Popped in on a Wednesday evening to grab Margaritas and Chips and Salsa/Guacamole. We both ordered the Pineapple Passion Margarita which was very refreshing. The Chips with Salsa and Guacamole were delicious and perfect to pair with our drinks. Please note, the Chips and Salsa are NOT complimentary. The service was great. We sat outside in the front porch since the weather was very pleasant. Our server was very friendly and helpful. Overall, we were very pleased with the food and drinks, and will be happy to come back again! read more

This ended up being our favorite meal of a four-night Palm Springs trip, and honestly, it wasn't particularly close. The setting immediately puts you in a good mood. We sat on the rear patio, the service was outstanding from start to finish, and every single thing we ordered delivered. The Beer Tempura Avocado Bites were unlike anything we've had before. Crispy outside, creamy inside, and incredibly addictive. The guacamole, salsa and chips may have ruined us for other Mexican restaurants. Everything tasted fresh and vibrant. The Grilled Lobster Tail Tacos were loaded with meat, not tiny little pieces hidden in toppings. You actually get full lobster tail flavor in every bite. My wife's Verde Enchiladas were outstanding too. Dessert sealed the deal. The Churro Ice Cream Sandwich was the best dessert we had the entire trip. Cocktails were equally impressive. Since I love cucumber, the Refrescado with blanco tequila, agave, lime juice and cucumber water was basically required ordering for me. They also prepare a delish Watermelon Margarita. Great food. Wedding weekend in Palms Springs, and this is our first stop after dropping all our luggage off at the airport. Great spot!!! We came for the margarita flights, stayed for the food and service...and maybe for more drinks :). The drinks were sooo good! The margarita flight had 4 different flavors for $25. We also had Cadillac's, because when in Rome (in this case Palm Springs). The food: 1. Taco Nachos - these are been filled tacos that yoou can dip in guac and salsa. It was a great app to have when you're day drinking. 2. The birria tacos - this dish was super yummy and filling. The birria was seasoned very well. I love this cute spot. Very chic decor. Tac/Quila has become our go-to first stop when we roll into Palm Springs. It's a great spot to get rejuvenated after sitting for two hours in a car. Four of us walked in and were warmly greeted by John and Zack behind the bar. Two Cadillac Margs, one Margarita Flight and for me, a locally brewed beer. Chips, salsa and guac for the table to share. Our friend loved her flight; her husband stole some sips also. Watermelon seemed to be the favorite. It made Becky wish that she had gotten the flight. The Caddies received high marks as well. Delicious bites and a very small wait without a reservation. The guac bites are delicious as was the main dish. The drinks were tasty but the garnish looks like they need a refresh. The service overall was good but we did have to ask for water and a few other items during dining that should have been taken care of prior. Also when the other guest in my party went to use the restroom they dropped something in kitchen hallway that spilled all over him. Been here once before, I've been dreaming about that green rice since the last time I was here. Today, I got the verde enchiladas with the green rice and the ceviche as an appetizer. The ceviche was very good! Really fresh with a tiny bit of spice.. just perfect. We sat outside, it was shaded but with the Palm Springs heat, I'd recommend trying to get a spot inside if you don't like the heat like me. Brought my daughter and niece for brunch during Coachella weekend 1. It was very busy, but I had made a reservation and was seated immediately. Everyone is so friendly! Our server was so attentive and helpful with suggestions. The ambience gorgeous. It was a little chilly out, so we decided to sit inside. They have a front patio and also back one. My niece had the margarita flight, and they were so delicious! I had a Chavela which I wasn't a fan of, but it was OK. The food was absolutely delicious! I love their rice. My daughter had the camarones à la diabla and they were so spicy! I had the shrimp tacos, which I feel were a little overcooked. It's crispy, creamy, and basically perfect especially if you dunk it in their spicy mango habanero salsa. I could've ordered three plates and called it dinner. With the beautiful weather we chose outside dining. They have a large area between the sidewalk that is very comfortable. Tac/Quila was hands down our favorite meal so far in Palm Springs. The outdoor seating area is exactly what you want in this part of town--beautiful, relaxed, and with heaters readily available when the temperature drops. Service was warm, friendly, and attentive from start to finish. Bonus points for having a great non-alcoholic beer option for my husband (the Pilsner was a win). I started with the white fish ceviche. The portion was huge and it came with a generous amount of chips. While it was very tasty, it leaned a bit heavier on the lime than I prefer and could've used a touch more sweetness for balance--so I probably wouldn't order it again, but still glad I tried it. My husband ordered the short rib tacos and WOW. These were to die for--and that's coming from someone who isn't usually a short rib fan. Packed with tender, flavorful meat, served with three generous sides: beans, garlic rice, and an absolutely delicious short-rib-filled sauce for dipping. The deep-fried flour tortillas held everything together perfectly and added amazing texture. We finished with the churro ice cream sandwich, which was the perfect ending. It came with whipped cream and strawberries on the side--simple, indulgent, and delicious. Prices were fabulous, we were completely stuffed, and everything felt like great value. They have patio seating, as well as a separate area seating with heaters above - which was where we sat, it did start to get a little too hot with those heaters though but would be too chilly to sit outdoors. Hey... It's not everyday that you turn 42, but in October 2025, I did! And what better way to celebrate than with Tacos? But not just any tacos... I'm talkin' bout LOBSTER Tacos baby!!!! It wasn't the fact that Tac/Quila is on the world renowned Michelin Guide recommended list of Restaurants to eat at. (No Michelin Stars, but still acknowledged by Michelin) It wasn't the vino or the Margarita flight. It wasn't even the melting Lava Cake with ice cream. It. Was. The. Company. Yeah, I might have turned 42, but that only means I am one year older, another year with more wisdom, experience and gratitude for the things that TRULY MATTER in life... Whom you choose to celebrate life's moments with in this thing called Life! Yes, for my birthday this year, I went to Palm Springs with my Amazing wife and our 3 beautiful children to celebrate my "Special Day". For my birthday, my wife booked a table at Tac/Quila which was just a short walk from our hotel. Upon our arrival, we were promptly seated at their outside patio table that lines N. Palm Canyon Drive. Fortunately, it's Palm Springs and the weather the 1st week of October was perfect! A glass of wine for me and a Margarita flight for the Mrs. Although the marg. flight was colorful and appeasing to the eyes... The sips I took from each one just weren't for me. I'm more of a classic margarita kinda guy and these were a little too much for my liking (one of them was too spicy to even enjoy). For our mains... I went the Lobster Tacos which get this... Is presented with a whole lobster tail (still in the shell) accompanied by 2 already dressed tortillas, a side of rice and a slaw. This was the highlight of the meal! My wife went with their verde green cheese enchiladas (her standard go to) and when I asked her last night before writing this review how they were, she said, "Enchilada like". Which translates to they tasted like verde enchiladas, but nothing to write home about. The kids shared some steak tacos which is my normal go to, but being that it was my birthday, I decided to get something special, hence the lobster tacos, which were FIRE! I tried a few pieces of steak from their tacos; it was flavored beautifully and had a nice char to it. (Check out the photo below for presentation). Of course, the word was out that it was my birthday so at the end of my meal, you know we had to have the melted lava cake with ice cream AND some Flan! Hey, YOLO baby! We ordered the beer tempura avocado, grilled shrimp tacos, steak fajitas, a margarita flight, and the churro ice cream sandwich. Honestly, this was way too much food for me and my mom, but no regrets. The standout by far was the beer tempura avocado. I highly recommend it. I've never had anything like it. The outside was perfectly crispy, the inside was soft and fresh avocado, and the dipping sauce tied it all together. I'd come back just for that. The churro ice cream sandwich was also a win. Super crispy churro with ice cream in the middle, simple and very satisfying. Everything we had was solid, but if you're ordering strategically, don't skip the tempura avocado. We were in Palm Springs for a short break and managed to grab lunch at Tac/Quila. It's a lovely, upscale fusion Mexican restaurant, and it honestly ended up being one of the best spots we tried during our entire trip. The food and drinks were absolutely incredible: Oysters on the Half Shell: We started with these, and they came topped with shrimp and a special sauce. Excellent! Beer Tempura Avocado Bites: Okay, I'm actually someone who isn't usually fond of avocados, but this dish was delicious! Definitely give it a try. Grilled Lobster Tacos: These were excellent and so flavorful. They do not skimp here--the tortillas were filled to the brim with lobster! Carne Asada: This was well executed and delicious. Compared to the other unique dishes we tried, it didn't surprise us quite as much, but it was still really well done. Drinks: We tried their Margarita flight and a Paloma--all excellent! Service during lunch was efficient, generally helpful but not the warmest. We enjoyed the meal so much that we actually wanted to cancel our dinner plans for another restaurant that night and come back here. Unfortunately, when we tried to book, we were told all the reservation slots for dinner were taken up. Weirdly, they mentioned we could just walk in and should be able to get a table immediately since it was a weekday. It felt a little strange that they wouldn't let us secure a formal booking when they clearly anticipated having tables available. I guess policies take precedence over securing a guaranteed reservation! Because of that, we ended up going back to our original reservation to try a different restaurant instead. read more

The environment is inviting even in the summer its nice and cool even with the open indoor outdoor concept. Staff is on it with taking care of all needs. So my party and I stumbled upon this area after walking what felt like a century on Palm Springs. Well, we didn't stumble upon it-- it was actually on our itinerary of places to eat. FOOD: It was OK. We got the short ribs enchilada, tempura avocados, chips and guac, steak fajitas, Jamaica drink, & quesobirria. Chips and guac were way overpriced-- and their guac + salsa was... a choice. Tempura avocados were delicious, but can you ever go wrong with tempura avocados? The sauce for it was a keeper (I actually used it with my fajitas). The rest were OK, it wasn't super memorable but at least I'm not having food poisoning-- if that makes any sense. SERVICE: We got seated right away without a reservation on a Saturday afternoon (yayerz). Kudos to that. But good lord mother Teresa, it took what felt like 72 decades for us to get our main entrees. We literally ate all of our apps before the main entrees, it got to the point where only crumbs were left from our chips for us to receive our main entrees. Yes, CRUMBS! Also, I gave many confused stares to the workers, like a typical foodlicious asian, just to be like "hey where's our food?!" Eventually they did come (thank the lord). ATMOSPHERE: Very cute, I must say. There's even outdoor dinning too. But beware, there are cracks on the floor where things can get lost in those cracks. Our waitress even served some tea (not actual tea) when she dropped my credit card when I was paying. She told us that someone dropped their wedding ring down in the cracks and had to call the city to retrieve it. Now I'm not sure why or how she dropped it down there, maybe after getting down and dirty with the nachos after a one or two margitas? Anyways, the atmosphere here is chill. A decent place to catch up with friends-- definitely yapping more than eating cause the food here takes awhile. This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in California! Each year we get to come to Palm Springs for work and we all know where dinner is going to be held on night one! The patio was so nice and the heaters were helpful! We enjoyed so much good food and laughter! These flavors are so delicious and authentic and creative to Mexican cuisine. There is typically a line when we arrive later at night, but it's worth whatever they say the wait is! Tac/Quila comes highly recommended by the Yelp universe, so we had to check it out- especially since it's dog-friendly with a patio. We stopped by on a busy Saturday afternoon and were seated in the lively back patio, surrounded by other diners and plenty of pups. Service was a bit slow but friendly. I had my eye on a mocktail called the Matador, but they were mid-menu change and weren't serving it, so I took it as a sign from the universe to hydrate. We started with the street corn, which I really wanted to love. The corn itself was sweet and well cooked, but it was a little too oily and sauced-up to feel like classic street corn. Not bad, just busy - 3/5 stars. The fried fish tacos were the standout. The fish was lightly battered, flaky, and clearly a standout dish. That said, my husband's tacos showed up with noticeably larger pieces of fish than mine. His looked like full fillets, mine like the fun-size version. The handmade flour tortillas were tasty but unfortunately cold, though the fresh avocado salsa helped pull everything together. Bonus points for the dog-friendly patio, our pups were immediately offered water (even if they acted too fancy to drink it).
