If I had gotten my full order it probably would have been a 5 star meal. I had the Dearborn sandwich which was basically a chicken shawarma, dark chicken meat with garlic paste and pickles. It was GREAT. I added extra protein so it was stacked. Their garlic paste (toum) was also awesome. My husband was away at a conference so I could get freaky with the garlic and ordered an extra side of it to dip my fries in it, too. Alas, no fries so I dipped my sandwich right into it instead. It was POTENT and delicious! Just how I like it. I also ordered a small hummus and pita chips. It was a pretty generous serving for small and was excellent. Nice and smooth and the pita chips were so good! I ran out of pita chips so I'd add an extra side of those next time. So yes, there will be a next time, because it was really good, but I'll be sure to ask my delivery person to double check that everything is in the bag next time.

Service is always kind and helpful as well and it is always very clean. They also have the best garlic sauce I've ever had- it is so flavorful! Their hummus is fantastic as well. Their prices are also very fair. Pita King has become one of my favorite places and I'm excited to try more and more of their menu.

More dry the next day when I reheated the leftovers. It probably would have been incredible eaten fresh in the restaurant. The rice was good and I liked the texture. The veggies were crisp but slightly too charred for my liking. I was surprised the soup didn't have rice, but the flavors were on point and I really enjoyed it. As previously mentioned, the pita and garlic sauce were superb. I easily could have gotten three meals out of this one entree- an incredible value. I'll definitely try it again!

There are some tables along the walls, but no one was sitting at them and there were no placemats, silverware etc. set down. The center of the restaurant was wide open and empty, and the whole place had this air of bereftness. I'd swear I'd walked back into late 2020. There were some take-out orders on the counter, and guess those represent the bulk of their business now. The person at the counter seemed surprised when I said I was there to order, not pick up, and confused by taking my order in person. What I ordered was a greek salad w/ chicken. That would be a few minutes, she said, since she would have to go into the kitchen and cook the chicken. Must have been the only one working. I'd expected to to wait a bit, so I sat down at one of the tables along the wall, but had already decided I was going to take the salad to go. The atmosphere was kind of depressing, and I didn't like the picture of me sitting alone in the empty restaurant under the gaze of the lone employee. I'd rather eat alone in my car. Plus, there was an unpleasant rancid smell hanging about. Once I'd parked in a quiet, shady spot and opened the clamshell, my first look at the salad wasn't encouraging. Lettuce seemed tough and a bit dry, lot of outer leaves. Only a light sprinkling of feta, and no pepperoncini. The kalamatas were pale and very hard--it took some pushing to get a fork into one. When I ate one it had little flavor. I didn't eat any more. Two cups of creamy-style greek dressing were tucked into the greens, and these tasted more oily than tangy. And I should menton, I paid $20 for this delightful entree. I get greek salads fairly regularly, and have had them at many diners and middle eastern restaurants, and I can say this was the second worst one I have ever had. The only saving grace to it was the chicken. A heaping portion of it, very tender and lightly seasoned. The chicken is the only reason this place gets two stars instead of one. If the hummus and tabouli here are decent, a few slices of the chicken with those would make a pretty good meal. But in spite of the glowing yelps others have given, I am not at all inclined to return and confirm that.

On a whim, I stopped in this place instead and ordered the dill fries plus the Mediterranean street corn with some dark meat chicken on top. Omg. So good!!! This is the second time I've been here. Both times the service has been exceptional. I'm always greeted immediately when I come in the door, and the attention to detail and packaging and getting the order right is what you would expect from having an owner behind the counter. Prices are completely reasonable and while the interior is not going to win any awards -- it is a fast casual restaurant in a strip mall after all -- it's fine. Would definitely recommend.

Our cashier was also our waitress and super nice. I had two carne asada tacos adding guacamole, husband had one pollo asado taco because he had a huge breakfast. Food was hot and fast. The flavor combinations in the shawarma are so delicious and more flavorful than shawarmas I've had in the past. Another thing I appreciate about the shawarma sandwich is that the pita bread does not get soggy. I hate when I order a shawarma sandwich for takeout and it's drenched in grease and sauce by the time I get home. The shawarmas from Shawarma Plus don't suffer from this problem. The pita bread stays dry, fresh, and soft despite being stuffed with chicken, steak, veggies, garlic sauce, and tahini. The tabbouli salad is the perfect way to balance out the meal with something fresh. Shawarma Plus is the definition of a hole-in-the-wall hidden gem. I love the food here so much. Maybe that is just how they make them there. I was recently in Mexico City and had tamales that were wonderful! Maybe I just expected too much (given the $7 price). I will go back because I want to find an authentic Mexican restaurant on my side of town and hopefully next time the tamale will have a bit more meat in it. They have an extensive menu so I'll also try other choices - hopefully I'll find something as good as the pozole!
