Im not from this area and was craving fruit for lunch. I drove by and enticed by the window advertisments, I went to get a fruit bowl. The service was quick and easy & she even gave me a teacher discount. I ordered the Bionico's bowl that comes with Papaya, strawberry, bananas, cantaloupe, apples and topped with Gabbys special dressing ( taste very similar to creme cheese fruit dip) coconut, granola and raisins. The bowl looked correct until I noticed there were no strawberries as advertised. I did call 4 times. The first time they answered heard me half way through and then hung up. Next few times I was forwarded or it just rang. That small bit took my experience with this business from 8 to 1. How rude. I simply was calling to let them know about the mistake and to be more aware. Sad to say I may never return. read more

Then I remember why I stopped coming, prices have obviously gone up but the service remains the same as the last time I visited. I must say when I was there in the past it was pretty packed, I understood that the waiting time was a bit long due to that but this time there was literally 4 of us in there and an order for each. Of course there was one person doing all the work and they took their 15 mins to get our order done which was only 4 items. The girl who also took our order was not enthusiastic,either, she just wanted to get the order done and over with. I wish they were more caring and had more staff. I will not be going back. It's supposed to have cheese, Mayo, creama and spices...ha it basically only consisted of corn and a teaspoon of cream, teaspoon of cheese and splash of spices. This is one of my go to places for elote. I always get the large cup of the yellow corn. They serve a fair amount of queso && chile, it is enough for the entire cup. I personally always need more chile though. When we've asked for extra in the store they have giving us a small amount free of charge. On the last occasion I took a cup to go and when I asked for extra chile I was charged an additional dollar. They do give it to you in those condiment containers but it's not filled all the way. We were hungry and wanted a quick snack so we dropped in. The interior has plenty of seating, there were quite a few customers inside on a Saturday afternoon. They had had at least 8 employees behind the counter. We ordered a small (20oz) Special Green Juice which ended up costing $6.95. It's really fresh and good, but still a little on the pricey end for a juice. Also got a medium Mexican Corn, for the price, I wouldn't order again. They had the option of white or yellow corn. Alrighty, so I'm a HUGE fan of Mexican corn in a cup. This is a new place I found through Yelp and the reviews were pretty decent so I went ahead and decided to try it out. The location was easy enough to find, just on the right side of Value Village on Gessner. The facilities get a 5 - this is the cleanest Mexican snack shop I've ever seen. I ordered a small corn and a mangonada and my total came out to be ~ $9. I felt like the corn lacked flavor. Usually this stuff is an amazing combination with the chile, mayo, and lime, but it just didn't do it justice for me. The mangonada had lots of chunks of mango, but the entire bottom half of the cup was entirely frozen through. All in all, good for convenience sake, but not the best. read more

I. LOVE. the ice here. It is so good... I think it's called Troles, but its in these glass cases (like the ones they use to keep icecream)/ So when you go, you order your size. I like to get a larger size like the 32.oz so I can freeze my left overs for later. You get up to 3 flavors. I usually get watermelon and mangonada. My favorite is watermelon. It is sweet and refreshing. The mangonada and anything loco can be a bit overpowering. It is the combination of sweet and salty that just makes your mouth water. I would definitely pair those with a regular flavor. If you like tamarind you should get the tamarind loco but again, pair with a less flavorful flavor. I also tasted the guava before which was pretty good considering that I'm not a fan of guava. My friend and I were spitting out seeds (it was that fresh!). I think the prices are pretty reasonable and they actually serve a wide variety of items on their menu including ice cream, fresh juices, tortas etc. On another note. Once I ordered two half gallons of ice. I felt kinda bad because it took the girls forever to scoop it out of the tubs. They were like using all their strength to pierce the hard ice and every scoop was just a little sliver into our huge half gallon bucket so it took forever. My husband and I were cringing and regretting ordering these huge tubs. We had no idea the girls would have to exert so much time, effort and energy. I noticed though that they didn't pack the ice in like they would if you ordered a smaller size so most of my half gallon was air. I was disappointed, but I didn't want to say anything either because I felt so bad they were breaking their backs to scoop the ice. Apparently, the worse ones to scoop is watermelon (unfortunate since this is the best) while mango and strawberry is easier. We ended up just telling them to give us more mango and strawberry. I hope they can implement a more efficient system, but in the future, I will probably order smaller sizes because I think you get the most value for that. Definitely go yall. This place would probably do better if they accepted credit cards for all of their customers, not just the ones that spend more than 5 dollars. It's 2018 and the majority of people use a card to pay. I was really hoping to like this place unfortunately the only item I was pleased with was the hot Cheetos w cheese but how can you go wrong with that. The Mexican corn lacked flavor and had way too much lime. My mangonada was a bigger disappointment. I can understand if they premade and it came frozen but it must have been kept frozen a long time bc I was able to taste and smell the freezer burn. I found the frozen ice to be supper yummy, and though the outside may seem unappealing to many who live in the near upperclass neighborhood, I would recommend they try it out. Delicious. The price was about $17.60 for two explosiones (mangonada with additional cut fruit and candy) and the Mexican corn (large). The Explosiones was a tasty frozen treat (literally, the cut fruit was still icy and maybe in need of a little more time to thaw) but it was still good.
