Never have I ever been so disappointed in a restaurant. First off, the establishment ran out of Diet Pepsi, which is not the end of the world, but definitely a start of what was to come. Waiter brought out the nachos, salsa tasted like tomato paste. No seasoning at all. My order was some sort of shrimp, chicken and steak with vegetables. Bacon and cheese on top. The order came out looking like a mish mosh mess. To my dismay, I could not find the shrimp at all in the meal. I ask the waitress, where is the shrimp in the meal and she went to the kitchen and came back and stated, that they ran out of shrimp, but tried to deceive me and served the meal anyway. Ultimately, I was charged for a plate of mixed vegetables and tiny pieces of steak and chicken. The other meal order was a chicken chimichanga, which consisted of shredded boiled chicken with no seasoning or sauce wrapped in a burrito. Not good at all. The manager of the establishment came over to hear me out about my meal. Her excuse for the missing shrimp was that they just had a rush and the shrimp ran out. So why would they serve me the meal, without letting me know?? After discussing the issues with my meal, she did comp it. Honestly, this was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. This is actually my first review ever. I just wanted to put it out there. Don't deceive your customers. Just let them know the truth!! read more

Server (Rolando was name on ticket) took our drink order, delivered waters with no straws. Came back with bar order, also no straws. Then disappeared for 25 minutes. Asked another server if they could find ours so we can order. Shows up to take our order, delivers food then disappears again. At the end of the meal, I get my own Togo box from the stand near our table. He brings us a bag several minutes later but no check. My family leaves after ten minutes and he comes back to ask if we want the check. We've come here several times over the past three years. This was extremely disappointing. read more

overall a good place for big groups and a good place to have events. everyone was happy with their food and the service was present throughout and continuously brought new chips for everyone. the only miss was the margaritas which were 50/50, but keep in mind they're BOGO so if you're not as concerned with the flavor it's still a great deal, plus they're mega sized. they do not do reservations but if you show up a half hour before you're allowed to put your name on the list. read more

Pinellas County is rich in taco places, but full-service Mexican can be hard to find. El Jalisco is a chain with a new-ish location at Starkey and Park. We went with a few friends for lunch on a Sunday and it was a good experience. The chips taste fresh and the salsa has a nice flavor. Apparently the chimichanga was pretty good. My chile relleno was good, but not great - the pepper itself was done nicely but I didn't love the chicken and would just do cheese next time. My beef taco was meh. The rice and beans were better than average. The menu is extensive and prices are reasonable. The drink menu is also extensive, with a lot of margarita options. Apparently the fancy margaritas were pretty good. The house margarita is enormous, and BOGO, but apparently pretty weak. Not a standout, but still a welcome addition to the neighborhood. read more

Visiting family and ordered delivery from this restaurant. We ordered 3 of the Rib Eye steaks with Shrimp,beans and rice and flour tortillas. We also ordered a carnitas burrito for one of the kids. The delivery was right on time our food was nice and hot when it arrived. The food was delicious! We got plenty of of grilled onions, squash, mushrooms and tomatoes and bell peppers which were included with the meal. We could not finish the servings. We will be visiting the location before we leave to try other items we saw in the menu. I called the place before ordering for delivery and a very nice and courteous gentleman explained that if we called it would be for pickup , so we ordered online thru Grubhub. Was excited to check this place out with all the hype I have heard in the local area. Lived in CA for many years. I am a huge fan of Mexican food to include all its forms. Taco Via in KC...if you know you know. El Jalisco is very americanized Mexican similar to Carmelita's. To be fair they do have a few more traditional dishes. Our party tried mole enchiladas, cheese enchiladas and the El Jalisco burrito. Chips and salsa were very good. Meals were simply just okay. Prefer Carmelita's or VIP Mexican or Jake's. El Jalisco and all of the ones I just mentioned are super Americanized Mexican and I am a fan of that! Best tacos come from the whole in the wall "real" Mexican restaurants anyway! I think the main problem with El Jalisco is that you are over paying for beans and rice and some combination of meat in a tortilla or shell. Just not worth the price or the hype. The mole in the enchiladas was not complex and was without any hint of sweetness or depth of flavor. Lacked the umami I desire. Huge menu with lots of options. I love that there is a go to restaurant in this area now! El Jalisco serves good food at reasonable prices and their cocktails are fabulous. I've been four times and each visit is great. Staff is friendly and accommodating, you never feel unwanted. I've had nachos, fluffy tacos, chorizo dip but my favorite is the chimichanga. Really great Mexican restaurant! We came for cinco de mayo and the service was great despite it being packed. Food was Delicioso and came pretty quick. I had the queso birra tacos which I loved, and my bf had the al pastor tacos and said they were slightly charred which gave them a nice crunch. The margaritas were also very yummy. Did not capture food pictures but get the fajitas for two! It's enough for four and hand down best fajitas around. Veggies include yellow squash and mushrooms, a level up from the standard onions and peepers. Includes all the meats: chicken, steak, pork, shrimp, and chorizo. It did not disappoint!!!! So we ordered the Swirl Margaritas and they were so delicious and well prepared. Chz dip is the real deal. I personally ordered the birra tacos after the managers recommendation and it was extra yummy. We also ordered a quesadilla and it was delicious as well. We needed with fried ice cream. This restaurant really has a beautifully authentic approach to Mexican cuisine. I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this experience. The fresh salsa and warm chips is awesome to start, add table side guacamole if you want to get impressed, it's outstanding. I loved their ribeye steak fajitas. There has been a lot of interest in this new restaurant, so we gave it a visit. First impressions are good. Nice updated decor, plenty of friendly staff, and lots of customers. The atmosphere is one of a big part in progress. So is the noise level. It's hard to hold a conversation without raising your voice. We were seated promptly upon arrival and provided with complimentary chips and salsa. The wife ordered a margarita and the chimichanga dinner and I ordered a beer and the carnitas with green sauce. We ordered delivery. The food was awful. I ordered enchiladas. Enchiladas should have enchilada sauce. They were dry tortillas stuffed with chicken and topped with queso sauce that was so incredibly salty it was inedible. The other dish we ordered was the big burrito. What is going on with this restaurant? The last three times we have been there, it took FOREVER to give our order. The wait for a drink was ridiculous. I even went up to the bar, but it was unmanned!
