Delicious Mexican food!! I totally understand why it is on the Michelin guide. The restaurant itself is a decent size with both indoor and outdoor seating, but I would def recommend getting indoor just because it is so hot. We got seated almost immediately and our server was super attentive and answered all of our questions about the menu. As for the food, all of the seafood was super fresh and the ceviche was so refreshing on such a hot day. The tacos were also very flavorful, with the shrimp one being our favorite. They did not skimp on the protein and vegetables in the short rib enchilada and posole either. All in all, I would highkey recommend this restaurant if you're in the area! read more

Honestly, I was pretty disappointed with this place, especially since it has a Michelin rating. Almost everything we ordered was just mediocre. The only thing actually worth eating was the shrimp dish my cousin got. On the bright side, our waitress was awesome--she was super friendly and had a smile on her face the whole time. The service, though, was really weird. At one point, a server dropped a plate of chips and guac right in front of my cousin. She thought it was ours, so she dipped a chip in, only for him to tell her it wasn't for us. Even after she'd already touched it, he told her to keep the chip and then just walked the plate over to another table. It was honestly pretty gross to watch him serve that to someone else. Stopped by Tac/Quila just for cocktails and... yeah, they understood the assignment. The drinks were AMAZING and honestly enough to make me want to come back. The atmosphere is definitely lively and busy, but it still has a classy, upscale feel to it. This is the kind of place where you can actually get dressed up a little, grab some cocktails, and make a date night out of it. It would also be a great spot to start the night with friends. I didn't get a chance to try the food this time, so I can't speak on that yet--but judging by the drinks and the overall vibe, there will absolutely be a round two. We were in Palm Springs for a couple of days, and one of the nights we wanted Mexican for dinner. We found Tac/Quila on Yelp, and decided to give it a try. We didn't have a reservation, so we waited until about 8:00 to go and while it was busy, we were able to sit at the bar right away. We were greeted by the friendly bartenders, and provided menus and water immediately. I can only remember one of their names, Isaiah, but both were awesome! The atmosphere was lively, but we were able to hold a conversation in our normal speaking voices. The decor of the restaurant was nice too. The star of the show was the food and drink though! We each ordered a margarita flight, and I started with a pork tamale as an appetizer. For our meals I ordered the short rib enchiladas, and my friend ordered the verde enchiladas. We were both thoroughly satisfied! If you are ever in Palm Springs, Tac/Quila is the place to go for Mexican food! This place was such a hit for our group of 7 girls! We were in PS for a friends 40th birthday and wanted somewhere with fun vibes, great food, and awesome service. This place hit the bar on all three of those pillars. We sat outside and a few of us ordered the margarita flight, while a few others ordered other cocktails. They were all really enjoyable and well balanced. We asked our server for his favorite thing on the menu and he suggested the steak plate and one other dish. The next person who came to our table also suggested the steak plate and ahi taco. 3-4 of us ended up ordering the steak plate, one ordered the quesabirria tacos. The elotes street corn was absolutely delicious. The sour cream on top just really sent it over the edge, the best I've ever had. Their flan was also exceptional. I'm not typically a fan of flan, but this one was really good. Top notch! Everyone absolutely loved their dish. The steak plate was absolutely wonderful. Steak was cooked to perfection, and the grilled onion was so good. The guacamole was flavorful, and it all went really nicely with the tortillas and other accoutrements. Tac/Quila has become our go-to first stop when we roll into Palm Springs. It's a great spot to get rejuvenated after sitting for two hours in a car. Four of us walked in and were warmly greeted by John and Zack behind the bar. Two Cadillac Margs, one Margarita Flight and for me, a locally brewed beer. Chips, salsa and guac for the table to share. Our friend loved her flight; her husband stole some sips also. Watermelon seemed to be the favorite. It made Becky wish that she had gotten the flight. The Caddies received high marks as well. Wedding weekend in Palms Springs, and this is our first stop after dropping all our luggage off at the airport. Great spot!!! This ended up being our favorite meal of a four-night Palm Springs trip, and honestly, it wasn't particularly close. The setting immediately puts you in a good mood. We sat on the rear patio, the service was outstanding from start to finish, and every single thing we ordered delivered. The Beer Tempura Avocado Bites were unlike anything we've had before. Crispy outside, creamy inside, and incredibly addictive. The guacamole, salsa and chips may have ruined us for other Mexican restaurants. Everything tasted fresh and vibrant. The Grilled Lobster Tail Tacos were loaded with meat, not tiny little pieces hidden in toppings. You actually get full lobster tail flavor in every bite. My wife's Verde Enchiladas were outstanding too. Dessert sealed the deal. The Churro Ice Cream Sandwich was the best dessert we had the entire trip. Cocktails were equally impressive. Brought my daughter and niece for brunch during Coachella weekend 1. It was very busy, but I had made a reservation and was seated immediately. Everyone is so friendly! Extensive drink and food options on the menu. The stuffed vegetable poblano is a special dish. The taquito app is nice too. We had a round of margs. I rarely leave a 3-star review, but I want to start by saying the staff and food were genuinely amazing. This review is more about the maintenance and conditions of the parklet seating area. My friends and I visited on a Sunday evening around 6:30pm. It wasn't peak season and it was about 100°F outside. Since we didn't have reservations, we were told we could only be seated in the outdoor parklet area. Another group of six arrived shortly after us and was visibly upset about the same situation and ultimately left, but we decided to stay and give it a try. Unfortunately, the parklet itself felt unsafe. My heel got stuck between the floorboards and several sections of the flooring were lifted. I nearly fell but caught myself by landing on an empty chair. The staff were very kind and helped me remove my shoe, which I appreciated. However, the outdoor setup made the dining experience very uncomfortable. We were constantly dealing with flies around our food, and no fans or coverings were provided to help with the heat or food exposure. Additionally there was a piece of hair on my friend's nachos. It was difficult to enjoy the meal in those conditions. As for the food, we ordered nachos and a carne asada plate with drinks, and while the food itself was good, the environment made it hard to enjoy it fully. The bill came out to nearly $150, and given the conditions, it felt disappointing. I would strongly recommend management: * Address the unsafe and uneven parklet flooring * Improve outdoor dining comfort (fans, pest control, etc.) * Allow indoor seating when space is available, especially in extreme heat The staff and food were great, but the dining environment needs attention to match the price point and quality of the kitchen. read more

Wow! You have to go here! The food and drinks were amazing! For drinks, we tried the Capas de Misterio, Te Enamore and Tres Agaves. Favorite was the Te Enamore (Mezcal, whiskey and Tamarind). We started with the taco chips. These are not ordinary chips and salsa. Corn tacos with refried beans, deep-fried and served with three dips. For the entree, I had the short rib enchiladas. I'm more of a classic margarita kinda guy and these were a little too much for my liking (one of them was too spicy to even enjoy). For our mains... I went the Lobster Tacos which get this... Is presented with a whole lobster tail (still in the shell) accompanied by 2 already dressed tortillas, a side of rice and a slaw. This was the highlight of the meal! My wife went with their verde green cheese enchiladas (her standard go to) and when I asked her last night before writing this review how they were, she said, "Enchilada like". Which translates to they tasted like verde enchiladas, but nothing to write home about. The kids shared some steak tacos which is my normal go to, but being that it was my birthday, I decided to get something special, hence the lobster tacos, which were FIRE! I tried a few pieces of steak from their tacos; it was flavored beautifully and had a nice char to it. (Check out the photo below for presentation). Tac/Quila was hands down our favorite meal so far in Palm Springs. The outdoor seating area is exactly what you want in this part of town--beautiful, relaxed, and with heaters readily available when the temperature drops. Service was warm, friendly, and attentive from start to finish. Bonus points for having a great non-alcoholic beer option for my husband (the Pilsner was a win). I started with the white fish ceviche. The portion was huge and it came with a generous amount of chips. While it was very tasty, it leaned a bit heavier on the lime than I prefer and could've used a touch more sweetness for balance--so I probably wouldn't order it again, but still glad I tried it. My husband ordered the short rib tacos and WOW. These were to die for--and that's coming from someone who isn't usually a short rib fan. Packed with tender, flavorful meat, served with three generous sides: beans, garlic rice, and an absolutely delicious short-rib-filled sauce for dipping. The deep-fried flour tortillas held everything together perfectly and added amazing texture. We finished with the churro ice cream sandwich, which was the perfect ending. It came with whipped cream and strawberries on the side--simple, indulgent, and delicious. Prices were fabulous, we were completely stuffed, and everything felt like great value. Our waitress even served some tea (not actual tea) when she dropped my credit card when I was paying. She told us that someone dropped their wedding ring down in the cracks and had to call the city to retrieve it. Tac/Quila has been consistently on the Michelin Bib Gourmand for a few years and am happy to report they are still delicious. Service was not the best this round. He seemed to be pretty pre occupied chatting with other staff members. While the other folks who drop off the food was more helpful. Make sure you order the avocado bites!
