Exceeded my expectations, food was extremely flavorful, light, filling, great experience overall. - jicama salad is a must try, extremely refreshing, great portion size, fresh - ceviche is to die for - tacos come with rice and beans. The rice was like chicken rice, extremely flavorful - service 5/5 - environment and ambiance is the best. Super lively and vibrant, great outdoor seating

Delicious bites and a very small wait without a reservation. The guac bites are delicious as was the main dish. The drinks were tasty but the garnish looks like they need a refresh. The service overall was good but we did have to ask for water and a few other items during dining that should have been taken care of prior. Also when the other guest in my party went to use the restroom they dropped something in kitchen hallway that spilled all over him. Didn't offer any type of compensation or adjustment for the spill on the lunch time outfitted was wearing.

Been here once before, I've been dreaming about that green rice since the last time I was here. Today, I got the verde enchiladas with the green rice and the ceviche as an appetizer. The ceviche was very good! Really fresh with a tiny bit of spice.. just perfect. We sat outside, it was shaded but with the Palm Springs heat, I'd recommend trying to get a spot inside if you don't like the heat like me. They had misters so it wasn't too too b This place got a 3 star tho just cause of the wait. Bro! The wait is just crazy... where there for an hour and all we had received by then was our appetizers.

Brought my daughter and niece for brunch during Coachella weekend 1. It was very busy, but I had made a reservation and was seated immediately. Everyone is so friendly! Our server was so attentive and helpful with suggestions. The ambience gorgeous. It was a little chilly out, so we decided to sit inside. They have a front patio and also back one. My niece had the margarita flight, and they were so delicious! I had a Chavela which I wasn't a fan of, but it was OK. The food was absolutely delicious! I love their rice. My daughter had the camarones à la diabla and they were so spicy! I had the shrimp tacos, which I feel were a little overcooked. My husband had the fajitas which were so good, but a kind of small portion. All in all a great experience!

The food here was so good! Elevated Mexican food but super tasty. I loved their guacamole and chips and the fries avocado appetizer. I got the shrimp tacos with a flour tortilla. The shrimp was plentiful and very flavorful. I loved the tacos. The rice was a bit bland though. Staff was super awesome! Ambiance was nice too.

April 2026 - Lunch Nice indoor/ outdoor seating Our server gave us a nice intro to drinks and the general menu The smoky salsa is legit :) Kids cheese quesadilla was rich Drinks menu was exhaustive with a lot of great options - I had the Mezcalita - muy bueno All the tacos hit the right spots ! And the rice on the side had a great taste - maybe refried or black beans would've been a better option ? Tres leches dessert was perfect for a group of 4 (size wise) Enjoyed our meal !

    Hello B.

My go-to - Taco chips - corn tortilla chips stuffed with refried beans and three delicious salsas. A new try - Papaya jicama salad with watermelon vinaigrette Yum! So much ripe papaya, jicama sticks, and salad greens with a sweet-tangy watermelon vinaigrette. A new favorite! Prickly pear margarita and mezcalita were both refreshing and tasty. Service, as always, attentive and friendly but not intrusive. Thanks, David. Tac/Quila is a must visit each time I'm in PSP.

If you're going to Tac/Quila, do yourself a favor and come hungry. The avocado tempura is dangerously good. It's crispy, creamy, and basically perfect especially if you dunk it in their spicy mango habanero salsa. I could've ordered three plates and called it dinner. For the main event, the grilled steak fajitas absolutely deliver. It's the kind of meal that makes everyone at neighboring tables ask, "Wait... what did THEY order?" And yes, the margarita flight is mandatory. Why choose one margarita when you can sample four and pretend it's "for research purposes"? Great food, fun atmosphere, and the perfect spot for tacos, tequila, and questionable decisions involving extra margaritas!

Lots of Yelp comments, so here's what I'll add. Our 4-top sat outside at street level. We enjoyed it very much, others may not, as it is a very busy street. You decide. Extensive drink and food options on the menu. The stuffed vegetable poblano is a special dish. The taquito app is nice too. We had a round of margs. They were tasty all around, I had a Cadillac, but the quantity was very small for $18. The inside seating area is very beautiful! Amy V was our server. She was excellent and knowledgeable of the menu. The bathrooms were super clean. Thanks for that. Reservations are a must.

I enjoyed my dinner here! Solo trip for my bday and it was just the right chill, but still active vibe. The quesabirria tacos made my mouth water. My food came out fast as heck i was surprised cuz it was a full house. Waiters were attentive and accommodating. Would recommend and come back.

Wow! You have to go here! The food and drinks were amazing! For drinks, we tried the Capas de Misterio, Te Enamore and Tres Agaves. Favorite was the Te Enamore (Mezcal, whiskey and Tamarind). We started with the taco chips. These are not ordinary chips and salsa. Corn tacos with refried beans, deep-fried and served with three dips. For the entree, I had the short rib enchiladas. The enchilada sauce was some of the best I have had and the beef was super tender and flavorful. Our server, Karen, was the best. We sat outside in the shade. Perfect! Get a reservation early because they fill up fast.

A downtown staple, food and cocktails were really good. Both indoor and outdoor seating, ample menu and decent service. Crabcakes, shrimp tacos and chicken tortilla soup was enjoyed and honestly, I love a coconut tequila beverage. Restaurant was super clean and everything was super cute. Would absolutely come again!

What went well? Everything! Lovely venue. Great food. Outstanding Service from Jayda. Got into Palm Springs and ready for lunch. Drove down the main drag of old Palm Spring and when we went by Tac Quila we said that's it. So obiviously, the curb side appeal snagged us. We weren't disappointed. With the beautiful weather we chose outside dining. They have a large area between the sidewalk that is very comfortable. We started with traditional margaritas on the rocks with an order of quacamole and chips. The quacamole was very good. The salsa was interesting in a good way. It was made from roasted red peppers. It had a wood smoke flavor. Really liked it. We both ordered shrimp street tacos and they were outstanding. They were delectable. Lovey experience. Prices $$$.

    Ask the Community - Tac/Quila

    Do you take reservations?

Yes. Check us out on Open Table

    Is it casual dress?

    Yes

What oils are used to cook with? Any seed oils, specifically for the vegan dishes?

I do not know about seed oil use however I do know that we were able to avoid soy in any form and gluten free was easy. As far as oils go,we ask everytime we go to any restaurant due to constant changes in the supply chain.

How much gluten free options are there? What about cross contamination? Sauces and salsa and seasonings for the meat are gluten free?

There are a lot of gluten free options. It’s too much to go over in a message. Our staff is well trained in this area. The most important thing is to advise your server and ask them to involve management to ensure a safe experience.

    Do you accept contactless payment?

We have chip readers but you do need to sign a screen to confirm payment.

Do you have kids meals? Tried to call but no one answered.

Hello there! Joe is correct. We have meals that are suitable for kids (ie quesadillas), but there is no specific kids menu.

    Do you have gluten-free options?

Yes, just ask your server for guidance!

    Is it pet friendly?

If you request a table on the patio, as I have seen pets there that were very well behaved. Palm Springs is a huge pet community.

Where is your parking ? coming from out of town thanks

Off street parking is where I parked.

    What are your operating hours?

    11.00 am - 10.00 pm

Can we do a reservation for 9 people?

A few months in advance for reservations or get there early and put your name on the list. We went about 5 and waited about an hour for a party of 8.

Is it ok to bring a well-behaved toddler here? Do they have high chairs?

Yes it's great for families and yes they have high chairs. They have a really nice patio area with heaters as well. And great food! Enjoy!

    Are staff currently wearing masks?

    Yes.

Would they take a reservation for 10? Coming from out of town, not sure what the covid restrictions are. Thank you in advance :)

How much is a margarita flight?

I had it (again) Monday. It's $21 and worth it, in my opinion. Full margarita is $14, but you have to choose only one flavor.

How can I make a reservation?

Call them-but weekends are tough. They hold a good # of tables for walk-ins, which they'll tell you when you call. Went there last night - 3/20/21 (Sat night) & planned it perfectly. At 5:40p, we put our names in for a table for 3 people, hoping to… Read more

Ok to bring a small dog for outdoor seating?

Yes of course! We love our pups!

Do you take walk-ins or are you reservation only?

Does this restaurant charge a cork fee if we bring our wine?

Yes, we charge a $20 corkage per bottle. We look forward to serving you!

Is a party of 7 allowed at one table together?

I would call ahead, but I believe 6 is the max and the entire party has to be present to be seated. Also, Tac/Quila does enforce mask wearing. In fact, anytime your server or restaurant staff comes to your table, everyone has to put their masks on.

Palm Springs has a night market that happens Thursday night from 6-10 where it brings out people. Food vendors, arts and crafts, gifts and so on. A nice family outing on the main strip. Also all the storefronts are open as well. The thing with something like that, you tend to stand or find a seat along the curb to sit with your food. Hence we finally walked into this restaurant. It was pretty busy when we walked in but at the right time. Got seated right away as there was only two tables available. By the time we were seated, the line was pretty long. It's just off the main strip. Pretty decent size patio which seems to be where everyone was utilizing it as it was nice out. There's a bar area with seating as well as indoor, a smaller room. Service was nice. Water and menu was brought out first then came the chips and salsas. Quite tasty but can be filling if you can't control yourself. Started off with their classic margaritas and the spicy margaritas. There's a few dollars difference from classic to spicy. They weren't that bad. Menu wise, a mixture of all your Mexican dishes. We didn't have any starters as we just wanted the mains. The carne asada plate which came with both rice and beans. I opted for only rice. Thin skirt steak with chorizo, grilled jalapeño and onion, flour or corn tortillas and salsa. And the chicken enchiladas verde with the green sauce. The food was quite tasty. Carne asada plate was pretty plentiful. Nice skirt steak with a nice piece of chorizo. Both were quite tasty and flavorful. Steak was decent and cooked well. Not overly done. Then you have the enchiladas. It's decent in size but not too big. It's good if you're not too hungry. The sauce was great and was a perfect pair to the dish. As it was our first time, it was great. All these place that's been there but you walk by loads of time. Sometimes you just have to try new places out and see what comes of it. Maybe it's a hit. Both my husband and I ordered shrimp tacos. I don't eat meat, so I always choose fish or shrimp as alternatives. The first two tacos I received (fish and shrimp) actually had beef in them. I sent them back and clearly explained that I do not eat meat. I then reordered shrimp tacos and specifically told the waitress again about my dietary restriction. Unfortunately, the second batch came with bacon. While yes, I could have read every ingredient more carefully, I would expect the staff to be more attentive and helpful--especially after I had already sent food back for the same issue. Instead, the waitress lectured me about not reading the menu, which felt inappropriate and unprofessional. On top of that, the tacos themselves were not good--overloaded with random ingredients and not at all enjoyable, especially for $23. I left feeling unwell and very dissatisfied. The strangest part of the experience was the hostess at the front. She appeared completely disengaged, staring off into the distance. I tried multiple times to get her attention for something as simple as a napkin or the check, waving while she was looking in my direction, but she didn't respond at all. Overall, poor service, lack of attention to dietary needs, and disappointing food. I wouldn't return.

Our server, Rene, was an absolute joy! He promptly brought us waters, beverages, and the some of the best fajitas EVER. In the time it took for us to walk in and out of Melvyn's, we already had everything--water, drinks, and food. Good thing too, because we were hungry! I can't say enough good things about Sancho's. They are a small business, and the hotel doesn't own them, so I'm sure they've weathered a lot with the loss of foreign tourism and tariffs. The only positive is the decor,it's nice and has a cool Polynesian/mid-century vibe. That's where anything good ends. The service was terrible. We asked about specials as first-time customers, and our waitress conveniently failed to mention the Taco Tuesday deal. Instead, she rushed us to order. We later realized we ordered multiple taco plates that should have qualified for the special, but she never said a word. The food was even worse. I ordered fajitas, and what I was served was completely unacceptable,no vegetables, no resemblance to fajitas, just chopped chicken covered in chorizo and tomato sauce. It was disgusting. I took one bite and couldn't eat it. I planned to send it back, but the waitress disappeared and never came back to the table. I was stuck with it and only ate the sides, which tasted like reheated frozen vegetables and a small cup of beans. Despite barely touching the food and not receiving what I ordered, I was still charged as if everything was fine, about $22 for a plate I couldn't eat. When I finally addressed it, she insisted it was "fajitas," which is honestly ridiculous. To top it off, when my husband asked for a box, the waitress came back after handling cash and used her bare hands, with long acrylic nails,to grab his taco and put it in the container. That is completely unsanitary and unacceptable. Bad service, disgusting food, and poor hygiene. I will not be returning and will be reporting this place to the health department. Avoid this place.
