    Frozen Margaritas with sugar rim
    Jessica M.

Love love love this place! I brought my Mom here and she absolutely loved it. She could only drink 1/2 a frozen margarita... she said they were too good and strong, lol. We both got the taco Tuesday special. I did chicken and carne asada tacos, my Mom did the carne asada and pork carnitas taco special. It comes with rice, beans and homemade chips, plus either a frozen margarita or beer. Gina, one of the owners, was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! SO patient explaining everything to my Mom. She was incredible! Customer service in Palm Springs has been amazing since we have been here. Love supporting Latino businesses, and I will always be back to El Patron!

This is such a great restaurant right downtown, Palm Springs! They have an excellent happy hour, very affordable! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful restaurant with plenty of indoor as well as outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was friendly and fast, and the food was plated and presented beautifully. The drinks were also delicious, you simply can't go along with anything on the menu you're here. I recommended if you are looking for authentic and flavorful Mexican food.

Amazing service, vibe, tacos and margaritas. Also, Gina is incredibly cool. So much love in this place.

Wonderful time here tacos were delicious. My server Bubba cared for me to the outmost possible thing he could possibly do. Drinks are amazing. Food is good. Highly recommend get Bubba as your server.

The restaurant was super close to our hotel so why not! We saw they had 4 shots for $30 so we had to visit. The Mexican candy shots were delicious. The asada tacos were flavorful. I would recommend the flan it was delicious . You order and pay at the counter so service was very fast. I got the patron salad nothing to rave about. They have handmade corn tortillas which were very tasty! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We went in a Saturday and it wasn't crazy busy so that was nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The outside patio was perfect to sit eat and people watch![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Went to El Patron in Palm Springs and overall had a really good experience. We ordered the shrimp ceviche with avocado, a loaded hot dog, and a huge tray of nachos. The ceviche was very fresh, light, and flavorful, and the avocado on top made it even better. The nachos were massive and loaded with meat, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and pico de gallo, perfect for sharing. The only thing that surprised me was the hot dog. The toppings on it were almost the same as the toppings used on the nachos, like pico de gallo, avocado, and sauces, so it looked a little weird and unexpected on a hot dog at first. But the flavors actually worked together better than I expected. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was lively, portions were generous, and the food came out fresh.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Definitely a fun place to eat with friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Everything from the customer service to the food to the cleanliness![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is definitely one of my favorite spots! Gina assisted us along with the other amazing staff. Every time I come to Palm Springs this is a must go to spot. The food and drinks are absolutely delicious and the staff is so accommodating and kind. We recently came here and had the happy hour menu. It was just the right amount of portions and the drinks were on spot! Thank you to the team for continuing to create delicious foods and drinks! Much appreciated!

Centrally located spot right in downtown Palm Springs offering a solid happy hour and lots of patio seating for ample people watching! Staff all very friendly, and attentive; they did let us know after being seated you go up / in and order at the counter inside and they give you a number for your table. Happy hour menu consists of mini nachos and tacos, etc. offerings and a few cocktails. Some beers on tap too here. Cool fun spot to stop if walking around.

Drinks are so strong, yet so good. Perfect pre-game, while I didn't get the chance to taste the food, I hope to come back and give it a try because it smelt delicious. My favorite was the mexican candy shot and the prickly pear blended margarita. Excited to come back! Service was pretty quick for being busy, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]ambiance is perfect for a late night place to sit outside and enjoy the nightlife.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We were walking around downtown and needed a little snack so we stopped by El Patron. The inside dining area is very small and was full, so we were seated out on the patio right next to the sidewalk on Palm Canyon drive. It was nice and cool under an umbrella and the overhead light water mist felt great on a hot day. This was also a great spot to people watch. We were saving room for dinner later that evening so we just ordered chips and salsa with guacamole. You have to go inside to place your order and then they bring it out to you. The chips were some of the best we have ever had and the salsa was good also. The star was the guacamole, very fresh and creamy and a very good sized portion. Before we left, I did a search for "best chips & salsa in Palm Springs" and El Patron was on two of the lists I read. We would definitely like to return for a regular meal.

Service was a solid 10/10 everyone was incredibly accommodating. We came in with a group of 20+ and they had a table set up for the boys before we even arrived, which was such a thoughtful touch. Ordering is done at the counter, but the process was seamless and well-organized. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a great spot for group gatherings.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibes were on point, and everyone loved their food from the taquitos to the pozole, with the tacos being a definite standout[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We shared a bunch of dishes, which is definitely the way to experience the menu. The cocktails (not pictured) were fantastic--whether you're in the mood for a timeless classic or something a little more whimsical, there's something for everyone. The escargot was beautifully prepared and made even better by the perfectly char-grilled baguette that came alongside it. The steak tartare was an absolute flavor bomb with great seasoning, especially paired with the house-made potato chips. It leaned a touch salty, but in a way that made it the perfect appetizer and somehow had us ordering another round of cocktails. The grilled artichokes were simple, smoky, and delicious. The red curry mussels were served with that same incredible bread and an aromatic, deeply flavorful broth that we didn't want to leave behind. The smoked pork chop was another standout--beautifully charred on the outside while staying perfectly juicy inside. Beyond the food, the service was fabulous, attentive, but not rushed. The atmosphere is quintessential Palm Springs: stylish, colorful, well-lit and a lively environment overall. It made for a memorable birthday celebration, and everyone in our group left happy. We'll absolutely be back.

Reservations are notoriously hard to get, but we got lucky with a last-minute walk-in and were seated after 15-20 min wait. There's plenty of parking, and if you do have to wait, they have a cute little covered outdoor seating area with chairs and tables where you can relax. We sat on the patio, which was surprisingly cool and comfortable, so don't let the Palm Springs heat scare you away. The whole restaurant has such a sexy, colorful, candlelit vibe that somehow feels both lively and intimate. We kept the drinks simple and ordered Hugo Spritzes, which were refreshing and perfectly made for a hot afternoon. What we ordered: * Caramelized Onion Tart (Puff pastry, chive, Comté) - This was recommended by our server and I can see why. It reminded me of French onion soup wrapped in a flaky puff pastry. Rich, savory, and definitely shareable since it is a bit on the heavier side. * Red Thai Curry Mussels (PEI mussels, ginger, garlic, lemongrass, red chile, coconut milk) - WOW. This was hands down my favorite dish. The broth was incredible, rich and packed with flavor without feeling too heavy. I was worried the lemongrass might overpower everything, but it was perfectly balanced. It comes with toasted bread and trust me, you'll want every last drop of that broth. I'd honestly come back just for this dish. * Steak Frites - The steak was cooked perfectly medium and was delicious. The fries were crispy and seasoned well, making it a classic done right. * Broccolini - Simple but really good with a nice char that added great flavor. Overall, we had a great experience. The atmosphere is one of the best parts..beautiful, moody, and full of personality..but the food absolutely held its own. Service was friendly, the patio was comfortable, and now I completely understand why it's one of Palm Springs' hardest reservations to get. Definitely a spot I'd come back to.

Well this one, located in the Arena area of Palm Springs. Theres no name or signs anywhere. You just have to know where to look. Try opening doors and see which one opens. We were walking back to the car when I noticed the doors. As l had heard so much about it but didn't know where it was. Well lucky me, I opened the door with the first try. I had an idea on where it was but didn't know where. That's where the 4 stars come in. As I had the door open, I could hear from the bar area a gentleman yelling out shut the door. Ok, I get the dark hidden concept but yelling out like that, kind of rude. Do you not want people in. It was about 11pm when we walked in. You enter and it's a dark hallway straight to the bar. That'll be what you see right when you walk in. Place is covered in a dark damask wallpaper and only light are small fixtures. So dark and demure. Bar area is the main attraction with all the seating. There's a few hi tops along the wall as well as some seating in the back area. I'm not sure how big the place is as we only went straight to the bar and sat down. The menu is printed to resemble vintage newspaper. The dark mysterious room with tufted seats and dim lights is what this place is all about. But of course you can't leave out the drinks. Centered of the bar wall, there's Udo Kier watching you. Anyways, down to the drinks. Printed on the newspaper was a perfect touch. I went with the pisco sour and we had the bartender make something else with mescal. An updated smoke and mirror I believe. Drinks were excellent which we expected. The whole place is really dark and mysterious which was a nice touch. It wasn't that busy when we arrived Friday night. A couple of people in the back area which we definitely could hear...lol... There was no list to get in as we just walked in. The only downfall with the rating, the rude remark when we walked in with shutting the door all the way from the bar area. Yes we heard it from outside. There were two bartenders working , but we did chat with one of them and she was a sweetheart. Informed us that they too will be closed down for the summer holiday but will be renovating. Places out here closes at least a month for summer holidays and with the slow season due to the heat. First impression of this place, besides the rude remark was we really liked it. The drinks were great and tasty. It's not super big but more intimate. Can get a little loud as people are talking over each other. Could be the alcohol.... It's someplace I would visit again with people who I know will appreciate it.

Since it was slow in the morning, we were able to chat it up with the bartender and even explore a bit of experimentation in the form of a particular top secret cocktail that every mixologist knows. I definitely exercised my etiquette and reading the conditions to even suggest it. He couldn't be any nicer about our time with him. So yeah, Christopher H. from 9/9/18, I don't know what you're talking about. I make it a point to visit the bar at any Kimpton location nowadays. I always seem to have a good time. But then again, I can only speak for myself. Parking: Street, unless you're a guest at the hotel. FYI: - Despite the hours on Yelp saying this place is open from 4-10pm, they might open earlier, as we joined in at around 11am or noon. But don't hold me to it. If there's somebody at the bar, you'll need to simply ask if it is open yet.
