It has been hard to find a good Mexican restaurant in the St. Pete area, most are too Tex/Mex or try to be "fancy" and everything in the menu is overpriced. This place had a local Mexican vibe, small and probably family owned. The staff were really nice and attentive. The place was clean, and plenty of items in the menu. Ordered the Lunch Fajitas with a Chile Relleno à la carte. The food was delicious, both the refried beans and the rice had flavor and no burning taste. The chile relleno was on the smaller size, but very tasty. They had a few beers on tap, and mostly bottles. I was actually surprised to see the place being a little slow during lunch hour, but they might be new. The menu here is very extensive and the food was really tasty! They start you out with chips and salsa, with unlimited refills. The chips were hot and super crunchy, and the salsa was very flavorful. I ordered the enchiladas rancheras and it was the perfect portion. The green sauce wasn't spicy but had lots of flavor, and I loved the texture of the chicken inside. The ambiance here is very well-decorated and cute, with some screens playing sports as well. The service was good too, our server was attentive and helpful with refills. This is a great Mexican spot tucked away in a small shopping center in Pinellas Park, and totally worth a visit! I'd describe the food here as Tex-Mex, and everything I've tried so far has been delicious. I've been back twice for the Camarones Fundidos, a massive plate of rice topped with shrimp, grilled peppers and onions, tomatoes, and all topped with a creamy cheese sauce. I always have amazing delicious dishes here. It's actually our favorite Mexican restaurant in our town. The staff is always friendly. The decor is outstanding. The menu selection is huge, but don't let that throw you off because all the dishes I've ordered have been great. My favorite is the Enchiladas Supreme. Wishbone would have taken photos, but I forgot because I was hungry and it was so good! I'll definitely be going back & will take photos next time to post here. read more

Best Carnitas dinner in the area! Hands down! Always moist, tender and very tasty. Sometimes you get a piece or two with a little fat but that what makes this dish so good. Excellent Margaritas, chips and salsa. Definitely get the house hot sauce. It's hot and tasty. I had the Guerrero Loco dinner. The beef chimichanga in cream sauce was very good. The fried, stuffed jalapenos needed work. Although the breading was warm, the actual jalapeno was cold. The cheese stuffing was just this side of cold. The jalapeno was a little chewy. Taco salad was very good. We've been coming here for years, and it's hit and miss. Carnitas incredible. Stuffed jalapenos not so much. The service has always been good enough. It seems that I'm always trying to track down the server to get more tea, beer or another Margarita. The one amazing non-food thing that sets this place apart from all other Mexican restaurants is the art. Tables, chairs (backs of chairs) are painted in colorful scenes of Mexican life. But the enormous wall painting of the mythical figures of Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl (the Aztec Romeo and Juliet) is phenomenal! For me, the hits exceed, and are well worth, the misses. We had found Los Guerreros Mexican restaurant back last year and it reminded us so much of the Mexican food we always got to enjoy back home in Arkansas. We had been 3-4 times before this time. This time though was awful. It was my daughter's 9th bday and of ALL the places she could choose from she wanted Mexican so they could sing to her and bring a dessert out like every time we've ever celebrated. Just to be sure this Restaurant did it. My mother-in-law arrived before we did and went in to ask Because you can't get anyone to answer the phone. She was told yes they do sing and give a free dessert. So we arrived my in-laws had already been in at a table waiting about 15 to 20 minutes before we arrived and it was nothing short of a miracle just to get a glass of water for her and her husband that is handicap while they waited. When we walked in and realized which lady was our server, she had actually been our server the last time we were there, and we almost didn't come back because of it. Her name on our receipt is Devanhi And the previous time we were there, the other girl who has always been wonderful notice We didn't have anything on our table and apologized For the lack of service and got our drinks. But this time the service was awful. Devanhi served everyone around us. The chip basket stayed empty and from the time she took our order to when we ASKED for the check she did not check on our table ONE single time other than when we stopped her and then took her forever to come back with the refill. But the worst part when she asked if we were ready for the dessert we had our cameras ready to film it expecting them to come sing because that's what they told us. They bring the dessert out and set it in front of my daughter. Absolute look of disappointment on her nine-year-old face. This child doesn't ask for much, all she wanted was to go to A Place for her birthday, where they would sing to her. At this point, the look on my face said it all and I asked are you guys not going to sing to her and she's like no we're too busy. My daughter was holding back the tears and my husband knew it so he started to sing right there in the middle of the restaurant and then all of a sudden a miracle happened, the server Devanhi that told us they couldn't because they were too busy decided to start singing . This was the absolute worst service And experience that we have ever had In a restaurant setting . I worked in a restaurant for years And I promise you had I given people the type of service we had I would've been left with nothing on the table. I mean it took literally 25-30 minutes to get our drink And then we never got refills on chips and it took forever for our food to come Out as they brought one at a time, by the last person got their food, pretty much everyone else was done. Then they had the nerve to literally add on some crazy tip to the Bill even though we were all paying separately. I told them they absolutely needed to take it off. I am not a non-tipper. I worked in the Restaurant industry for many years, but this was ridiculous. I even tried to talk to the guy at the register, no sympathy no comment, nothing. I am not a person who goes to a restaurant and has a bad experience and never goes back. Everyone has bad days. Everyone has crazy busy days and I understand that from someone who worked in the Restaurant business but after this, none of us will ever go back there. It's really sad when all the kid asked for for their birthday is to go to a restaurant with her family and her grandparents and be sang too And yet such a little act couldn't even be accomplished. not only that we had been bragging to my mother-in-law about how amazing the food was at this restaurant and this was her very first time there she loves Mexican and she told me this was the worst place I've ever been to in my life and I'll never be back! I tried to call many times over a three day period but Could not get a single person to answer the phone. I also tried to leave a review for that following week and it would not even allow me to leave a review on the website. That is why I'm just now leaving it. I have the receipt. Came here with friends for dinner after cleaning the beach. The space is beautifully decorated. The customer service was great, though the waitress forgot our dessert, but thankfully we weren't charged for it. The food was great. The rice and beans were perfect. The guacamole was great. My friends really loved their food and called this the best Mexican food they have ever had in the area. I ordered a asada quesadilla and super burrito w/ asada. Both were really full of flavor. We have a new favorite Mexican restaurant in Los Guerros. The decor is beautiful, the place is exceedingly clean, and the food fantastic. The menu is large and varied, but everything our group of 20 got was wonderful. The sauces were complex, flavorful, and complemented each dish perfectly. Everything was good and tasted great, however, they did not handle my girlfriend's allergies well... She has a dairy allergy and her food came out with sour cream, which is fine, however instead of remaking it, when the second plate of enchiladas came out, you could clearly see that they just scooped and scraped it off. Had to scrape off everything on top that the sour cream was on (lettuce and tomato) and we hope to god she doesn't have a reaction later. A lot of things wrong with this Mexican place I've lived in Texas so I know something about what is good and what is not good with Mexican restaurants. The plates lacked color, honestly it was gross see my pic. The chips tasted like they were fried in rancid oil. The margaritas tasted like they was VERY little alcohol. The salsa was just bland. The tamale was a freakin joke. They said they didn't have shredded beef, my tamale has a mix of shredded and ground (?) beef. The service was way subpar and as others have noted I don't think even the wait staff knows the menu. Way overpriced. I would highly recommend avoiding this place. While visiting family we decided we wanted Mexican food for lunch and this restaurant was conveniently located close by their home. It was our first visit at this Mexican restaurant and we were very happy with our food experience there. Located in strip store plaza, it doesn't look like much on the outside so we were pleasantly surprised with the colorful and clean looking interior. We were greeted promptly by our waiter who was excellent and knowledgeable about their menu items. Complimentary salsa and warm tortilla chips were brought out right away. Salsa had a little spice to it - not much but it would appeal to all palates. I added a little hot sauce to mine because I love my salsa with a kick. We also ordered their guacamole and queso cheese sauce to dip our tortilla chips into while perusing their menu. Both were very good - the guacamole was very fresh and seasoned well. The queso was also delicious and it was nice to choose and mix dips to our heart's content. I chose for my main entree Camarones a la Diabla. The dish is shrimp cooked in a spicy tomato based sauce and comes with sides of rice and beans. I opted out of the beans and ordered extra rice in it's place. My dish was superb! If you like shrimp and spice then I would definitely recommend this meal for you. Plenty of perfectly cooked shrimp in a delicious tomato with some veggies and a good kick of spice sauce! Their rice is really good also - still had a nice bite to it and the flavor was very good. Went well with my shrimp to mop up all that yummy sauce - I cleaned my plate. My husband ordered their chicken chimichanga plate. Two chimichangas loaded with shredded chicken with some spices - rolled, grilled and topped with a generous amount of their cheese sauce. Hubby opted for all refried beans as his sides. He thoroughly enjoyed his meal saying it was very, very good. Wait staff were friendly efficient and hard working. Cleaning tables in between customers quickly, filling to go orders and waiting on customers. A very good first time food experience and we will definitely keep this restaurant on our list to go to when visiting family in that area in the future. read more

While eating we could see our server ALSO eating at the bar. She came to our table with a mouth full of food, still chewing. There was a baby in a baby walker slipping around. Service staff didn't seem to really care if we were there or not. We ate at the bar (we like to do that), and felt like we were encroaching on their space as the employees also sat at the bar while they weren't running food or waiting on tables. Seemed kind of odd....like we were sitting in the employee break room. Odd. You would have thought that with us sitting there, our service would be excellent. It really wasn't. We got our chips and salsa/drinks pretty quickly...but then it was almost 10 minutes before someone came back to take our order. The place wasnt busy....prob four other tables in total occupied. We finally saw our server who may have been prepping a to go order as she handed it to someone who was at the door. She then went back in the back again, and finally came back out several minutes later to take our order. If we hadn't been so hungry, we may have walked out. Chips and salsa seemed fresh (hot chips) and tasty. We got the fajitas, which were pretty good. Nothing so amazing we would drive back just for it, but still just pretty good. I must have passed by this plaza a hundred times and had no idea that there was a Mexican restaurant in it. A buddy recommended it and so the next time I was in the area, I stopped in. I am so glad I did. Complimentary chips and salsa started the meal. The salsa was the puréed variety and was tasty and fresh. I ordered the chile rellenos which came with refried beans and rice. I also ordered their homemade hot sauce. The chile rellenos were so good. It comes with flour tortillas to sop up the deliciousness. The homemade hot sauce was excellent and added some heat to the dish. The chiles were fried and stuffed with white cheese. The dish was covered with a tomato sauce that added a nice tang to the dish. This is our new go-to Mexican place!! First of all, the chips and salsa are so good, I'd come here just for that alone. On top of that, the food is very good. Our food came out super hot, right off the stove (and pretty quick). We also decided to get a margarita pitcher, because it was pretty much the same price as 2 margaritas. *Caution* the pitcher came out filled to the brim and was suitable for at least 4 people!! Decided to try lunch special take out. Ordered chicken burrito and chile. The chicken was extremely salty. Also, the chicken quesadillas which came with rice and beans. Rice and beans were good, chicken quesadillas also extremely salty. When I went to pick up my order the restaurant was not very busy and the person that assisted me was not very friendly/personable. Have had both lunch and dinner in the restaurant (mainly on weekends) and the food/service has been excellent. Maybe just an off day, but from now on will not be ordering take out! read more

Tried this place 2 times. The Ac was out and they had the ceiling tiles (3 ) open and fans attempting to circulate the warm air ? Not sure the health dept would approve of this. The food was ok nothing special, no flavor. The waitress was fine but the restaurant seemed dirty and musky. So we gave them benefit of doubt and decide to try them again, everyone has a bad day right ? Tried them again 1 month later and the Ac was still in same condition as our last visit. Fans running attempting to keep the place cool? It was very uncomfortable to say the least. The waitress was pathetic to say the least. She was a young girl that seemed very lazy. Even she was warm and she kept to her little table with a fan blowing on her . Our food was microwaved and tasted like crap. No flavor and over microwaved... again the waitress never came back to our table to see if we liked the food and or if we needed anything else. She was more concerned about staying cool in front of her fan. We waited forever for her to get out check,finally we started to head for the door to pay the bill which we had to ask for . After paying the bill the girl said absolutely nothing to us , thanks for coming in , have a nice evening, nothing . She couldn't care less. So, we will not return to this place . I recently noticed I've steered clear of trying new spots for certain cuisines as I've found a couple good ones and so many disappointments so I've stuck with the tried and true. I decided I needed to shake things up today so after a brief glance on Yelp I headed over with the intention to order a Chile relleno (Chile Poblano on their menu-the relleno is a different dish with ground beef and not battered), they offer lunch specials from 11-3 everyday and they're a bargain-truly. My server Rosa brought our chips and salsa while I reviewed the menu. The salsa was super fresh with a hearty kick of spice and the chips were fresh as well. I was torn between a couple dishes and went with the lunch steak fajitas per her recommendation and a Chile Poblano a la carte, holy fajitas Batman-for an $11 lunch entree I wasn't expecting much..it was a ton of food, served with rice and beans, sour cream, guac sauce, pico, lettuce, and 2 warm flour tortillas. My Chile was either lost in ordering or forgotten but I was honestly grateful as I made barely a dent in the food I had in front of me. My excuse to go back this week and satisfy that craving-hoping it lives up. The rice and beans were everything you hope from an authentic Mexican spot, the fajita was full of fresh, perfectly grilled onions and peppers, and lots of well seasoned steak! The restaurant was near empty with the exception of one large party finishing up but I was still shocked at how quickly my order came out!
