last night looked on line and they had a live band!!!!! Live band was all I needed to know on a Monday night. It's a small cozy space. It seems that everyone knows everyone. Everybody was nice and respectful. The music was all I needed in my life. I wish people understand how magical it is to have real people playing real music. We enjoyed our meal here. We were served by Rolando who was a one man team and we can tell that we was really working hard. He was awsome while trying to serve quite a bit of us first thing in the morning. Our food was really good and the chicken was falling right off the bone and was very juicy. My cousin really liked the plantain chips and the Churrasco meal. We got the sampler plate and were able to feed 1 adult and 2 children. The flavor was very tasty for sure. When we passed by last night we saw they have a Friday night dancing. We will have to check it out some time. I told them that we just wanted to eat Cuban food and were not there for the performance. They demanded that we pay the $20 cover charge if we wanted to eat - We walked away. I came here to celebrate my birthday, and I could say I found such a unique hole in the wall spot. Everyone from the staff to the food was so special. I had been concerned because we had a table at 8pm and there wasn't many people. There was a salsa class that started at 8:30p and then people started trickling in. By the time it turned 9:30p/10p-ish there place was packed. There was a live band, the food was delicious and unique since I never had Cuban food. The hospitality from our servers were something I noticed and really appreciated since it felt like an authentic Latin home restaurant. Someone I wasn't able to get a photo with who made our night extra special was this employee named Gustavo. He was so sweet with me and my girlfriend he touched our table multiple times even when we finished with our food and drinks. He told us fun stories and kept encouraging us to dance which we definitely did. He even went out of his way to get my girl a fan to cool off and let us keep it. We had such an amazing time and we look forward to seeing Sonia and Gustavo because they were not only so sweet and genuine with us but also made it feel like we weren't just another customer but part of the event. Food never arrived at my table. After an hour I asked for it to go. They brought me this big trough like for catering. The rice was all watery and swollen. Worse experience ever! No one acknowledged us for ten minutes and when they did it was a woman who was sitting down who said you can't eat in here with a dog. Mind you I came in to order my staff lunch to go and I was carrying my ten pound dog looking at a menu I had to locate. This is one of my favorite spots to visit when I'm back in LA. Not sure about how it is during the day, I can only attest to Friday/Saturday nights for salsa nights! A live band sits at the front of the restaurant with a plentiful dance floor that is never empty. I love how people are there just for the love of dance, I didn't feel hesitant to dance with new people or even some grandmas who were there to just have a good time. Best to make a reservation for a table a day or two before (check the website). So nice to have a table to sit down at for a breather in between songs. There is comprehensive Cuban menu but a separate menu for people who reserve a table for salsa night (includes price of admission). Food was hearty and amazing! This place isn't just a dance club/restaurant...it's an experience! even if you are not into dancing, the people watching is pretty entertaining too. Last few times I was there, there were some professionals like dancing with the stars level. Before the band starts there is a simple dance lesson for newbies too.
