We were camping at Mistletoe State Park and opted to meet my aunt for Mexican. She suggested this place due to the ambiance. I don't put much expectations into random restaurants in small towns. And as most know, hole in the wall Mexican joints tend to be amazing anyways. This place didn't disappoint! The ambiance was great inside, and you totally forget you just parked your car in a barren parking lot in a small town once you walk in. The Texas Rita's we had were strong! And our service was great! The salsa that came with the chips was good, but not as spicy as I liked. Our meal, however, was perfect. The house verde salsa is awesome! And their street style chicken tacos looked & tasted amazing. Honestly, can't say one bad thing about this visit. We visited this restaurant today but never again. My wife ordered a burrito and according to the menu was suppose to have cheese sauce and it came with red sauce. I ordered 2 beef tacos with lettuce tomatoes cheese and sour cream. I was charged 9.50 for the tacos with added charges of tomatoes-1.00, sour cream .50 and cheese 1.00. Best Salsa I have had in a while ...Waitress was cheerful and sweet not overly attentive so that every time I took a bite she would be asking me if everything was ok. Oh how i seriously hate to do this because the wait staff was so nice and even conversed with my husband in Spanish... You see....we moved to the south from Arizona....especially Tucson Arizona....we are Mexican food connoisseurs....we know a good chimi....we know a good tamale....heck we know good carne asada and burros. This place made me hate Mexican food. Everything had a weird taste to it and was salty. Even though my mom put salt on everything she ate (shes a bit addicted to that flavor). You see, We have Mexican fare like it is going out of style with amazing colorful plates of fresh Mexican food made with love by some young guy in the kitchen. This is Arizona mind you....i have resigned to never look for Mexican food again outside of my very own kitchen and knowledge of cooking Mexican food. How amazing , the sign boasts upscale mexican , which is worded just above a drive through sign. Where to start was it the store bought chips, the slow service, the not sure if they had potatoes for my enchiladas.. it was none of those what really took a turn from 2 to 1 stars was the huge hair which came with my food. Don't go to this restaurant!!!! The management does NOT care about their customers enough to even mail a debit card they forgot to return! So, I was visiting Thomson GA for a GNCC motorcycle race 10 days ago. While I was there I went to El Kiosco restaurant with 4 other GNCC friends on Saturday night. The food was adequate, the service was adequate, and the cost was OK. I paid with my debit card (and left a 20% tip) but didn't leave the restaurant with the card. And yes, it was my fault for not making sure I had my card and I accept that responsibility. But...we were actually in the parking lot talking for at least 10-15 minutes. The cashier would have certainly discovered they didn't give me my card back and maybe they could have come outside to look for me. They didn't which is fine. I get they were busy. So, when I returned home to NC on Sunday and realized I didn't have my debit card. I called my credit union and they told me the last place I used my debit card was at El Kiosco restaurant in Thomson, GA. I called El Kiosco and sure enough they do have the card. The person I talked with (a female) assured me they would send my card to me in the mail. I gave her my address (I had already put a hold on the card btw) and waited. Fast forward 10 days and NO CARD in the mail. So I call again and I believe the same female answers and hands me over to the manager. He is blatantly terse and somewhat rude. He made it obvious he didn't give a $4@% about helping me out. He said "Oh yea, we still have your address but he refused to send me my debit card. I told him I was a good customer who would have gone back to this restaurant but after he refusal to help me with my card I am posting here on Yelp to let everyone know just what kind of management is at this restaurant. So now I have canceled the card and will get a new card with a new number in the mail. It is a hassle but I have no choice. Why can't people in this world help each other instead of making others lives more difficult???? read more

Went to the bar. Took 10 minutes for the bartender to bother to ask if I wanted something to drink or a menu. I was just sitting there with the bartender in front of me. After he finally got my drink and menu, I waited another 20 minutes or so. Not the bartender nor anyone else hanging around the bar bothered to to my order. They didn't give a damn. They didn't care. Don't waste your time or money. Service is slow, food average at best. I ordered a pork chop dish, a small chop with vegetables in a Mexican sauce. It was decent tasting, but lukewarm and eating the chop was like chewing a flip-flop, very tough. Do yourself a favor, if want good Mexican food, go across the street to Habaneros Mexican Grill, that place had great food at a great price, the Pollo Jalisco and Camerones el Ranchera are the bomb! read more

The food is great! Always delicious and we have eaten here many times and not one problem with the food as of yet. My only complaint is there is one waiter who seems to be only there to hook up with patrons. My daughter is 17 and everytime we go there he flirts and winks and is just discusting. He is gross looking at that so it makes it much more creepy. This place is great. There is also and EL Kiosco in grovetown which is also wonderful. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody who wants great Mexican food. The prices aren't high and the food is delicious. It is a great family friendly environment and the karaoke on Saturdays is amazing. The service was also amazing. EL Kiosco definitely deserves five stars and the person down there who said they didn't get service for about ten minutes you actually have to wait behind the sign where it says " please wait to be seated." Just a thought you know be if you actually wait there and say you want to be seated at the bar then you will get service in less than 2 minutes. read more
