DAAAAANGGGG THIS PLACE IS SO GOOD!!! I am in trouble working near this place from now on! Was leaving the area and wanted a nice burrito and this places popped up, I always appreciate an oddly located restaurant. Well I got the carne asada burrito to go and ate it in my car and MAN IT WAS SO GOOD! First off this is was BIG heavy and beautiful, the tortilla was crisped up perfectly on the griddle and it picked up some crispy cheese cause I had some surprise cheese crust bites. The meat was tasty the cheese was PERFECT the beans and onion and cilantro. I mean my god this is a perfect burrito. My only regret was eating while driving and not trying their salsa, next time! I ended up spilling my entire water bottle in my lap while driving and drove an hour and a half soaking wet and was still so dang happy because that burrito. COME HERE! read more

We went El Jr Tacos based on reviewes. It is in a quiet part of town, very nice and clean. It is inside of a very nice liquor store that is very well stocked. You go in and place your order, then pay at the liquor store counter. We ordered bean and cheese burritos, I was told many years ago, if a place can't make a good bean and cheese then it probably can't make much of anything else and these folks make a killer bean and cheese burrito! Very large and tasty their salsas are also really good! We can't wait to try more of what they have to offer! The place is really nice, clean and cute. Jr. and his wife? BRO FIVE F*CKING STAR! I got a carne asada burrito with extra cheese and they grilled the cheese so it's Smokey and I think at a chihuahua cheese BUT F*CK! It's amazing man! So flavorful! It's a taco shop inside a liquor store so don't get confused! Order with the deli and you pay at the register! Liquor collection is amazing too! Gotta wash it down with the Tara Fruit Juice drinks they got! I got a guava and it has guava pulp in it soo good! Great family taco counter inside the liquor store. You can tell they have regulars. We have purchased from them twice with catering for a local event for 180-200 tacos. Great amount of rice, beans, and salas! They also provided grilled onions, and chiles. They are a wonderful family owned and ran business. It's so great to see them all contributing and provide great food and service!! Please remember this is a taco shop the size of a deli. This is a small and local place, not fast food. BOTTOM LINE: Tacos + liquor store FTW! In a shared space of mostly what is a liquor store, El Jr Tacos makes some of the most best tacos and at some of the best prices in town. When I dropped by, they even made a complimentary dish of leftover jalapeño peppers (spicy!!). Staff were laid back and pretty friendly. The portions are pretty generous. There isn't really seating area so it's basically takeout only. read more

I have so much to say about this place to start off im 100% mexican I know what real mexican food is and im gonna tell you this place is fucking amazing excuse my language this place beats any mexican restaurant in down town Palm Springs and the coachella valley the food is actually amazing the taste the flavor everything I have not had anything i haven't liked they know what real food is The service is amazing i respect the couple for only being two of them they keep a positive and happy energy even when having a rush hour thats the type of people who deserve the world The prices are amazing not expensive so many Mexican owned restaurants charge so much for the most disgusting food and call it good but EL JR TACO knows how its done and its worth every dollar Check them out on instagram the marketing videos are amazing they put in the work But to end this all they deserve an award for being the best mexican food in the coachella valley read more

I had their chicken, carne asada and al pastor tacos. They were flavorful and delicious! Reasonably priced at $3.00 each. The order came with a side of grilled onions and salsas which were yummy. Definitely Recommend!!! It's hidden inside of a liquor store so it could be missed. Carne Asada Tacos were flavorful, Birria and Carnitas were delicious. Store is clean and welcoming. Definitely try the salsa... the light green one sneaks up on you. At first your like "ehh it's not that spicy...then boom mouth on fire" but in a delicious way. Staff members were helpful and made sure to make sure everything as you asked for it. Unfortunately there is no where to sit and enjoy your food except your vehicle. Based on Yelp reviews, my wife and I went over for lunch. We were fully prepared to tailgate our bean and cheese burritos. I hadn't read that the liquor store charges a fee for credit/debit cards. So take cash. (You order at the counter on the left and pay at the liquor store counter on the right) The woman who took our orders was lovely. The bean and cheese burritos were delicious. Great little find in a nice strip-mall bodega. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We went in for lunch "Taco Tuesday" where the tacos were $2.50 (I think $1 more for carne asada). Very flavorful meat and a great deal in my opinion! I tried one Carne Asada and two Al Pastor tacos. My Husband had two Carne Asada tacos and one chicken taco. Simple, flavorful and filling. The best bean and cheese burrito I've ever eaten in my life. I have eaten burritos all over the west, Texas and Mexico and El Jr is the winner. Only downside is limited outdoor seating and none inside. I'm glad I live close by! Quesabirra beef taco outstanding as well, but the bean and cheese is the star of the show! read more

Worst food I have ever had. It was nothing but grease. The torta was not on toasted bread as it should be, it was soaked inside and out and just a wet mess of grease. No flavor at all, other than the grease it's cooked in. We tried the Birria and Carne Asada fries, as well as some tacos, and there was absolutely no flavor in anything. Everything was awful, and all you get is just something very plain on the meat, no seasoning of any sort, and grease. That about says it all. The videos/images we saw it looked so good and was a huge disappointment. Never again would I consider trying it. Go Try Leo's in Indio. It's not even the best, but its 100 times better than this place and they have decent carnitas. read more

I'm on vacation with my family and we found this place on accident. Service was great. They mentioned that everything is fresh so my husband waited a bit but everything was worth it. Amazing taco spot in an unassuming liquor store. Top quality flavor with very fair prices! Heard about this place (next to fitness edge) inside the liquor store and just made my first visit (and will definitely return). Walk into the liquor store and go up to the food counter, they have tacos, burritos, etc. ordered two tacos with everything, well its taco tuesday so three for $7! Got the pastor tacos, the nice container had three 4" tacos but with all the toppings and meat, they filled me up. Meat was very tender, all the toppings were fresh and tasty. The only positive is the decor,it's nice and has a cool Polynesian/mid-century vibe. That's where anything good ends. The service was terrible. We asked about specials as first-time customers, and our waitress conveniently failed to mention the Taco Tuesday deal. Instead, she rushed us to order. We later realized we ordered multiple taco plates that should have qualified for the special, but she never said a word. The food was even worse. I ordered fajitas, and what I was served was completely unacceptable,no vegetables, no resemblance to fajitas, just chopped chicken covered in chorizo and tomato sauce. It was disgusting. I took one bite and couldn't eat it. I planned to send it back, but the waitress disappeared and never came back to the table. I was stuck with it and only ate the sides, which tasted like reheated frozen vegetables and a small cup of beans. Despite barely touching the food and not receiving what I ordered, I was still charged as if everything was fine,about $22 for a plate I couldn't eat. When I finally addressed it, she insisted it was "fajitas," which is honestly ridiculous. To top it off, when my husband asked for a box, the waitress came back after handling cash and used her bare hands,with long acrylic nails,to grab his taco and put it in the container. That is completely unsanitary and unacceptable. Bad service, disgusting food, and poor hygiene. I will not be returning and will be reporting this place to the health department. Avoid this place. Warning Positive reviews are obviously coming from ownership friends.
