Took my uncle there for Father's Day. He is an amputee. Called the restaurant after we arrived, asking for help getting his wheelchair out of my truck. They hung up on me. The handicapped "ramp" was inaccessible since there was a car blocking it. Bathrooms are not accessible at all. Food: Uncle Jimmy asked for cheese dip that was never brought until I ordered it for him mid-meal. I ordered a small guacamole dip that had a texture suggesting it was puréed in a blender, or squeezed out a 5 pound bag ordered online. Service: Waitress was sitting at the bar playing on her phone. I had to wave her down to get a refill on our tea glasses. Won't be returning here. The food was plain nasty, everything was mushy and flavorless. The portions are so small, you leave still feeling hungry. You are better off spending the extra money and driving into town to the Habaneros in Grovetown. I came here three times after the first to give it "another try" and was highly disappointed. Waited a long time to get food, they need to hire more staff. There was only one waiter working on a busy Friday night. Not worth the time or money. read more

Service was so-so. Not rude, just not friendly. No "hello", "welcome", or "thank you". Chips tasted of old, dirty grease. Cheese dip was okay. Cheese enchilada, chicken burrito, taco, and rice were okay. Refried beans were terrible. Guacamole was decent after adding salt and pepper. Quesadilla Mexicana was okay. Sweet tea was good. They used some sort of scented cleaner to wipe the tables down and the smell was both unpleasant and overwhelming. Overall it was just not a good experience. read more

I was not expecting such a good Mexican option to be in the area! Habanero's nailed it though. They don't skimp on the chips and salsa, the queso is delicious, and the food came out hot and fresh. I always get great service from the wait staff at this restaurant. The one in Harlem is awesome!! The food is always wonderful! Not so good at the one in Grovetown though. The service and food at the one in Grovetown is Substandard to say the least. read more

Habanero's Mexican Grill was a 3 star meal for the family, I told my daughter and wife to the location in Grovetown. My wife and daughter liked their food but for me, my chicken was bland the chicken Chalupa was not all that. Hubs and I had a craving for Mexican. It has been hard pressed to find a restaurant that delivered quality food. I can happily say that Habanero's delivered! We were seated promptly and met our server quickly. Hot chips and salsa arrive within 2 minutes of us sitting down. The servers know their menu and recommend the house favorites as well as their own. Hubs Tacos Carnitas ($11.95). Amazing. The pork was juicy and tender. I sampled a bite before he ate it all and it was great solo as well as inside the taco. There was a grilled green onion on top that added a depth of flavor that I had not had before. The jalapeños were not super spicy, but grilled for light crunch and more depth of flavor. Lots of cilantro and white onion. The salsa verde was so good that hubs drank the remainder from the cup. He never does that. I had the Chicken Enchiladas Verdes ($8.00). It was good. The chicken was roughly pulled apart. It could be shredded a bit more for my taste. The chicken was tender for chicken breast. The salsa verde was also good on mine. I could have used just a bit more. I ate all the rice and beans. I never finish rice and beans. The beans were almost silky in texture. It was amazing and flavorful. The rice was traditional Mexican rice. Tot received the kids burrito and rice (sauce on the side) ($3.99). Kiddo ate her rice, but did not like her burrito. The beef filling was salty. The red sauce was mild and lightly flavored. Next time we'll just get kiddo rice a la carte and let her steal from our plates. All in all, it was a good and cheap meal. Came by here for a late night (9pm) bite to eat and a beer while watching the World Series after being told the place next door's, End Zone Bar and Grill, grill was closed already. Service was friendly and food was drinks came out promptly. I was checked on multiple times to see if I needed anything else. I gave Habanero's Mexican Grill 3-stars because the food was average for a Mexican restaurant in Georgia. The food was decent and came out hot but it was somewhat lacking in flavor. I expected the red sauce on my enchilada and tamale to be more spicy but it was kind of bland. The corn on the tamale I had was kind of hard, when it should be soft but the shredded beef on the inside tasted okay. The rice and beans were pretty good and I enjoyed them. The salsa that came with the chips was pretty good but I thought it could of used a bit more spice. The service was good and my food came out really fast. Overall, I would probably eat here again and would recommended people to try it. read more

Oh. My. God. How did I get so lucky?! Harlem is a small place and we hit the jackpot when Habenero's Mexican Grill opened here. My husband and I have eaten there several times and I foresee this becoming a weekly spot. I try to order something new every time and so far everything has been outstanding. Some of my favorites includes the Al Pastor dish under the pork (I can't believe I forgot the full name!) and the Molcajete Fajitas. The service is wonderful, though sometimes they are understaffed. One time the restaurant was full and there was only one waitress (poor girl!) but she kept on a smile and kept moving! I imagine that staffing won't be an issue once they get their feet under them. read more

We tried the Grovetown location after they had been open a bit. It just wasn't good. It took a while to get our food and then it wasn't edible. The dish I had was so salty that I couldn't eat it. And other than the salt, it was pretty bland. I doubt we will go back. read more

We love this restaurant! Habeneros is clean, has a friendly staff, a large menu and everything I have tried has been excellent! Super excited our small town, Harlem, GA, now has a full service restaurant (your only other local options are Huddle House, a somewhat adequate pizza place, Subway, and a not very impressive cupcake shop - which has very dry cupcakes). So this is definitely a step in the right direction for Harlem regarding food options! If you are in the area and enjoy Mexican food, then this is the place for you! My husband and I are from Texas and so we are very picky when it comes to our Mexican food. We have tried multiple places around Augusta since moving here 2 years ago and Habaneros in Harlem is by far the best! We found this place when we moved to Harlem but it's honestly worth the drive from Grovetown or Augusta to get some yummy food at VERY fair price! We waited with eager anticipation for this restaurant to open a few years ago. And, it was great. Now, not so much. It feels as if the owners/management have lost interest. The food is inconsistent - sometimes very good, sometimes less than average. The shrimp tacos are usually good, but other items are just not noteworthy. The facility has also gotten rundown and now looks a little seedy. Since they are opening a new Habanero's in Grovetown, many people are assuming that this restaurant will close. So sad - it had so much going for it when it opened. read more
