There's alway places that you've walked by loads of times but never gave it a second thought. I've seen this place pretty much everytime when walking along the main strip. Palm Springs has a night market that happens Thursday night from 6-10 where it brings out people. Food vendors, arts and crafts, gifts and so on. A nice family outing on the main strip. Also all the storefronts are open as well. The thing with something like that, you tend to stand or find a seat along the curb to sit with your food. Hence we finally walked into this restaurant. It was pretty busy when we walked in but at the right time. Got seated right away as there was only two tables available. By the time we were seated, the line was pretty long. It's just off the main strip. Pretty decent size patio which seems to be where everyone was utilizing it as it was nice out. There's a bar area with seating as well as indoor, a smaller room. Service was nice. Water and menu was brought out first then came the chips and salsas. Quite tasty but can be filling if you can't control yourself. Started off with their classic margaritas and the spicy margaritas. There's a few dollars difference from classic to spicy. They weren't that bad. Menu wise, a mixture of all your Mexican dishes. We didn't have any starters as we just wanted the mains. The carne asada plate which came with both rice and beans. I opted for only rice. Thin skirt steak with chorizo, grilled jalapeño and onion, flour or corn tortillas and salsa. And the chicken enchiladas verde with the green sauce. The food was quite tasty. Carne asada plate was pretty plentiful. Nice skirt steak with a nice piece of chorizo. Both were quite tasty and flavorful. Steak was decent and cooked well. Not overly done. Then you have the enchiladas. It's decent in size but not too big. It's good if you're not too hungry. The sauce was great and was a perfect pair to the dish. As it was our first time, it was great. All these place that's been there but you walk by loads of time. Sometimes you just have to try new places out and see what comes of it. Maybe it's a hit. We quite enjoyed it and glad that we finally tried it out.

It came with chicken, Carne, Asada, chorizo, queso, and Napolis and Mariscos. The rice and beans portion were fairly small but confined with all the food. It was more than enough. Everything was delicious and hot.
Street tacos on Tuesday MUST be same protein. All the dishes had all the finishing touches you expect in a true Mexican dish. Pickled veggies Highly recommend and will be back

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The walled tree-filled patio and misters created a shaded space that was 10 to 15 degrees cooler than just being outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Thank goodness!! The servers were helpful and efficient, no small talk. We ordered a strawberry walnut salad, steak quesadillas, and tacos gobernadors. The salsa that came out with the chips was just ok but the chips were fantastic. We didn't get offered more though when our bowl ran out. The salad was colorful, beautiful and delicious. The tacos were fantastic. The quesadilla was good but was so huge we had to take some to go. We also had Jamaica agua fresca. This is a Pepsi only spot for those of you Coca Cola lovers. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bathroom was Palm Springs mod and had a track of songbirds playing. It was really nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We appreciated the good food and respite from the heat.

Mid morning in the patio and the shade. Bright colorful patio with a a fiesta vibe. Started with complementary chips and salsa. Excellent. She ordered a Bloody Mary and we waited. Reminded our server and still we waited. Finally on the third time it arrived. But don't blame the bartender, check back on our order and bring it. Carnitas platter had pork, beans, rice , guacamole, pico de gallo and house made tortillas. All pretty good. She chose chilaquiles with eggs and potatoes. Again nice breakfast. We enjoyed breakfast and may go here again on our next visit.
Very good experience at this outdoor dining spot right next to downtown Palm Springs! Perfect for a visit before heading over to the Palm Springs Thursday night market! The ambiance here is modern and cozy, with lanterns illuminating the dining area and a good amount of heaters, helpful after the sun goes down. You are served chips with salsa the minute you sit down, and the salsa is quite impressive! Service was quick, even with a big group. We got several individual entrees and a molcajete, which was definitely the star of the show. The carne asada and chicken from the molcajete were to die for -- perfectly seasoned and they paired so well with the warm tortillas. We also had the flan for dessert, which was solid!
Hidden gem not so hidden anymore. Still serving authentic dishes and providing excellent service. A must try,trust me. Also had to have their fish tacos. Freshly made with an abundance of flavors. Don't sleep on their micheladas. My wife fell in love with their coconut margaritas. Super yummy. Also shared a cantarito. More than enough for two people. We had an awesome time like always.

Very nice venue, great patio under a cool tree. Fast service and quick seating too. Food was pretty good too, the tamales were flavorful and a nice texture. The eggs were drenched in oil and the portion of enfrijoladas was pretty meager and not filling (please see essentially empty plate) but besides that the food that was there tasted decently good.

Looking for great Mexican food in the Palm Springs area? You gotta check this out. A chill and sabrosa outdoor dining experience. If you like it spicy, ask for the salsa sampler to try with the chips. I was disappointed that they were out of Mole Ranchero, but they offered to let me swap the chicken for pork in the Enchiladas de Mole. It was deliciosa! Great food, great vibe, and great food

My date mentioned that this location had stellar reviews and she wanted mexican so we stopped by First the octopus ceviche was wonderful tart and delicious. Pro tip be careful with that spicy red sauce! It's spicy but flavorful My date had the chicken enchiladas. The rice was delicious and not mushy. The green sauce tasted authentic and finally a spot that stuffs the chicken in the tortilla. At times some places skimp on the filling I had the steak nachos with everything. It's hard to mess up nachos but they were equally good. The staff was very attentive serving the some chips and cold water as soon as I was seated and I found them to be very attentive. Some of the most disappointing Mexican food I've ever had. We stopped in for an air conditioned meal and sat at the bar. I ordered the vegetarian enchiladas and my husband got the shrimp burrito. It came with complimentary chips and salsa, which was nice. We also ordered elote. Elite: 5/5 delicious and fresh Enchiladas: 1/5 horrible - literally the dried, brown ends of kale and a couple canned mushroom slices for the "vegetables." Shrimp burrito: flavorless and mono textured with 3 shrimps, My husband got a Diet Coke, which was $6. No refunds were offered for coke or water. In a town filled with trendy and overpriced taco spots, El Patio is a great down-to-earth option for some good Mexican food. What drew me to this place was their carne asada plate, which comes with a generous portion of steak and all of the fixings to make your own bites. The flavors were great and the dish was as impressive as the pictures suggested. What really impressed me though was the octopus ceviche. Not only was it delightfully fresh and flavorful, the portion size was comically large which made it a great value. In fact, all of their dishes are generously portioned and can easily be shared. First night in Palm Springs and this spot did not disappoint! My sister ordered the Mango Margarita, I had the Jamaica Margarita--both were super refreshing and packed with flavor. For food, I got the chile relleno with asada--so good! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well-seasoned. My sister had the chipotle camarones, which had a great smoky kick, and we ordered the hard shell taquitos for my mom, which she loved. The service was amazing--both the host and our server were friendly and very attentive. The vibe is clean, modern, and aesthetically on point. We sat outside around 6:30pm, and luckily the heat had started to ease up. Highly recommend this place if you're in Palm Springs--we're already planning to come back before we leave! read more

I saw the photo. The photo of the tacolgado. Three mini tacos hanging on a rod with mini clothespins. An example of insta worthy food. As a sucker for dishes like this I had to drag my family to El Patio. I didn't have high expectations for the food. I honestly just wanted to take a photo of the tacolgado to photo brag to my friends! We all ordered different things and they were all pretty good! I enjoyed my tacolgado which has mini birria tacos vibes and the cheese oozing off was so insta worthy. They accommodated my son's various food allergies and he ate his entire bowl of potato taquitos and now he has a new fave Mexican dish. The bathroom (there were two) were occupied for a very long time and each time it was a staff member. Not sure if that's usually the case but something to note if you have a kid who is about to p their pants! read more
We came here for lunch and had a great experience! We decided to sit outside and they accommodated our stroller. They sat us right next to the fire and we loved it! They have an awesome bar area and inside seating! We loved the decor in this place! Our waitress was kind and attentive! When we sat down, we were given chips and salsa and they were delicious! My husband got the surf and turf tacos and I got the steak fajitas! Everything tasted fresh and delicious! We want to come back here and try their drinks! read more
Everything we had was delicious and the location in downtown Palm Springs is hard to beat. The only qualm I had was the prices are very steep, over $20 for 2 tacos and $18 a marg. But everything was delicious and the waitress was very friendly! The Chile relleno asada was one of the best I've ever had and the guac and margs were great too! read more

El Patio had an excellent atmosphere. The outdoor dining area is well decorated and comfortable. We joined for a late lunch and were quickly treated to chips and salsa. The salsa was tasty but could have used some heat. Additionally the amount provided was too small for the amount of chips provided. My partner ordered the steak and chorizo tacos and thought the flavor was excellent. I ordered the shrimp tacos. The shrimp was cooked well and flavorful however the tacos had too much cheese which overpowered everything on it. Both our orders of tacos were also slightly soggy when we received them. Ultimately the dining experience was pleasant but we'd try somewhere new next time. read more
The place was packed! We were seated outside on the patio, because it's in the name, haha. We quickly were served drinks and chips with salsa and it was delicious and we didn't event eat yet. We shared a taco plate and all the flavors were popping with each bite and the salsa definitely slapped. Ended the night with a cafe and churro cart, I cheated on my diet and it was so worth it, the cart was so cute and had caramel, chocolate, sprinkles and condensed milk a variety of sweet dipping sauces. The regular food options can be a little pricy but the happy hour menu looks like a steal! Stopped in for an afternoon bite and drinks and everything was delicious. An absolutely amazing experience! Totally loved every moment of our dinner at this phenomenal restaurant! The patio itself is fantastic, but even if you're sitting indoors, you can rely on the wonderful service and the out of this world food!! Someone in our group mentioned that this was probably the best Mexican food they've ever had in their life and I couldn't disagree. Everything was absolutely perfect. Whenever we go out to Palm Springs, we always stop at El Patio. Whether it's for a drink or for dinner. I love their passion fruit margarita. It's delicious and hits the spot. The most recent time we visited, we ordered their shrimp ceviche, absolutely delicious. We would order it again! He ordered the surf and turf tacos and I had the filet topped with shrimp and octopus. My, oh my.. both were delicious! It was an explosion of flavor! Every time we've visited the service was and is always top notch. They never forget to check on us. My sweater actually fell on the ground cause we sat outside and the waitress came and picked it up for me. Again, this place is our go to when we're out in Palm Springs. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting good food, drinks, and friendly service! read more

I had called El Patio in advance to try to make a dinner reservation for my large party. While they didn't take reservations, they said if I called them a few hours in advance to give a heads up, they would have a table ready for us. And that's exactly how it went! The patio itself had a great ambiance, with a huge tree with lanterns hanging off it and colorful walls. We were seated at a large high-top table. For drinks, I chose the Mango Tajin Margarita. I didn't realize it would come frozen, so this wouldn't normally be my go-to, but it was massive and super strong. My friends loved their cocktails, especially the large variety of margaritas. We also got an order of Guacamole Especial (no pork) to share for the table. The portion size was enough for the 8 of us and I really enjoyed the hunks of cheese. For my entree, I got the Surf and Turf Tacos. These were tasty and deceptively filling! My friends all enjoyed their food as well, including the Carnitas Platter, Enchiladas, and Taco Salad. Service was friendly and efficient, and the staff did a great job handling our large party. Worth the visit! read more

Delicious! Rather pricey but it's delicious. The seating is outdoor and well... it's a patio. The decor made me want to go back at night and see what it would look like because I bet it's amazing. The food was delicious. I had a watermelon margarita and it was fantastic, I had a hard time choosing which one to have. The wait staff were prompt and friendly. My only complaint is that a "side" of guacamole shouldn't be "market price" and be $14 but it was delicious. A must try Mexican food restaurant when in Palm Springs. read more

Stopped back in to El Patio on my recent visit to Palm Springs. I love the outdoor seating, restaurant theme, friendly staff, large menu, and complimentary chips and salsa. This is a must try if you love Mexican food and find yourself in the area, there are a few nearby parking lots and structures to help alleviate the stress of parking downtown! Stop in for yourself to try their delicious food & drinks! read more
