Really and truthfully one of the best experiences dining I've had. My family has gone there for years. Don't know where everybody went or what they got going on across the street but whatever it is....maybe it's how the rice gets done with a scoop and looks more organized on your plate...whatever it is y'all go ahead. Habaneros, go in there and ill 5 * guarantee it. The people are genuine. I can go in, sit down, place my order, they don't care about how you dress and are always respectful. Seriously I bet you if you went in with no pants on and lit a firecracker...soon as you're done actin foolish they'd still hand you a menu. Some of these dudes have been there like a decade +. Theres no one else in town with that dedication. All those years handling the drunken yells and fielding phone calls from the entire population of Thomson on a weekend 2 minutes before closing time. My God! Bless them! Then.....Singing happy birthday 18 times a week. No matter, no complaints. don't care about your drama or who voted Obama. You come with nonsense fine, but I guarantee you if you walk in there before you can ask they will have you seated. I never once had a bad time. Before you realize you need a refill bam! Refill. Then let's say they got your order wrong when you called in. No problem, Bam! Then they even apologize for your mistake. Consistently awesome. Never called once where they didn't answer the phone. Maybe one other business in town has done that and I promise you, promise you they have the ears of a veteran service dog. You can have wrestling on, kids fighting over who gets the tablet next, a freakin band concert. You say your order one time....one time..... no matter what they got you. And if and I mean if they make you repeat it, they just do it because they know instinctively what you said wasn't you meant. That's just them allowing you to fix what you said. All in all, Habaneros Mexican Grill offered an overall decent meal. The service was friendly enough and the ambiance was decent enough. Nothing fancy, but I have always maintained that the best Mexican food comes from these humble mom-and-pop type establishments. I am very disappointed with my order. I ordered a combination plate with stuffed pepper and a burrito. The stuffed pepper was only a slice of a full pepper, about a third of it, topped with ground beef. I asked about it and they said that is how they serve a stuffed pepper. I know there are budget cuts, but giving you a piece of the pepper is disappointing. I am Mexican and know what a stuffed pepper should look like. The meal was fantastic! It was prepared perfectly- I had a chimichanga with rice refried beans and a salad. The salad was much larger than I have had at other restaurants and it came with a lot of guacamole and sour cream. The chimichanga was HUGE! Absolutely delicious! read more

Came to the area for a competition in the morning and ate there for the night. Received my order for steak and if it was for the A1 sauce I wouldn't have realized the steak was still mooing at me! This is by far the best Mexican food in Thomson I usually get the fajitas or the burritos California both of which are always great. The salsa is also very delicious way better than that Luke warm chunky mess down the street. read more

Not to bad. Had the Carnitas tacos and the pork had good flavor, a bit to much cilantro for me but can pick that off. Salsa was just ok a bit on the sweet side and not much heat but eatable. Staff that seated us was very friendly and surprised that the gringo spoke a bit of Spanish. All in all I would go back. read more

This place sucks. The salsa is pretty much just crushed tomatoes--no flavor at all. The guacamole is pico de gallo with avocados diced up in it. The waitress we had didn't know much of anything about the menu. I ordered Nachos Machos & got a plate of chips with shredded cheese that had been microwaved and turned the whole thing into a greasy cardboard mess. I have no intention of returning here. Good service. It was hard understanding out waiter but everything was good. Got another thing of an appetizer when we didn't order one (it came to the wrong table). Food wasn't that good, though. Rice tasted bland and the fajita quesadilla that we ordered was supposed to be ONLY steak but there was chicken, veggies, etc on it... Chicken was tough and tasteless. This was a bad choice for a road trip dinner. Service was very slow and sparse. Servers came without the complete order and didn't come back for a long time. My daughter accidentally spilled her drink on the floor. They handed me a dry rag to clean it up after it sat there for a long time seeping all over under the table and on our shoes. No mop. No help. No refill. Then, we went to pay and the credit card machine was down. All in all a really bad experience here. Will not return. read more

I had the Chili Colorado and was surprised that it tasted better than it looked. When I go back I will consider ordering it again.
