[[HIGHLIGHT]]If you want great service, great food, and a nice vibe, come to Tac/Quila![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My wife and I just went while we were in town for our anniversary and we will be back again! There are a couple restaurants in the downtown Palm Springs area that serve Mexican food, but none like Tac/Quila! The freshness of the guac, the cilantro lime rice, the fresh lobster and great tasting asada is what you have to come for! I personally had the asada plate which was a big portion and I give it 5 stars! The meat was so juicy, flavorful with just the right amount of seasoning. My wife got the lobster tacos and she said she can eat those everyday! To top all of it, the service was great! I didn't get our servers name but she was very informative, lively, and came to check on us every chance she got to make sure we are doing great! I left her a well-deserved tip at the end of our dinner! What are you waiting for??? Make the drive...stop by, and have a great night filled with dinner, and drinks!
First time dining inside, which was necessary bc the heat is WILD. Ambience is colorful and vibrant. Very pretty bar area. Friendly accommodating w service. Ordered the nachos, short rib enchiladas and grilled shrimp street tacos. Watermelon margarita was brought and refreshing. Nachos topped w generous servings of avocado and crema, chicken grilled v well. Tasty. Nice char on the shrimp in the tacos. Not stingy w the veg but pico wasn't v spicy. Short rib enchiladas dressed in a flavorful rojo sauce and the meat was tender and shredded. Pretty good.
[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place was such a hit for our group of 7 girls! We were in PS for a friends 40th birthday and wanted somewhere with fun vibes, great food, and awesome service. This place hit the bar on all three of those pillars.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We sat outside and a few of us ordered the margarita flight, while a few others ordered other cocktails. They were all really enjoyable and well balanced. We asked our server for his favorite thing on the menu and he suggested the steak plate and one other dish. The next person who came to our table also suggested the steak plate and ahi taco. 3-4 of us ended up ordering the steak plate, one ordered the quesabirria tacos. The elotes street corn was absolutely delicious. The sour cream on top just really sent it over the edge, the best I've ever had. Their flan was also exceptional. I'm not typically a fan of flan, but this one was really good. Top notch! Everyone absolutely loved their dish. The steak plate was absolutely wonderful. Steak was cooked to perfection, and the grilled onion was so good. The guacamole was flavorful, and it all went really nicely with the tortillas and other accoutrements. We had a great time and enjoyed amazing food. Highly, highly recommend. Pretty much all the girls agreed at the end of the weekend that this had been our favorite spot.
Tac/Quila has become our go-to first stop when we roll into Palm Springs. It's a great spot to get rejuvenated after sitting for two hours in a car. Four of us walked in and were warmly greeted by John and Zack behind the bar. Two Cadillac Margs, one Margarita Flight and for me, a locally brewed beer. Chips, salsa and guac for the table to share. Our friend loved her flight; her husband stole some sips also. Watermelon seemed to be the favorite. It made Becky wish that she had gotten the flight. The Caddies received high marks as well. My beer was ice cold and delicious. Excellent service from John and Zack. We're all looking very much forward to a return visit.
This ended up being our favorite meal of a four-night Palm Springs trip, and honestly, it wasn't particularly close. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The setting immediately puts you in a good mood.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We sat on the rear patio, the service was outstanding from start to finish, and every single thing we ordered delivered. The Beer Tempura Avocado Bites were unlike anything we've had before. Crispy outside, creamy inside, and incredibly addictive. The guacamole, salsa and chips may have ruined us for other Mexican restaurants. Everything tasted fresh and vibrant. The Grilled Lobster Tail Tacos were loaded with meat, not tiny little pieces hidden in toppings. You actually get full lobster tail flavor in every bite. My wife's Verde Enchiladas were outstanding too. Dessert sealed the deal. The Churro Ice Cream Sandwich was the best dessert we had the entire trip. Cocktails were equally impressive. Since I love cucumber, the Refrescado with blanco tequila, agave, lime juice and cucumber water was basically required ordering for me. They also prepare a delish Watermelon Margarita. Great food. Great energy. Great service. This is absolutely a place we'd return to on our next trip to Palm Springs.
Exceeded my expectations, food was extremely flavorful, light, filling, great experience overall. - jicama salad is a must try, extremely refreshing, great portion size, fresh - ceviche is to die for - tacos come with rice and beans. I'm just gonna say the lobster tacos oh my goodness first time and forever grateful for trying them so delicious so filling yes what a treat. Please try the lobster tacos.. avocado bites were great. The drinks were wonderful espresso, coffee martini chefs kiss the service was wonderful [[HIGHLIGHT]]the ambience beautiful definitely will be back when visiting Palm Springs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Almost forgot the cilantro rice was good lol.
Been here once before, I've been dreaming about that green rice since the last time I was here. Today, I got the verde enchiladas with the green rice and the ceviche as an appetizer. The ceviche was very good! Really fresh with a tiny bit of spice.. just perfect. We sat outside, it was shaded but with the Palm Springs heat, I'd recommend trying to get a spot inside if you don't like the heat like me. They had misters so it wasn't too too b This place got a 3 star tho just cause of the wait. Bro! The wait is just crazy... where there for an hour and all we had received by then was our appetizers.
Brought my daughter and niece for brunch during Coachella weekend 1. It was very busy, but I had made a reservation and was seated immediately. Everyone is so friendly! Our server was so attentive and helpful with suggestions. The ambience gorgeous. It was a little chilly out, so we decided to sit inside. They have a front patio and also back one. My niece had the margarita flight, and they were so delicious! I had a Chavela which I wasn't a fan of, but it was OK. The food was absolutely delicious! I love their rice. My daughter had the camarones à la diabla and they were so spicy! I had the shrimp tacos, which I feel were a little overcooked. My husband had the fajitas which were so good, but a kind of small portion. All in all a great experience!
The food here was so good! Elevated Mexican food but super tasty. I loved their guacamole and chips and the fries avocado appetizer. I got the shrimp tacos with a flour tortilla. The shrimp was plentiful and very flavorful. I loved the tacos. The rice was a bit bland though. Staff was super awesome! Ambiance was nice too.
April 2026 - Lunch Nice indoor/ outdoor seating Our server gave us a nice intro to drinks and the general menu The smoky salsa is legit :) Kids cheese quesadilla was rich Drinks menu was exhaustive with a lot of great options - I had the Mezcalita - muy bueno All the tacos hit the right spots ! And the rice on the side had a great taste - maybe refried or black beans would've been a better option ? Tres leches dessert was perfect for a group of 4 (size wise) Enjoyed our meal !
Lots of Yelp comments, so here's what I'll add. Our 4-top sat outside at street level. We enjoyed it very much, others may not, as it is a very busy street. You decide. Extensive drink and food options on the menu. The stuffed vegetable poblano is a special dish. The taquito app is nice too. We had a round of margs. They were tasty all around, I had a Cadillac, but the quantity was very small for $18. The inside seating area is very beautiful! Amy V was our server. She was excellent and knowledgeable of the menu. The bathrooms were super clean. Thanks for that. Reservations are a must.
Delicious bites and a very small wait without a reservation. The guac bites are delicious as was the main dish. The drinks were tasty but the garnish looks like they need a refresh. The service overall was good but we did have to ask for water and a few other items during dining that should have been taken care of prior. Also when the other guest in my party went to use the restroom they dropped something in kitchen hallway that spilled all over him. Didn't offer any type of compensation or adjustment for the spill on the lunch time outfitted was wearing.

Selected this place because they have vegan options. Was not let down at all. Jackfruit enchilada was amazing. The story inside the menu from the owners makes you stop and say wow I mad the right decision. The food, the ambience, service, all reasons to come again. Pablo was my server - great job. Wow! You have to go here! The food and drinks were amazing! For drinks, we tried the Capas de Misterio, Te Enamore and Tres Agaves. Favorite was the Te Enamore (Mezcal, whiskey and Tamarind). We started with the taco chips. These are not ordinary chips and salsa. Corn tacos with refried beans, deep-fried and served with three dips. For the entree, I had the short rib enchiladas. The enchilada sauce was some of the best I have had and the beef was super tender and flavorful. Our server, Karen, was the best. We sat outside in the shade. Perfect! Get a reservation early because they fill up fast. read more
The restaurant was very flexible and able to accommodate our large party when I called in to make same day reservations. To drink, I had the margarita flight--the prickly pear flavor was my favorite. I ordered the quesabirria and lobster tacos. The quesabirria was juicy and flavorful. I loved the side of rice. The lobster tacos with the orange sauce were amazing together! This was one of my favorite meals I had in Palm Springs. They gave generous portions of chips and salsa, and were nice to give us complimentary birthday dessert for our friend's birthday. read more

My go-to - Taco chips - corn tortilla chips stuffed with refried beans and three delicious salsas. A new try - Papaya jicama salad with watermelon vinaigrette Yum! So much ripe papaya, jicama sticks, and salad greens with a sweet-tangy watermelon vinaigrette. A new favorite! Prickly pear margarita and mezcalita were both refreshing and tasty. Popped in on a Wednesday evening to grab Margaritas and Chips and Salsa/Guacamole. We both ordered the Pineapple Passion Margarita which was very refreshing. The Chips with Salsa and Guacamole were delicious and perfect to pair with our drinks. Please note, the Chips and Salsa are NOT complimentary. The service was great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat outside in the front porch since the weather was very pleasant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server was very friendly and helpful. Overall, we were very pleased with the food and drinks, and will be happy to come back again! read more
A downtown staple, food and cocktails were really good. Both indoor and outdoor seating, ample menu and decent service. Crabcakes, shrimp tacos and chicken tortilla soup was enjoyed and honestly, I love a coconut tequila beverage. Restaurant was super clean and everything was super cute. If you're going to Tac/Quila, do yourself a favor and come hungry. The avocado tempura is dangerously good. It's crispy, creamy, and basically perfect especially if you dunk it in their spicy mango habanero salsa. I could've ordered three plates and called it dinner. For the main event, the grilled steak fajitas absolutely deliver. It's the kind of meal that makes everyone at neighboring tables ask, "Wait... what did THEY order?" And yes, the margarita flight is mandatory. Why choose one margarita when you can sample four and pretend it's "for research purposes"? Great food, fun atmosphere, and the perfect spot for tacos, tequila, and questionable decisions involving extra margaritas! read more

What went well? Everything! Lovely venue. Great food. Outstanding Service from Jayda. Got into Palm Springs and ready for lunch. Drove down the main drag of old Palm Spring and when we went by Tac Quila we said that's it. So obiviously, the curb side appeal snagged us. We weren't disappointed. With the beautiful weather we chose outside dining. They have a large area between the sidewalk that is very comfortable. We started with traditional margaritas on the rocks with an order of quacamole and chips. The quacamole was very good. The salsa was interesting in a good way. It was made from roasted red peppers. It had a wood smoke flavor. Really liked it. We both ordered shrimp street tacos and they were outstanding. They were delectable. Lovey experience. Prices $$$. read more
Hey... It's not everyday that you turn 42, but in October 2025, I did! And what better way to celebrate than with Tacos? But not just any tacos... I'm talkin' bout LOBSTER Tacos baby!!!! Wait until you see the pic!!!! But it wasn't the Lobster Tacos that made my night so special. It wasn't the fact that Tac/Quila is on the world renowned Michelin Guide recommended list of Restaurants to eat at. (No Michelin Stars, but still acknowledged by Michelin) It wasn't the vino or the Margarita flight. It wasn't even the melting Lava Cake with ice cream. It. Was. The. Company. Yeah, I might have turned 42, but that only means I am one year older, another year with more wisdom, experience and gratitude for the things that TRULY MATTER in life... Whom you choose to celebrate life's moments with in this thing called Life! Yes, for my birthday this year, I went to Palm Springs with my Amazing wife and our 3 beautiful children to celebrate my "Special Day". For my birthday, my wife booked a table at Tac/Quila which was just a short walk from our hotel. Upon our arrival, we were promptly seated at their outside patio table that lines N. Palm Canyon Drive. Fortunately, it's Palm Springs and the weather the 1st week of October was perfect! A glass of wine for me and a Margarita flight for the Mrs. Although the marg. flight was colorful and appeasing to the eyes... The sips I took from each one just weren't for me. I'm more of a classic margarita kinda guy and these were a little too much for my liking (one of them was too spicy to even enjoy). For our mains... I went the Lobster Tacos which get this... Is presented with a whole lobster tail (still in the shell) accompanied by 2 already dressed tortillas, a side of rice and a slaw. This was the highlight of the meal! My wife went with their verde green cheese enchiladas (her standard go to) and when I asked her last night before writing this review how they were, she said, "Enchilada like". Which translates to they tasted like verde enchiladas, but nothing to write home about. The kids shared some steak tacos which is my normal go to, but being that it was my birthday, I decided to get something special, hence the lobster tacos, which were FIRE! I tried a few pieces of steak from their tacos; it was flavored beautifully and had a nice char to it. (Check out the photo below for presentation). Of course, the word was out that it was my birthday so at the end of my meal, you know we had to have the melted lava cake with ice cream AND some Flan! Hey, YOLO baby! Not to mention you only turn 42 once! Service was good, the food presented showcased their creativity, innovation and a vibe that proves why Michelin put them on the list! Beautiful restaurant, beautiful plates, beautiful drinks. Unfortunately I can't say that about the service. Our server was kind but the hostess had an attitude, didn't even acknowledge us when we got to the podium. The nachos were pretty good and I really enjoyed the drink, but the Chile poblano isn't anything to rave home about. Based on my experience the food is decently good but not worth the price. read more
Tac/Quila was hands down our favorite meal so far in Palm Springs. The outdoor seating area is exactly what you want in this part of town--beautiful, relaxed, and with heaters readily available when the temperature drops. Service was warm, friendly, and attentive from start to finish. Bonus points for having a great non-alcoholic beer option for my husband (the Pilsner was a win). I started with the white fish ceviche. The portion was huge and it came with a generous amount of chips. While it was very tasty, it leaned a bit heavier on the lime than I prefer and could've used a touch more sweetness for balance--so I probably wouldn't order it again, but still glad I tried it. My husband ordered the short rib tacos and WOW. These were to die for--and that's coming from someone who isn't usually a short rib fan. Packed with tender, flavorful meat, served with three generous sides: beans, garlic rice, and an absolutely delicious short-rib-filled sauce for dipping. The deep-fried flour tortillas held everything together perfectly and added amazing texture. We finished with the churro ice cream sandwich, which was the perfect ending. It came with whipped cream and strawberries on the side--simple, indulgent, and delicious. Prices were fabulous, we were completely stuffed, and everything felt like great value. Plenty of street parking available, plus a parking lot in the back. Bathrooms were clean and beautifully decorated. Michelin recognized for a reason--we'll definitely be back. read more
Great spot to enjoy a Michelin lunch in downtown Palm Springs. Walked right in on a Sunday afternoon. Love the vibrant, modern, eclectic interior design. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside dining area is small but there's lots of seating outside with umbrellas.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Glad we got a booth inside because it was over 100 degrees! We ordered the taco chips for appetizers. We were expecting regular chips and salsa but the mini tacos were a nice surprise. All the salsas were winners. Everyone enjoyed their street tacos and enchiladas. The fried sole was cooked perfectly -- light and crispy. The barria tacos had a rich, savory sauce. The short rib was delicious and tender. Surprisingly, the verde rice is what really stood out -- soft, fluffy and great authentic flavor. Service was very prompt, friendly, and patient with us as we tried to decide what to order. We ordered the beer tempura avocado, grilled shrimp tacos, steak fajitas, a margarita flight, and the churro ice cream sandwich. Honestly, this was way too much food for me and my mom, but no regrets. The standout by far was the beer tempura avocado. I highly recommend it. I've never had anything like it. The outside was perfectly crispy, the inside was soft and fresh avocado, and the dipping sauce tied it all together. I'd come back just for that. The churro ice cream sandwich was also a win. Super crispy churro with ice cream in the middle, simple and very satisfying. Everything we had was solid, but if you're ordering strategically, don't skip the tempura avocado. Place was busy and lively. Came here for dinner and had to wait about 40-50mins or so. They have patio seating, as well as a separate area seating with heaters above - which was where we sat, it did start to get a little too hot with those heaters though but would be too chilly to sit outdoors. So my party and I stumbled upon this area after walking what felt like a century on Palm Springs. Well, we didn't stumble upon it-- it was actually on our itinerary of places to eat. FOOD: It was OK. We got the short ribs enchilada, tempura avocados, chips and guac, steak fajitas, Jamaica drink, & quesobirria. Chips and guac were way overpriced-- and their guac + salsa was... a choice. Tempura avocados were delicious, but can you ever go wrong with tempura avocados? The sauce for it was a keeper (I actually used it with my fajitas). The rest were OK, it wasn't super memorable but at least I'm not having food poisoning-- if that makes any sense. SERVICE: We got seated right away without a reservation on a Saturday afternoon (yayerz). Kudos to that. But good lord mother Teresa, it took what felt like 72 decades for us to get our main entrees. We literally ate all of our apps before the main entrees, it got to the point where only crumbs were left from our chips for us to receive our main entrees. Yes, CRUMBS! Also, I gave many confused stares to the workers, like a typical foodlicious asian, just to be like "hey where's our food?!" Eventually they did come (thank the lord). ATMOSPHERE: Very cute, I must say. There's even outdoor dinning too. But beware, there are cracks on the floor where things can get lost in those cracks. Our waitress even served some tea (not actual tea) when she dropped my credit card when I was paying. She told us that someone dropped their wedding ring down in the cracks and had to call the city to retrieve it. Now I'm not sure why or how she dropped it down there, maybe after getting down and dirty with the nachos after a one or two margitas? Anyways, the atmosphere here is chill. A decent place to catch up with friends-- definitely yapping more than eating cause the food here takes awhile. Tac/Quila has been consistently on the Michelin Bib Gourmand for a few years and am happy to report they are still delicious. Service was not the best this round. He seemed to be pretty pre occupied chatting with other staff members. While the other folks who drop off the food was more helpful. Make sure you order the avocado bites! This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in California! Each year we get to come to Palm Springs for work and we all know where dinner is going to be held on night one! The patio was so nice and the heaters were helpful! We enjoyed so much good food and laughter! These flavors are so delicious and authentic and creative to Mexican cuisine. There is typically a line when we arrive later at night, but it's worth whatever they say the wait is! We landed in Palm Springs and 30 minutes later we were seated outdoors Tac/Quila! Lulu was our sever and she started us off with a cocktail (shown) called a Soul sister! And then we have shrimp, tacos, fish tacos, and short rib enchiladas! They warned us as some of the dishes were a little spicy. We agreed that that was fine and I noticed people were asking for extra pico de gallo because it was so good! Tac/Quila comes highly recommended by the Yelp universe, so we had to check it out- especially since it's dog-friendly with a patio. We stopped by on a busy Saturday afternoon and were seated in the lively back patio, surrounded by other diners and plenty of pups. Service was a bit slow but friendly. I had my eye on a mocktail called the Matador, but they were mid-menu change and weren't serving it, so I took it as a sign from the universe to hydrate. We started with the street corn, which I really wanted to love. The corn itself was sweet and well cooked, but it was a little too oily and sauced-up to feel like classic street corn. Not bad, just busy - 3/5 stars. The fried fish tacos were the standout. The fish was lightly battered, flaky, and clearly a standout dish. That said, my husband's tacos showed up with noticeably larger pieces of fish than mine. His looked like full fillets, mine like the fun-size version. The handmade flour tortillas were tasty but unfortunately cold, though the fresh avocado salsa helped pull everything together. Bonus points for the dog-friendly patio, our pups were immediately offered water (even if they acted too fancy to drink it). We tried Tac/Quila on a Saturday afternoon. There was about a 30 minute wait time for inside so we opted for the patio seating that has a few fans going. The fans didn't help much so would recommend a reservation for inside if you don't do well with the heat. The service was friendly and quick and the food was delicious. What oils are used to cook with? Any seed oils, specifically for the vegan dishes?
I do not know about seed oil use however I do know that we were able to avoid soy in any form and gluten free was easy. As far as oils go,we ask everytime we go to any restaurant due to constant changes in the supply chain.
How much gluten free options are there? What about cross contamination? Sauces and salsa and seasonings for the meat are gluten free?
There are a lot of gluten free options. It’s too much to go over in a message. Our staff is well trained in this area. The most important thing is to advise your server and ask them to involve management to ensure a safe experience.
Do you accept contactless payment?
We have chip readers but you do need to sign a screen to confirm payment.
Do you have kids meals? Tried to call but no one answered.
Hello there! Joe is correct. We have meals that are suitable for kids (ie quesadillas), but there is no specific kids menu.
Is it pet friendly?
If you request a table on the patio, as I have seen pets there that were very well behaved. Palm Springs is a huge pet community.

Is a party of 7 allowed at one table together?
I would call ahead, but I believe 6 is the max and the entire party has to be present to be seated. Also, Tac/Quila does enforce mask wearing. In fact, anytime your server or restaurant staff comes to your table, everyone has to put their masks on.
