My mother & I visited for the first time. I had the regular bowl with carne asada. My mother had the same, but with crispy shrimp (no photo). This is my impression: CONS: 1. They charge for chips & salsa where other Mexican restaurants don't. 2. If you want another mild salsa (which is not a lot, the one that comes with the chips) it's an additional $2. 3. The red salsa in the bottle is SUPER spicy (con for me, but maybe not for you). 4. The green salsa in the bottle lacks salt. 5. The chips should at least be warm. They were not. 6. No coffee. Stopped here on a whim and got an excellent meal. Service was quick and friendly. The atmosphere is practically nonexistent, with only a couple of Mexican decorations. The restaurant has a dozen tables and 4 or 5 booths, but most of their business seems to be take out or delivery, which may explain the plain atmosphere. The 2 sauces, one mild and one hot, are generic average sauces. All liquids are served in disposable plastic cups which is why I could not give Taquitos Mexican 5 stars. I started off with Chips & Guacamole ($4.99). The guacamole is made fresh each day and is really tasty. The chips were crisp and didn't have too much salt. The Margarita ($7.99) was served in a flimsy plastic glass with a barely salted rim, since lipless plastic rims cannot hold the salt like glass does. The Taquitos Meal ($13.49) was excellent. I chose the beef for my protein and it was well cooked. The dish comes with 4 Taquitos, refried beans, yellow rice, and sprinkling of tomato, sour cream, and lettuce. I also ordered a burrito to go with no rice ($12.99). Served with chips. The wrap was nicely browned. Altogether a surprisingly nice meal for $50 (Including 18% tip). read more

In the area and ready for lunch. Taquitos Mexican was recommended by a friend and didn't disappoint. We visited at the beginning of the lunch rush and seated quickly. All the dishes you'd expect were listed on the menu, which made our selection easy. We ordered an appetizer but food came very fast. All dishes were great and prices were reasonable. Hidden in an unremarkable strip mall is a little hidden gem of a Mexican restaurant. Ordered their special, which was Pozole with shrimp as well as two tacos: carne asada and Al pastor. The pozole was full of flavor, and was really enjoyable. Tacos were also great- tortillas were well above expectations and the filling was a proportional amount. They also have a cool thing where you can pay for a meal for somebody - and if you come in, and don't have money, you grab a ticket and the kitchen prepares one for you. I feel bad giving them a bad review because the waitress we interacted with was nice...(so there's a star for that)...but geeze the food was just not good. It wasn't even good enough to call it mediocre. I don't know under what circumstances or standards this would be considered 4 or 5 star Mexican food. Everything lacked flavor. Beef in the fajitas needed seasoning; rice was hard and tasteless; enchiladas with green sauce had chewy chicken and just so bland. The refried beans were more like prison food than the treat they usually are. The food here is absolutely perfect! Most Mexican restaurants are pretty average, but this place was above average! The service staff were very friendly, smiling, and helpful when we had questions about the menu. The restaurant was clean, and decorated nicely. There were a lot of to-go orders heading out the door, but that didn't seem to delay our meal, and was a good sign that other people were loving the food here too. Came across this spot by accident after a day on the water across from War Veterans Memorial Park in Bay Pines and was pleasantly surprised....the friendly service and authentic flavors, definitely a top spot! Don't be swayed just because it's not fancy with a very casual dine-in cafeteria style vibe and no outdoor seating, as it is in a shopping plaza. This is the real deal. I had the fajitas....with ALL the meats...chicken, shrimp and steak! You get to choose from flour or corn tortillas. I am normally not into the corn tortillas, but these were fantastic!! This is another somewhat hidden gem in the Bay Pines area I'm surprised we never came to before. We decided to come to satisfy our Taco Tuesday cravings. The restaurant is situated in a strip mall with a simple dining room. The staff were super friendly and prompt with service. We tried their horchata and chips & Queso to start. The horchata was one of the best I've had and was very flavorful. The chips and Queso were fresh as well. I tried 3 different tacos - veggie, firecracker shrimp, and beer battered fish. All were excellent, but I surprisingly favored the beer battered shrimp out of the batch. My husband loved his order of birria tacos. Gone are the days of pulling up to a gas station with a few tias in the kitchen, getting a few tacos and some elotes for about $10. This was my second visit and it solidified the average rating I initially felt. The tacos are small and made with one tortilla. I'm used to them being doubled because they fall apart. I've been on the hunt for some barbocoa and this is the only place I've seen it. The only item that really had any flavor was the steak. The staff is very friendly and the place is clean. I was craving Mexican food so decided to try a new place via UberEats. The menu had a good amount of choices/selections and prices were pretty reasonable for UberEats. I ordered the Shrimp Fajitas with an extra side of rice and beans. My fiancé got some tacos and a chimichanga. We both thought the food was excellent. My shrimp fajitas was a bit too salty and greasy but having the rice and corn tortillas helped balance that out. If you like things on the salty side, this would be perfect for you. They definitely don't skimp on the seasoning. The rice and beans were soft and fluffy. I really enjoyed them as sides. I didn't try my fiancé's food but he said it was very well seasoned and delicious. He liked the beef taco the best. The portions were big. I was sad we didn't take any pictures but believe us when I had leftovers for tomorrow. I would definitely try this place again, whether from UberEats again or in person! read more

We've been getting delivery from Taquitos Mexican for almost two years now, and we always get a good meal here! Their tacos always taste fresh, and the prices are pretty reasonable (except for on queso, the guacamole is a much better deal). I don't care for their fried options, so I skip the fish taco and the shrimp taco- the breading tends to fall off and the texture's not great. I wish their was a grilled option for those. I also don't love their fajitas, but I have a friend who does, so could be personal preference. I do, however, love pretty much everything else I've tried there. The al pastor (pork with pineapple) tacos are my favorite, but the chicken, carne asada, and barbacoa are all great. My husband vouches for the birria tacos, and I really like their tamales as well. And if you're in the mood for their namesake, taquitos, they're pretty good, too. Don't let the weird strip mall location fool you. These are tacos (or taquitos, or tamales) worth trying. read more

I went here while on vacation. Service was fast & prices were good, about $3 per taco. My husband ordered the Quesa Birria tacos and the Grouper taco. The Quesa Birria tacos were really good. The fish taco looked delicious, but I didn't personally taste it. My husband said it was really good. I got the Tinga (chicken) taco and the Barbacoa taco. The tacos are automatically topped with onions and cilantro unless you want the American version which is topped with lettuce, tomato, queso & a sauce for an up charge. I got mine with onion and cilantro. I felt the chicken and the Barbacoa tacos needed more seasoning or sauce or something. Maybe I should have gotten the American version. They were a little bland. I couldn't eat the Barbacoa taco because it was super greasy. Chips & queso were good. read more

We moved here from Texas and have been looking for an Authentic Mexican Taqueria and found this close to our home so we decided to go check it out based on other reviews! They have agua frescas too! I got an Horchata it was so good!! I have no t had that in forever! My husband got an Asada Burrito with mild hot sauce on top and I got the Asada tacos you have to ask for double corn tortillas otherwise they will put one and also Birria quesadillas which were truly amazing with consome!!!! These have been the tacos I have been looking for since I left California!! They honestly taste like home!!! This is family owned so please go support your local family owned businesses!
