Food is good, but service is lacking. I ate at Felipe's last night by myself and was really disappointed at the service. I sat there for a good 5+ minutes before anyone even came over to take my order. A couple minutes after that, a party of 6 came in and they were promptly served chips and salsa, while I'm sitting there still waiting for chips and salsa. When I finished my drink, no one came over to ask if i wanted a refill, so I finally had to stop a server and ask for a refill. You need to give the single diners a little attention too, especially as many of us are locals and like supporting the local businesses. Not sure I'll be back again. read more

Great early lunch before flight. The staff was prompt and gracious to let us have loong lunch before flight. We sat inside - the decor is lively and festive (not loud). We had the Barbacoa (fantastic flavor) and chile relleno with shrimp (large relleno, large shrimp perfect cooked and the sauce awesome). Price is reasonable (a lesser place would have cost us about same) for quality of food and service. This is first time we've had Barbacoa (quesa-birria) the spices and tender pulled beef were fantastic. Came with a salad of red cabbage and pickled green bean which was v tasty. read more

After hearing about Felipe's all over social media, I FINALLY decided to check it out and what better way than celebrating two birthdays The week before, I called to try to make a reservation for a party of 12, but they let me know it's first come, first served (which honestly wasn't surprising because this place is popular ). So our plan was to show up early for brunch and hope for the best. We got there around 10:45 AM, checked in, and were able to secure a table Even though their posted opening time is 11 AM, people were already seated and being served before that...so they might want to update their hours Service was great! We had multiple staff members helping our table and everything came out smoothly Drinks were REALLY good We got a margarita flight, which was super fun to try! Food was good overall, but I do think there's room for improvement. Solid little restaurant. Don't let the strip mall location fool you. Ceviche was very good with lots of sea food. Service was also good.

Ordered a bunch of food for the New Year's Eve. And then it just still happens to be a one day which they are having a 50% off all Margarita, and that should take advantage of that. It's a busy night so we have to wait for an hour for our food. But $7 for mango margarita and the passionfruit margarita is definitely a really really good deal. Molcajete is a show stopper but is probably more theatrical than taste. It is indeeed very generous in portion and then I don't think two people will be able to finish that. What I loved the most is the fish fillet with shrimp and octopus. Lightly seasoned so fish still tastes fresh and sweet. Rice goes better with its lemony sauce and you still get quite full with all the octopus and shrimp. read more

Felipe's is a small, cozy spot with closely set tables and a large outdoor patio. The staff were warm and proud of their Jalisco roots, and answer my questions about the menu and how things were prepared. We began with bright guacamole and refreshing hibiscus margaritas rimmed with salt, pepper, and flower petals -- well-made, if a bit slow to arrive. My Carne en su Jugo was exceptional: thinly sliced steak and crispy bacon simmered in a rich tomatillo-and-serrano broth with onion, garlic, cilantro, and pinto beans -- a dish I'll remember. The carnitas were equally impressive: slow-braised pork shoulder finished on the griddle for crisp edges, served with beans, rice, guacamole, pickled jalapeños, and fresh tortillas. Everything was amazing here! My friend got the party private room for his birthday and it was a vibe. He paid $200 and it came with first round of shots and appetizers for the table. I also go a tamrindo margarita and passion fruit mojito. Both drinks were amazing. The steak was okay but I have had other food from here that is much better. Just got something basic this time around. Their tacos here are also great. Our server Mario was so cool. He was singing dancing and just so friendly. I love that type of service. First time trying this place. We came in early afternoon during the middle of the week, and it was fairly quiet with very few patrons. We waited a while to be seated while the hostess continued chatting with guests who were already dining. Once acknowledged, she told us we could choose our own table. We picked a spot, but the patio umbrella was tilted directly over me, so we simply moved to another table -- not a huge issue. Unfortunately, after sitting down, we waited several more minutes without any service at all. No waters, no chips and salsa, no greeting from a server -- nothing. The husband and I popped in here for a quick lunch. This is a pretty small restaurant with about 10 tables inside. They have a good drink menu here and the prices are great for Palm Springs. My one big complaint is that our appetizer came out after our main courses. I really enjoyed my taco salad. It was the best I've probably had in California. They fry the shell fresh and the shredded beef was really flavorful. My husband enjoyed his AguaChile and their house salsa is one of my favorites...chunky with a little undertone of heat. Bonus points for them bringing out a whole bunch of their sauces to try. You can tell the staff actually like working here and care about the customers. Really great food and exceptional service. I had the Filete a la Diabla (seared white fish in spicy red sauce) and it was delicious. It was Wednesday and half off margaritas. Woohoo. It's a small casual place in a shopping center with a patio with misters and a parking lot. I sat inside in the air conditioning. It's not a huge place but has a small bar and maybe 10-15 tables inside. Lots of locals and not in the touristy part of town. I'd go back! read more

I took my son and daughter-in-law to Palm Springs for lunch. Normally, when I go there, I do try to find a restaurant that I have never been to before. Felipe's was nice. We had an outdoor seat with misters which made it cool and comfortable. Jacob was our server who attended us quickly with drinks, chips/salsa and menus. Chicken flautas were very good. My son and daughter-in-law had the Molcajete, which I had never heard of before, and it was quite interesting. They really enjoyed it. I love this place. Let's start there. I'm pretty stuck up when it comes to food and idgas that it's next to the airport... that makes is accessible! Lol. Ceviche: 10/10 every time. We love this and that's something I get the moment I get off the plane. It's a big portion so it's best to share. Chips & salsa are great. Chilaquiles is good (red or white). Enjoyed a delicious lunch here. This is one of those Mexican-American restaurants where the ingredients are fresh and Prepared in house. I ordered the huevos rancheros. My over easy eggs were perfectly cooked. The ranchero sauce was outstanding. It was not overpoweringly red. It had a delicate flavor, which went perfectly with the eggs. It is one of those sauces that Guy Fierie would say you could "put on flip-flops" and they would be great. The refried beans were velvety and perfectly seasoned. The homestyle potatoes were again something you could tell were made in house and were cooked with green peppers and onions. Very tasty. The restaurant was nicely decorated and very clean. My wife and I are visiting town and found this spot. Wow ! They did not disappoint. Everything was so intentional from beginning to end. Customer service was beyond what I expected, they even held the doors open for us. The food was incredible, great taste and presentation. I usually do not like chipotle sauce but I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try the enchiladas de Camaron. 11/10 flavor and a bit of spice. We just happened to be in Palm Springs and a local recommended this place. Great recommendation! Nice looking restaurant with an outdoor eating area and a well decorated interior - a very comfortable and inviting place. Service was excellent, several people came to our table and checked in on us and were super friendly. The dishes we had were tasty and well portion sized. Every thing we had was great including the drinks! Fresh salsa and chips are complimentary and we ended up eating two bowls. Chili rellano plate had a wonderful flavor, and the tacos (shrimp and fish) were nicely fried. Right amount of batter and nice and crispy. I went during happy hour and it wasn't too busy yet, the server was prompt with seating me and taking my drink order, they offered chips and salsa but I declined as I wasn't super hungry, I ordered the queso fundido with steak substitute instead of chorizo, with flour tortillas which they accommodated, and let me know of the surcharge for that, I also ordered the happy hour queso birria tacos. When I got my queso fundido they delivered the wrong tortillas but my server fixed it before I even asked as he noticed it was wrong while it was being bussed. Excellent service! Yes they have a variety of gimmicky things which sometimes means the food is lacking that is 100% not the case here.
